It's a buffet, what did you expect? Buffets aren't supposed to be better than regular restaurants... but this one is close. Variety is the focus here. They have a large buffet that can satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. If you want a light meal, it can happen here. If you want to go heavy, you've got a lot of choices here. We like eating here for our business lunches that need to be fast. Can't beat the time frame by eating here if you're in a hurry. Service is great even though they just bring you drinks. Very simple, very fast, very good. Approximately $9 per person, but that is as many plates as you want. read more

We decided to try this restaurant because of the Mongolian option, which entails assembling your own bowls of ingredients, and a cook stir fries your plate in front of you. My noodle dish was ok, however it was the female server that was the issue. I was finished eating, however my boyfriend and 2 children were still eating. This female server kept coming up to us while pointing at the check to pay. We all felt rushed! Aren't you allowed to sit for more than 20 minutes at a buffet? Especially when children are still eating!!! Customers can pay at the register at the front of the restaurant, so we didn't understand why she kept interrupting us while we were eating. The name says it all. GRAND BUFFET. You will find GRAND food, priced at about A GRAND. No no no no I kid, the food isn't THAT expensive, but it isn't the dollar menu (Which I never order from because I am a billionaire and peasant food makes my silk stomach lining cringe at the thought of ordering what homeless people do.) The food is great! The rice is amazing! When I order to-go (because I don't sit at Buffets, that's what poor people do) I pile the food on! It's ridiculous how much food I can fit into a styrofoam container! If you want quality Chinese food from quality Chinese people, stop by, fill yourself up, and try not to look so poor (It's depressing to us rich folk). read more

Was there today for lunch, and I regretted it. There was a roach crawling across the counter at the sushi bar, when I told the guy behind the counter, all he did was get a napkin, squish it, and said so sorry and thank you for telling us. That was gross, I did manage to take a pic of the nastiness before he removed it. Another issue was, when he removed it, he did nothing to clean and sanitize where he has just killed the roach. Found a hair in my beef and broccoli... the manager approached me and rather than apologize, he explained how no women work in the kitchen and that it probably came from a customer. I understand accidents happen. It probably happened the way he explained. However, I didn't need the hair shown to me after the server took the plate to him and have him tell me "look, there's no sauce in it." My daughters enjoy this place, but we won't be back due to his lack of concern and crappy attitude! read more

The food was decent at best. The worst part of our experience was our waitress. She wasn't even really a waitress. All she did was refill our drinks. When it came time to pay for the check, we paid with card and we were going to tip with cash. As we were handing her our receipts that we had signed, she asked us in the rudest way, "No tip?" We told her we had cash that we were planning on leaving. We stayed for about 10 more minutes and she constantly hovered our table and gave us the dirtiest looks. We could tell all she wanted was her tip. It made us all very uncomfortable. I'm so disappointed in the disrespectful service she provided. We definitely will not be going back. read more

I originally was trying to mark this business as closed or undergoing some serious remodeling because the building Grand Buffet was in is being torn apart. In any case--the two times I visited this restaurant weren't terrible but the food tables always looked messy as well as the floors; it's like the place just wasn't kept clean. The food itself is okay, Buffet King in Odessa is better (funny that considering how mediocre Odessa is as a whole) and you're better off going there. read more

This is a very nice establishment as far as buffets go. Clean, tidy and up kept. The selection of food is top notch for buffets in midland. Beef and broccoli is good but the Great Wall chicken was awful. Soup was okay. Most side items were pretty good. Desserts were standard. Price is reasonable. Service is standard for a Chinese place, not very friendly but helpful. Limited English all around. I would recommend this place if you are in the market for a buffet. read more

Nasty!!!!!! "Food was not on point bro." Sesame chicken tasted like it had been frozen in a bag along with a couple rotting fish! The sushi had been sitting there for so long that the avocado had turn black/brown color. Bathroom was absolutely horrible, Puddles of piss on the floor. Been warned about this place but my husband decided to give it a try, he did take out and offered me an egg roll one bite and a chew I spit it out because it didn't taste right(spoiled) I told my husband don't eat his but I guess he didn't pick up on the taste it was too late let's just say he's currently in the restroom not feeling well at all I'm praying it isn't food poison I definitely don't recommend this spot!!! read more

Best buffet in Midland hands down. Plenty of selections, desserts, Mongolian and a few roll dishes. Can't complain for the price either.

It's a buffet and I typically don't sit in on buffets unless I am with a crowd or engagement. That said, I opt for take out which is usually more expensive but affords me a bit of control since me and food are best of friends and worst of enemies all the same. For those complaining about everything tasting like fish, this is probably because of the recipe and since most chefs and cook staff have their own set recipes they cook from, most will use a staple ingredient to start each cook process. This can be fish sauce, oyster sauce, black bean sauce, etc. Everything is then stir-fried or sauteed in this base. The table fare is rather simple and the same. There are a few dishes rotated out on occasion but for the most part, when you come to Grand Buffet, you pretty much know what you will buy and that's because the steam tables will usually carry the same dishes everyday. This includes standard fare such as Lo Mein noodles (it's vegetable, no meat), Mei Fun (some would call this Singapore Rice Noodles - again no meat), Mongolian beef, General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Thai Basil chicken, some American fare on the upper steam tables, a dessert/jello table, salad table and of course Hot & Sour soup and Egg Flower soup. There's also a Mongolian bowl bar similar to Genghis Grill and a Sushi bar as well. Nice selection and overall good food. The restaurant was recently renovated and re-opened with a much better entrance and look. That comes with a raising of the prices across the board. I understand business but this should come when there is an entire renovation/makeover. For this, -1 star! Otherwise, come see Jun and the crew if you are looking to chow down. read more

There are a large selection of food, but it's all just large selection of crappy food. Most food don't look or taste fresh at all. The kind of sushi they serve here should be called bad fish on badly cooked rice. My daughter went there the other day. She realized she needed to get back to work. She asked for a container to take four pieces of sushi back to work,with her do not to waste it. Well she asked someone for a container who apparently did not understand who then got someone else until there were a bunch of people at her table. Needless to say half the restaurant saw the commotion and my daughter left quite embarrassed. I will not go back there nor will she for a while. If your employee cannot understand what someone is asking, don't bring over your whole staff to handle it read more

I have been here 3 times now and the food is worse each time. This is the only buffet that I have found in midland so I have gave it 3 tries. This is the last one. The food is al dries out even at 530 dinner time. I can't even eat 1 whole plate. read more

after eating, went to wash my hands and saw one of the crew fixing the buffet area. and in my disbelief, he went and put back the food that already fell on the edge and serving area back to the tray of food. i went to talk to the server and the receptionist and told me to talk to the manager. the manager said to me that they always do that. i told him that was very untidy and unsanitary and told him to take actions on it. he just said that he will talk to the kitchen manager about it. i told him to change the food otherwise i will report them to the city. he never did until we left the area. being this said, i will never ever go back to that place again!!! read more
