About a month ago, 5 days before I was going out of town my heater went out. I could get the pilot lit but it wouldn't kick on and would eventually just go out again. I had called Grand Lake Plumbing who installed it 5 years ago and they told me they couldn't take a service call unless I had one of their service plans. As a local, in addition to purchasing the heater from them in the first place, this was extremely disappointing. I called Granby Heating & Sheet Metal, left a message and they called me back within an hour or two. It took JD a couple of days to get me on the schedule since it was last minute, but he got me taken care of. His technician Gary showed up, was professional, knowledgeable and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes. We had a terrific, professional experience with this company. The were to install a new furnace and ducting and coordinate the activation of a gas line, and associated electrical upgrades. They provided a reasonable bid, came when they said they would, did what appears to be excellent work building a system from scratch and were also able to help - through their local business connections - obtain excellent plumbing and electrical contractors during a very busy time when we were not having luck doing so. When the project was complete there were a couple of startup glitches relative to both the equipment and installation. I cannot say enough goods things about Granby Heating in Grand County ,Colorado. My furnace stopped working and the temperatures were dropping in December. I am a second home owner and far away from my house. JB , who is the owner , responded very quickly and fixed my furnace in one day. While waiting for the repair his staff made sure my house was warm and also performed "wellness checks". It's scary to own a home in the mountains during winter because of pipes freezing and destroying your property. The pilot light on our furnace went out on New Year's Eve. I was able to re-light it, but wasn't sure of the cause, and didn't want to risk losing heat again with overnight temperatures around 20 below zero!
