Today I was walking through Florence and stressing about my gray hairs. I walked into Graffiti hair salon and was immediately greeted by Angelo, the owner. I asked if they had any availability soon. He said he could fit me in right now. I was so excited to be able to fix my hair. Elena was the hairdresser that took care of my touch up. It was a very relaxing and pleasant experience. I got my roots touched up and also got a hair mask. Elena walked me through every step of the process. The shampoo part was amazing. I got to sit in a massager chair , while getting a nice scalp massage. I even fell asleep. Both Angelo and Elena made me feel very welcome. My hair looks amazing and feels so soft. I am so happy with my hair! This salon did an excellent job. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and kind. The main stylist knew English well enough to explain to me everything, and I really was thankful for that! I felt the price was very reasonable for what I got. Incredibly talented staff :). I was in Florence visiting, and after the reviews decided to come out to Graffiti. It's easy to find, as it's the one glass-paned store at the end of the block. I was doubtful about finding a place that could deal with with coarse Asian guy's hair (hard enough finding a place in the states), but my stylist was kind and patient as he evaluated what I was going for. He used scissor techniques that I have only known to be used at higher end salons, and yet the price was very reasonable. It's the best cut I've had, ever. I highly recommend this salon! I scheduled an appointment with Angelo (he got back to me promptly within an hour or so) for a trim and color. I wanted a very natural looking balayage style color job. We were able to communicate well and I could not be happier with the end result! My hair is a beautiful color and the choppy layers I had before look much better now. In the US no one has cut and colored my hair as meticulously as Angelo did! He spent time making sure things were perfect. I couldn't recommend this place more - especially if you are nervous about getting your hair done outside of the US. The services were also very reasonably priced. I was visiting Florence for a vacation, and wanted to get a blowout for a special occasion. I found Graffiti via Yelp- and was able to schedule an appointment two days out right through the app! (Love that minimal level of effort and all the staff speaks English). The salon is small (only three chairs), but the staff is friendly and welcoming. On a Saturday, there were two male stylists, and a female assistant who washed my hair right away upon arrival. They didn't rush my appointment and within 45 minutes, I was in and out. I got washed (with additional hair mask added), and blown out/styled for about 30€. Very affordable/comparable to what I would pay for the same services in the US. read more

The reviews are all true! This place and its employees are so warm and welcoming. I requested an appointment through Yelp and they got back to me within a few minutes confirming my appointment. After entering the chic salon, I was immediately greeted by the friendly employees. I was then seated by my lovely hairdresser, whose name slips my mind. I showed her a reference of what I wanted for my hair and she showed me an array of options of colors to choose from. She kept conversation while doing my hair and made me feel at ease, given the fact that I have never dyed my hair before. For bleaching+dying+washing with shampoo & conditioner+blow out, it totaled up to be 85€. Fair price for the whole 3 hours and the outcome! Am traveling and decided I must get my hair cut. Made an appointment easily online. I was lucky enough to get in right away. Was greeted by some very friendly folks. There are only two chairs, an appt is a must The place was immaculately clean. My stylist spoke English, which is great because I don't speak Italian. I brought a picture of what I had in mind and together we made a good plan. We decided to throw on some gloss to spruce me up and then moved to the cut. With precision and artistry my cut was done. She went back in after dry to make sure it was perfect. Spent a couple of minutes talking about other ways to style. Was a wonderful experience. Could not be happier. I was planning on getting my hair cut whilst abroad and looked this place up prior to coming to Florence. Because the reviews were so great, I decided to go for it. I called ahead of time and they got me in the same day. The salon is very chic and clean. I had long hair, nearly to my elbows and was planning on chopping it to an A-line bob. I believe the stylists name was Gabriel, and he spoke enough English to evaluate my hair texture and understand exactly what I wanted. Him and Angelo were both friendly, professional, and personable. The shampooing was great, and he gave my hair a deep conditioning because it was very dry, though I opted out of the full conditioning treatment because I was short on time. He cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and I absolutely LOVE my new length. The pricing was also extremely reasonable for a cut and blow dry and I will definitely be returning before my study abroad trip is over!! Couldn't recommend this place more. read more

Gwendolina is a gem! I've been all over the city of Florence to have my hair done, as we usually stay here for four to six weeks every year. I've met some nice people, had a decent job done on my hair but nothing to write Yelp about. In one case, a gentleman got me to agree to a small trim, and he hacked a one inch plus section out of my hair and showed it to me. "Okay?" Yikes! NO! But it was too late. This was a totally different and wonderful experience. My hair tends to fade red - it's my natural color. But I like my roots dark, and I ballyage to keep things interesting. Highlights don't work for me - lowlights do. Gwendolina was familiar with the concept and the style. Her grasp of English is satisfyingly complete, and she isn't pushy. She was warm, funny, and helpful. She did say, "next time, a trim!" Which was also tactful. I needed one. But after my last experience I was scared. I won't be scared the next time after I saw the way my hair turned out. This section of town is not highly touristed but you should get an appointment. A young college student did manage a walk-in hair cut while I was there, so it is possible, but I wouldn't bet my day on it. I've heard raves about Angelo and I'm sure he's the big cheese, but I loved my result with Gwendolina. The whole experience was warm, friendly, comfortable. And the results were not only the best I've had from 23 years of visiting Florence - I'd see her again if she was in Colorado! read more

I have fine, naturally wavy hair that is a mix of dark reddish blonde and white. I went in yesterday to get my roots done and had a wonderful experience. They took their time to really have a good look at my hair and discuss what I would like to have done. The consultation was excellent. I am completely satisfied. I got my roots done as well as a few well-placed highlights to make everything look more natural. I also got the deep conditioning treatment, and my dry/damaged hair is now glossy and looks healthy. Since I felt so comfortable with them, I decided to get a little more done and also got a trim. They again listened to my wishes and did a great job. I loved this place. As a student abroad, I was nervous to get my hair cut anywhere besides where I do. However, my hair was absolute trash and I wanted to look my best for the time in Florence. Complete waste of money. Do not be tempted by the reviews. Gwendolina was very sweet which is why I gave more than one star. That part is true in the reviews. But it was clear that I was preyed upon as a tourist and the faith I put in them was betrayed. I had waited for many months to have my hair cut because I had to wait for a bad cut to grow out. I thought it would be perfect to have my hair done in Florence. So I read the Yelp reviews and thought that I would give this place a chance. Instead of having the experience that is described by most of the reviewers, I was charged an exorbitant amount of money for a color, cut, and "treatment" -- an extra I agreed to, but I realized the next day it was to make up for the fact that the ends of my hair weren't cut. My hair was flat on top and frizzy at the ends. G did a very nice job with the blow out. But the cut was so awful that when I got back to my hotel suite I immediately made an appointment with Wave to have a revision (there's much to rave about Wave; see my other review). Until this morning I gave them the benefit of the doubt (I was willing to cancel the appointment at Wave). But I could not return home with my hair like this given I have just begun a busy job that requires more public speaking. Further, the lights above the bathroom mirror of my suite are very bright and illuminated all the silvery stands that we're running through my hair. Alas, one hair wash after the color was applied, I can see them peeking through again. I was asked over and over again how long I was staying and I think that perhaps it's because they were trying to estimate how much dye to use to see me through my return home. I fully expect that I will have to have my hair dyed again in a week. I'm sure the owner of the salon will read this and this is what I want to say to him: I'm sorry that you need money so badly that you have to steal from people. So consider the 130€ I paid for this horrible hair as my gift to you. God bless you. You clearly need His blessing. It is not in my culture to insult someone who has just completed work for me. So I thanked you all after the work was done. I suspected I'd need a revision. It wasn't until you told me how much it cost that I got a sinking feeling that I'd been scammed. The blowout looked lovely but when I washed my hair the next day, my fears were realized. I kept my appointment at Wave. Now for Gwendolina: You are better than this. Get more training or find another line of work. It tarnishes your character to participate in such a sham, not to mention the bad karma it generates. Luckily there are true hair artisans in Florence so I will return home with a look that reinforces the reputation that Florence is gaining as a European fashion Mecca. But if you want to be an artist, then dissociate yourself from this salon and find an artisan who will take you on as an apprentice. This might be easy money now but scammers rarely have long careers. Consider this advice my gift to you, since I'm sure you saw very little of the money I handed over. To all the tourists who are reading this: YMMV, but there are better salons to support. Why risk your vacation time and money here when there are better options? read more

Loved it! Angelo did an amazing job at fixing my self inflicted butchering of my hair. Lovely clean shop, excellent massage during the shampoo, lots of hair treatments that left my scalp tingly and fresh. Do NOT recommend coming here if you have dark hair and want to get it dyed lighter. I had dark brown hair when I came here and wanted to get it lightened to a blonde/light-brownish color. Not only did they decide to not bleach my hair (as is necessary to lighten dark hair), they left the dye on for over an hour in hopes that it would somehow result in the color I want. After the process was over, Angelo had to drag me outside to show me that, yes, my hair was barely noticeably lighter under DIRECT SUNLIGHT. I was charged 60 euro for this and did not think it was worth the price at all. My hair was nowhere close to the shade they had me choose from their own color guide. read more

Very intimate as theres only room for three people to get their hair cut at a time. The owner is increadbly knowlagable and gave me the most technical consultation ive ever had. The haircut itself would have been only 20 euro if not for all the add ons which felt a little unavoidable. I get my hair cut often so i try to avoid expensive additions and spend as little as possible, but if you cut your hair less often and want a great experiance for a good price (about 80) I'd definatly go here.
