I was able to successfully get a replacement from Hayward without their help. Fast Forward: I called Riverview to confirm I could return the unused unit I had just purchased from them. They told me yes -- as long as it was within 30 days. I walked in with the product still sealed in its original, unopened packaging, well inside the 30-day window. They refused the return. Their reason? It had been "serialized" and they supposedly could not take it back. Let's be clear: this is not a policy issue. This is a paperwork issue they didn't feel like dealing with. They never disclosed any serialization restriction at the time of sale. There was no signage in the store stating this item was final sale. And their refusal directly violates the return policy published on their own website: "In-Store & Pick Up In-Store Purchases On new, unused merchandise, if you are not satisfied, simply return the item in its original, unopened packaging to the location where the purchase was made within 30 days for full refund." They confirmed the 30-day return on the phone, then denied it in person with a made-up technical excuse. That is not a misunderstanding. That is a deliberate decision to ignore their own policy when it became inconvenient. For a business that constantly promotes itself as "family-owned," the way this location treats customers is revealing. I look forward to the family owners publicly defending this practice. Choose another store and not this one Pinch A Penny Riverview store #175, especially for higher-ticket equipment, get the return terms in writing before you pay. What they say on the phone and what is written on their website means nothing once they decide they don't want to process the return.

I used to be EXTREMELY satisfied with this company and recommend them to everyone. When Eddie, the…read moreowner, was the one coming out - we were happy with the service. We have been with them for quite some time and noticed the downfall in the quality of service recently. It seems they've gotten bigger (which is great) but with the additional employees and not being such a "small business" anymore- the quality has gone downhill. We have had two major issues - both in which I e-mailed them about. Their lack of communication in private, yet wanting to put on a show in public is comical. The wife, Heidi, is condescending and has never taken responsibility for any issue (read every single response on the bad reviews. Not one ounce of accountability). We were looking for new pool service via a FB group and I simply stated "not Edge pools, we are looking for other options". I did not put them on blast with my issues, I did not post the video I have of one of my complaints. I simply did not want a bunch of recommendations for Edge, when we were looking elsewhere. Heidi chose to comment, again- with zero accountability. Did not reach out to me in private but needed to put on a show for others to "keep their reputation". She comes off argumentative and defensive. I don't think it's inappropriate to look for other service when you are dissatisfied with a company. I DO think it is inappropriate as a business owner to have the posts removed from public groups. I was then "somehow" blocked from one of the groups she's an admin for and friends with the other admins. If you can't own a business and take criticism AND responsibility for mishaps then you probably shouldn't own a business. I do not recommend this company, mostly due to the poor customer service. There was an opportunity to make this right but she chose to be argumentative about the situation instead of mending a relationship with a long time customer. And please, save your generic response on my comment, it's not necessary.

It's taken me way too long to write this review because it's been a while since we had their…read moreservice but we were not thrilled customers. Eddie, who serviced the pool, and his wife who did the billing, always rubbed us as having an off-putting attitude. It was hard to pinpoint but it was as if we should be thankful for their service, without questioning anything ever. It was odd. The pre-billing was also odd. The final straw was when the pool pump broke and instead of knocking on the door and saying something-(as my husband works from home and was home every time he came out to service)-he put a blurb about it in his regular pool picture/report. If you're getting regular service, you're not exactly jumping on that report because it's usually pretty unchanging. So it was days before we realized it wasn't working. When we called him to ask he said that yes, he discovered it wasn't working and that he put something about it in the regular report. Also odd. And not cool. By the way....Google reviews are always over-inflated; seems like Yelp reviewers are using a more critical lens when searching for quality and the reviews of this company reflect that.

Run from this company. They cost me about $1000 to fix their neglect of my pool…read more Starting in April 2024 I complained about calcium build up. It was never addressed and accelerated in April this year, with me constantly complaining it was ALL OVER the pool, email after email, until finally they advised they would address it mid September. I drained the pool some inches and refilled with soft water as they advised and they said they adjusted chemicals. With no communication for 2 weeks, i reached out and they said the calcium raised further and accused me of messing up their treatment (somehow) because I HAD to drain some water out of the pool again after rain and filled it an inch with SOFT water (that has no calcium)...derrrr that lowers calcium and I had no choice regardless, because it's like...Florida. Regardless, they offered no next steps. Maybe in over their head. When I canceled, they sent me a bill for $185 for "calcium remediation". We never discussed this charge; I'd never have agreed to pay for their neglect for over 1.5 years that is what caused the calcium to get everywhere and out of control. They said we discussed this charge "over the phone" -- eye roll. And reiterated that somehow I messed up their treatment that had yet to do anything. Now I'm paying A reputable company to get in the pool and actually hand treat the myriad of calcium spots littering the pool--step 1 that they didn't do. Oh and guess what's next? Probably draining the pool more and filling with soft water. Oh and here's a picture of the filter they "cleaned." The new pool company was like: they haven't cleaned this in ages. They also tested my tap water at 250 calcium and it was at 900 which means...Brighter Pools didn't know what they were doing with pool chemicals.

We spoke with several pool repair companies and when we met Dan we knew we'd found our pool professional! Dan was courteous and timely scheduling and coming out to assess our pool and heat pump. As first time pool owners, we had a lot of questions. Dan assessed and fixed a small air leak in one of our valves and took time to help us better understand the basics of our pool. Our heat pump needed a complete replacement. Pool-X-Perts was priced competitively and worked with us to integrate our pool automation system as well! It was a great experience, the heat pump went in without problem, and we couldn't be happier! Lastly, a short time after the heat pump was replaced, Dan followed up to make sure everything was still working well and we were satisfied with our install -- of course we were! If it wasn't obvious, we can't recommend Dan and Pool-X-Perts enough! If you need help with your pool, this is by far the right group to call!

He not only helped us by keeping our pool clean, but also helped us with our pump and thermostat maintenance. Also offered us breaks on replacement parts because he deals direct with the manufacturers than going retail. He and his wife have just about become part of the family. They are also very pet friendly as well and when they leave they do not leave your pets trapped in a portion of the yard and also do not leave gates open. If they damage property they own up to it and notify you of the problem and offer to fix the issue, they even will leave you a rubber ducky when they come by to let you know they've been there. You would be a fool to go elsewhere.
