When he was finally deemed unable to stay in post-acute facility, I found an assisted living facility the left him with bed sores and poor maintenance of his catheter in the 3 day stay. It was a nightmarish experience. The Home Health nurse told me to get him out of there and recommended PRN 2. The care that he received from Linda Hu, Roshni, May, and Simon Lu was outstanding. They took loving and gentle care of him when I could not, as much as I wanted to bring him home. They constantly rotated him, adjusted his pillows, and made him as comfortable as possible. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises. I know it's costly for home care,but we both agreed that these friendly folks would help us out.Price was not a problem.We made an appointment for the meet and greet home evaluation and get to know our new team members and our assistants.No one showed up at the appointmeant that they promised us in the beginning.I guess that $200,000 set aside for his companionship and round the clock care went down the drain.
