Trespassing occurred. We get a knock on the door Sunday, January 7, at 9p. It's Gramp's asking to borrow the car keys to move our car so they can shovel us out. We loan the keys then close the door without locking it. They removed the snow ok. However... At about 9:30p, we can hear a woman's voice seemingly inside our house. She was calling to us through our house by opening the kitchen door in the foyer. When we got out to the kitchen, this 50ish woman was standing in the foyer, facing to the side, with our kitchen door somewhat...open! She opened our closed door with no permission. She did not have the professionalism to just knock and wait. She left quickly when I started calling her out for it. This isn't the first time they've done something unpleasant. One time they moved our two trash buckets as far away from the house as possible and left them there. They were not thorough in their work during the warmer weather, only once in late fall after the Plantain lilies looked a mess all fall. And that was only after we threatened to withhold payment after they had weeds around them for months. They let weeds grow all summer. They broke a lawn stake light and just let us find it. In our experience, they overcharge for what they actually do, and then are usually insufficient. Who told this woman from Gramp's to even touch our door knob? We got a no trespass order. As it happens, I have the unfortunate experience of residing on the same street as the former reviewer "CaliTraveler". If not so serious, (and libelous) to an outstanding local business, these accusations would be laughable. These residents are an absolute menace to the otherwise peaceful neighborhood, in Auburn Ma. This mother 80's/son 50's duo have a history of hiring then firing, landscaper/snow removal and other contractors for the purposes of free services. Severe mental health issues are at play here with the "son" who is regularly heard abusing the mother. Literally dozens of neighbors, mail carriers and delivery folks have witnessed/heard these altercations fearing he will kill the mother. The police have been phoned countless times. Sadly, the mother defends the out of control "son", consequently tying the hands of law enforcement. My personal experience with Gramps has always been positive, as it is with several neighbors in our area. The owners and their employees have frankly been only respectful, and professional. They will go above and beyond to make certain of customer satisfaction. I can write without hesitation that I would recommend hiring Gramps, for any of their services. This ridiculous verbal assault on a reputable business is outrageous! read more
