Changing lanes at high speer with no blinker. This is not a safe look for potential customers or the company when your company name is on vehicle. I called the company and the woman who answered the phone did not seem concerned or surprised. Only said she would call the driver now. Thank God there were no students walking the streets as this was also occuring near Bethel High and Wardlaw Elementary schools.

If you have ever had to go through the process of finding suitable care for a loved one then you already know what a nightmare that can be. Their are facility owners who highly exaggerate their level of care, unqualified staff and unsuitable living conditions not to mention abuse. After several disastrous and dangerous attempts at placements for my Great Aunt and Mother, God blessed our family with Genesis Care Home for The Elderly in Vallejo. My Great Aunt was in her late 90's and my Mother suffered from Vascular Dementia. We had removed them from an unsuitable care facility and moved them right into Genesis Care Home after just one meeting with Sharon, the owner. After what my Mom and Aunt had been through, I was very direct in telling Sharon what level of care we were looking for and Sharon was equally honest and forthcoming about the level of care she provided and her philosophy on the care for the elderly. Let me start with the word Compassion. No matter how disoriented, difficult or delusional my mother or aunt became, the entire staff always remained compassionate, respectful and loving. The staff came into their rooms with a smile and spent many hours just laughing and talking with them. They took the time to ask them questions about their lives and treated them like family. My Mom even gave them each nicknames. We are a very large family who would drop by all the time unannounced and always Mom and Auntie were clean, bathed and very well fed. The food that was prepared for them was spectacular....and I'm a retired Caterer! Anytime of the day, the residents can help themselves to snacks or fresh fruit. During the Holidays and their birthdays the spread they put out is unbelievable and all family members are not only welcomed but encouraged to stay and join in. Genesis actually took the time to find out what my Moms favorite foods and T.V. programs were and made sure both were provided. The staff regularly took the time to call and express their concerns over medications, behavioral changes or their general happiness and comfort so as a team, we could make whatever adjustments were necessary to make their daily lives better. Both my Aunt and Mom have passed now, but I will continue to stop by for a visit to Genesis Care Home, to visit this very special place, and this group of phenomenal ladies. Sonia Corina is the 2nd worst company I have worked for. I started with them to take care of a…read moreloved ones family member while they were on vacation. The training went good and totaled about 2 days. But after caring for the one person, I signed on to take any clients they have that are a good match. For the past year, they send me text messages of clients who need care. They won't let you text back and they won't email the clients information. So, I would call them and leave a message for the worker assigned to that client. I never heard back from any of them. I had times when I agreed to interview with a client and they would say they would get back to me and then nothing. I had told them several times that their lack of follow up or even concern of the way they are operating their business is scarce. It frustrated me because my time is valuable to me, I don't like the run around, and I would be really good at providing care to those in need. So, I finally called to ask them to please remove me from their contact list as a provider, that I no longer want to work for them. The lady on the phone asked me to send a letter stating so. I let her know that my time had already been wasted enough and my verbal separation should be sufficient. She then sent me a certified letter stating that they had let me go. What?! I quit, they didn't let me go. And how weird that they never followed up on obtaining quality caregivers for their clients but go through the trouble of sending me a certified letter. Since I do care for people, I am going to contact the groups that hire Sonia Corina and let them know how terrible they are to work with and that they short change clients in need. Maybe they can refer me to a company that cares. Their lack of follow up and care is concerning. Beware.

It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers.
