I first came in back in April 2012 as hesitant because I was honestly scared of intimidating work outs, will I look like a fool, and will I fall over for not being able to do the work outs. I loved the friendly staff and owners that I met on my first day in! They greeted me with open arms and helped me realized my health goals and what I need to achieve these goals. The workouts are GREAT! Every week is a different routine and they throw finishers too at the end of every workout. If you can't do a certain circuit due to injuries, they also offer modifications and work with you. They've now added BOXING!! Boxing is now my favorite part! Great cardio workout, help build stamina, and build self confidence too. The trainers & staff are great!! They're a fun, outgoing, and respectful group of individuals who push you to strive harder. I've lost more than 20lbs and counting! I'm more confident in myself, feel great, my asthma hasn't been a nuisance, and the trainers have also helped me find ways to ease my plantar faciitis. My goal is to fit nicely (and not bulging) in my new size 8 clothes, and maybe even get into a size 6...but it's not just about the sizes, it's leading a healthy lifestyle and enjoying my workouts at ABP. I specifically asked if there was anything else I needed to sign or do to confirm the cancellation and was told no. However, I have since been billed for two additional months and now learned that cancellations actually need to be confirmed in writing via email and that coming in person is not required. Which would have been fine if it would have been communicated either when I called or when I came in to cancel. If I had been given the correct information at either point, I would have taken care of it immediately. Extremely frustrating experience.

I try not to visit during prime times when it's busy and crowded. The classes are good; they have a wide variety and the instructors do a good job. Overall, it seems pretty clean. The front desk staff is always welcoming, smiling, and genuinely enjoys talking with members. I also love all of the updates and am really glad I stuck it out through the renovations. The third floor and dedicated stretching space have been fantastic additions, and the new recovery area with the massage chairs (where the old kids' section used to be) is beautifully done. I really appreciate that Chuze is focusing on overall health and recovery, not just lifting weights. My only small suggestion is about the landmine attachment being moved into the Lift Lab. It would be great to have a second one available on the main floor as well. Other than that, I think Chuze has done an excellent job transforming the gym, and I'm excited to see what they continue to add.

Lots of times if I don't know where a machine is or how to use it, there is some near by you can ask and willing to help or show you. When I go the Gym Jax, I'm more motivated and ready to put work in than I have ever been. I'm greeted every day by a smiling staff member. It's the little things that mean the most. Plenty of equipment and machines so it's not a long wait on one particular machine. If it's something you really want to use most likely someone will let you work in with them. I've never been to a Gym that makes you feel like you belong than this one. It's my happy place and I look forward to going every day.
