I use to love coming to this place to eat and drink. Until I had paid my bill in cash and decided to stay for one more(drink) and they started a tab for me. I stepped outside for some air.. The long and short of it is my Tab was run up to $190 bucks I never signed it, my bank showed me the signature(it wasn't mine) and I've never tipped $30 dollars.. so, my suggestion would to be careful, certain staff like to take advantages of their customers and steal your money.. read more

We were scouting Beloit for a fun rehearsal dinner location that had a Rock and Roll vibe. We found this little gem just a short walk a crossed the bridge from Ironworks. It is perfect. Everything a pub should be including great bands-nice people and dance floor. The bathrooms were clean too. I would drive from Chicago, where I live, to organise a weekend around this place. Such a shame since my boyfriend went to college here and this is his first time back in ten years. Instead of nostalgia, he gets food poisoning. I cried in the bathtub all day and he slept in the other room, which only left room for Gossip Girl, Smalls, and Sex and the City reruns. Beloit is NOT a good town for food-poisoning guys. Beloit is nothing but a yearning for something better. I will never take for granted that my boyfriend got food poisoning. Maybe he'll come to visit Beloit again sometime. We were here Saturday night for the band. We decided to look at the menu and get a couple appetizers. I got the pint of bacon. Unfortunately it wasn't the thick cut bacon I've gotten in my bloody Mary's there. But the bacon was still okay. When my girlfriends soft pretzel came out, it was over cooked and inedible. $10 and the server threw it away. It was her 2nd or 3rd night and she didn't know how they normally are. I wouldn't have even fed it to my worst enemy. First round of drinks we ordered were $8 total. Girlfriend went back to the bar and that round was $10 for the same drinks. Service here was odd, we went on a fairly busy night, but we got our drinks and food at an appropriate time. The drink selection here felt really limited, and it was hard to tell what was available. Grand Avenue Pub recently replaced Club Impulse and has been a welcome addition to the downtown Beloit Area. We visited for the first time on Saturday night and the place was relatively happening. We sat in a booth and the server came by immediately and offered the special of 2 beers for the price of one. The only down side is they bring you two beers of which ever one you order and they bring it immediately. The server was nice enough to also bring an ice bucket to keep the free drinks chilled. The food menu is decent, although there is a limited vegetarian selection. We opted for a flatbread and added jalapeños. The presentation of the flatbread on a wooden board with a side of well seasoned fries in a basket. It also came with a small sample of coleslaw which I have to say is the best I have ever tried. Overall, it is a nice place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. On Friday nights they have live bands, and on Saturday night they have a DJ who plays a decent mix of music starting at around 9pm. They also have 9 pool tables, dartboards, and some video slot machines. We look forward to heading back in the future. read more

I was very impressed with the friendly environment and how relaxed everyone was. I really smiled when I tried to order a Pinot Grigio and got a totally weird look from the bartender, and the same thing happened when I went for my backup of Pinot Noir so then asked what kinds of wine they had to be told they have "red" and they have "white". It was a fun time and a nice place to hang out if you want to relax and meet some new friends. read more

We were hungry and the place we had intended to visit wasn't going to be open for several hours. So, we were driving through town and spotted this place and decided to give them a try. We saw a sandwich board with the day's specials outside the front door and liked what we saw. Up entering, we also liked what we saw of the decor. There is only one server on duty at this time of day as it seems to be normally quite slow at lunch time, which it really shouldn't be considering how excellent the food turned out to be. My wife ordered a bowl of french onion soup and my mom ordered an appetizer of mussels. Both were very good, especially the mussels. My mom and I agreed they were the best we have ever had. Not just excellent in flavor with a wonderful sauce but also very, VERY tender. It was also a good sized portion for an appetizer, with at least 3 dozen of the little buggers. It took both of us to finish them off and still have room for our main courses. I had a coconut shrimp po' boy, which was very good. I honestly don't remember what the others had as I was too busy concentrating on my own meal. We all did agree that this is now a favorite place for lunch. We'll reserve judgements on evenings and weekends as they must be much more crowded then. Sundays include live music and I'm sure that with the crowds they must get later in the day must make things less intimate. Too be sure, if you're hungry and in the downtown area of Beloit, stop in for an excellent meal. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'd give 0 stars, but the food is delicious. I went to this pub three weekends in a row, with fairly consistent service, if you can call it that. The waitress, Krissy, on the second weekend, told me and my party that she forgot about us because we sat by the pool tables. The next weekend, after chasing her down a couple of times, we approached the owner TO PAY, and his physical demeanor became aggressive immediately. He even grabbed multiple members of the party. He seemed to be only interested in making himself seem in charge, while insulting his clients. Like i said, the food is delicious, and its unfortunate that the staff and management don't seem to know customer service because i would like to go back. Terrible service. Im disappointed, and i wish i could make this review much more public. read more

A must see in downtown Beloit. Clean open space with an amazing food menu and a great selection of beer and spirits. Live music on Fridays... Huge tvs to watch your favorite sporting event... Two pool tables, dart board, and pinball machine for additional entertainment. You won't be disappointed!! Love it! read more

Grand Avenue Pub only opened a few months ago. Heard good things about the food for lunches and finally had an opportunity to try it for supper. We had stopped there for a drink in the fall and were very impressed with the atmosphere. Large and spacious. Large inviting eating area makes it not quite feel like you are just eating in a bar. Went on a Friday night. I had the fried fish and my wife had the buffalo chicken flatbread. Everything was excellent. We gave compliments to the chef and plan on returning soon. read more

Hands down the worst meal I've had in a very long time. Had a sad little buffalo chicken sandwich. tiny and tastes like it was gas station food. At least the fries were decent. Iced tea was equally horrible as the sandwich. Maybe it's more of a place to drink and not eat. First time in Beloit and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Went on a Wednesday night. Not too many people but they were preparing for an open mike night. The atmosphere was wonderful, not too dark, just the right amount of richness in the decor and it was clean. The waitress was nice but could have been a little more on top of things. The problem was the food. The seared tuna was way overdone and smothered in a sauce that would have been better left on the side. The buffalo chicken sandwich was a giant disappointment. Not only was it aesthetically displeasing but the seasoning was non existent as was the chicken. Great addition to downtown Beloit. We went in for a few drinks and appetizers. The apps were great...you need to try the steak strips and the jalapeño cheese curds! Many craft beers are offered as well. Just know that they are in bottles...only one draft beer is available at this time (Stella Artois). We enjoyed the dart board as well as the pool tables that were in the bar. It was a great place and we will be back again. read more

Had read several reviews so had I hopes. I know that having a meal for a group is different from ordering off the menu, but I was so disappointed. This was a 35th reunion dinner. They brought out a chopped lettuce salad that had cucumber and tomato sliced into it. The dressing, I think it was ranch, was quite bland. There was a basket of small loves of bread, pasta that had a balsamic vinegar drizzled over it, I know there was some other type of sauce, but I really couldn't identify it. In addition to the pasta there was a bowl of chopped, cooked chicken. This meal was dismal. read more
