I'm…read moredisappointed with my experience at Thai Royal Massage & Spa in Scottsdale and feel it's important to share for others who may be considering going. I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for myself and 3 girlfriends. At the time of booking, I made it clear we had not decided on services yet and wanted to choose when we arrived. The night before, they called and left a voicemail confirming us for 90-minute massages, which was never agreed upon. I immediately called back and clarified that we were still coming, but only wanted 60-minute massages and would choose our exact services when we got there. They confirmed that was fine. When we arrived, I signed us in and specifically wrote "combo" because I was interested in their combination reflexology. Before my massage even started, I clearly told my masseuse I wanted the combo reflexology, and she acknowledged it. However, the massage I received was not reflexology at all there was no foot soak and barely any foot work, which is standard at every reflexology place I've been to. On top of that, during the massage they were extremely pushy about extending our sessions another 30 minutes (making it 90 minutes total). I was asked twice, and all 3 of my friends were also pressured to extend. We all declined. At checkout, I noticed I was being charged significantly more than expected. When I asked, they told me they gave me the "combo body massage" instead of the "combo reflexology." That was never what I asked for. Instead of taking accountability or trying to correct their mistake, they did nothing. To make matters worse, their tipping system feels very uncomfortable and aggressive. They present tip options starting around 30-38% and hold the payment screen right in front of you, creating unnecessary pressure. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and focused on upselling rather than customer service. I take responsibility for not being more confrontational in the moment, but not everyone is comfortable speaking up, and businesses should not rely on that. I left feeling taken advantage of, and unfortunately, they've lost our business. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience.

Tonight I saw Tresca, and I left in a total daze. I cannot remember the last time I felt so physically relaxed. I am pretty sure I fell asleep in the session and I can't remember the last time that's happened either. Tresca offered pain relief and in a way that was so calming my entire system settled- and that is beyond amazing to and for me, I am very grateful. I love the north Scottsdale location of the NOW- from the moment you walk in, the scent starts working on your mood and the sounds of the ocean in the treatment area drowns out the noise. There are several amazing therapists there and I'm so glad I can add Tresca to the list.

She checked in throughout the massage for desired pressure, but she was definitely more accustomed to massage for relaxation versus therapeutic relief. A few more notes...There was no table warmer, which was fine by me, but you get the gist this is a no-frills experience. There is no neck cradle on the massage table; you're given a donut pillow. While we've had Thai massages before, neither of us have ever been to a head-spa and we were beyond excited to see what all the rave is about. We started with our Thai massages in a beautiful couples room. What we loved most was how they integrate stretching into your massage experience. If you've never had a Thai massage there are bars on the ceiling and they hold themselves up to walk on your back and use their feet to manipulate and massage different areas of your body. Although it can be intense, it is also surprisingly therapeutic. Next we went entered the couples aqua spa room and had our head-spa experience side by side. They washed, conditioned, massaged, scrubbed, squeegeed, rubbed, combed, brushed, rinsed and used a waterfall feature on our scalps. I don't think my scalp has ever been so squeaky clean in my whole life! The woman who did my head-spa offered to blow dry it and as someone with thick, ethnic, wavy curly hair this was what I was most worried about going into the experience. I let her try but ended up having to finish drying and flat ironing my hair in the main bathroom. They had a Dyson blow drier and flatiron as well as brand name perfumes in the rooms, which really made the experience feel luxurious. For us the combo experience of two 60-minute treatments back to back was a little too long. I started getting antsy towards the end of the second treatment. In the future I'd love to return and enjoy one treatment because it really was a top notch experience.
