Beautiful day to BBQ and they were open until 4pm and on a Sunday. 3:30pm myself along with three other cars pulled into the parking lot and hungry. It's was the end of the day but Kramer didn't mind. He welcomed us all with a big smile and how can I help attitude. I really appreciated that because I was already feeling bad for sliding in so late. They had cases full of cheese, deli meat, chicken, steak, and pork with a refrigerated/freezer section as well. After visiting I learned Grand Butchers is a full service shop offering all natural beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and veal. Affordable organic, grass-fed, and pastured products with an emphasis on made-in-Michigan. Besides custom cuts and a full display cases they have a fully stocked deli and offer many grocery items. I stopped in to Grand Butchers to look for some steak for my Christmas Eve meal. I was greeted right away and the friendly employee cut me two generous ribeye steaks. It was about $20 per pound, which is certainly better than any restaurant pricing so I was happy. I don't buy a ton of meat so I'm not sure if that pricing is in line with other stores, but I wanted to support this local shop right in my own neighborhood. They had a large selection of other cuts of meat, chicken, and packaged items like crackers, sauces, dips, gifts, and more. I'm definitely coming back to Grand Butchers the next time I need a more special cut of meat. Love the large parking lot and I was in and out in no time. read more

I finally came here last week because I want to buy more local/responsibly raised proteins instead of typical grocery store offerings. I was expecting a bit of a larger selection, or perhaps more unique cuts of meat, but the service was very friendly and helpful! I ended up purchasing 2 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breast; buying "already frozen" was half the price - $7.99/lb fresh, $3.99/lb frozen. I also purchased 2 lbs of beef stew meat, which I was told was the same cut used for the boneless beef roasts (I'm guessing like a chuck/shoulder roast). It seemed fairly lean, and that was about $8.99 or $9.99/lb, I forget. I was told that the chicken would be "the best I've ever had." It was definitely good, but not sure that I'd be able to tell the difference in a blind test taste. For the portions/quantity that I look for, I'm not sure that the price/quality makes it worth it to come here regularly, but I see myself coming back for "special" dinners, like a nice steak or roast to cook at home. read more

I'm so glad I finally came here! Super convenient location for those of us on Michigan Street-- without the stress of parking! They have all cuts of beef, pork and chicken including sausage! They advertise as "grocery" but it's really just add ons to meat. Packets and bottles of seasoning, along with a fair variety of pantry items. They also have an impressive cheese selection which I noticed was less expensive than surrounding businesses. The chicken breasts come in packs of two and I got one pack of regular chicken breasts, one pack of organic chicken breasts, 1 cut of ribeye and one bone-in porterhouse - TBONE. totaling $40. That's close to what I would spend at Meijer. The sales people were very kind, and I know I was doing my part to support local businesses ! read more

An excellent butcher shop. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. They will cut your order to your specifications and can obtain specialty items if you give them a little lead time. I've been looking around for some items, so I facebook-messaged Grand Butchers to inquire if they offered what I was looking for. Not only did they respond quickly, they offered their phone number to call and hold items for pick up. Surprisingly, the few other butchers and local farms I contacted did not offer such a quick or helpful response! The extra time spent in responding made me call them for an order, and I picked it up last night. And the price was very reasonable on top of it all! Pro tip- they said if I needed an item and I knew I would be freezing it right away, to call and ask for their frozen cuts instead of their fresh cuts. Love this place. My favorite is their all angus beef hot dogs. I have called ahead and they set them aside for me. You can buy hot dogs at other places. There you get something to eat, at Grand Butcher, you get a meal. Their Chicken Cordon Bleu is awesome. The staff there helpful. I have had to call them with questions on how to cook the cordon Bleu. Convenient location. The meat is fresh. They have a good selection of steaks, pork, chicken and also a fair selection of sausage. Their spicy beef jerky is great. I like that their products don't contain sodium nitrite, which is a carcinogenic preservative that the industry puts in a lot of meats, particularly sausages and jerky. Unlike other nearby butchers, parking is never a problem here at Grand Butchers. If they don't have a product you are looking for, the owner is always willing to help make an accommodation or place a special order. This is the type of flexible service that the big box grocers are lacking. My favorite item here are the Flat Iron steaks. I'm the type of person that likes to go to Meijer for all my grocery needs. However, I make an exception when it comes to my meat. Meijer just can't compete with the friendly service, flexibility, personal attention given to each customer, and the quality of meat. read more

Went here for the first time and we loved it! The customer service was phenomenal, she (unfortunately, I did not catch her name) showed us around and explained what makes their meat different (it's all locally-sourced, grass-fed, all cut and smoked in-house, it never comes in frozen, etc.). We got some treats for ourselves and for our dogs - we can't wait to try the ribs and steaks we just purchased and we will definitely be back soon! read more

This place is amazing. We stopped in while walking the dog. They had smoked pig ears for dogs which took my dog a good 30 minutes to get through. He walked home the whole way with it in his mouth while trying to lay down on random lawns and eat it. So Rocky gives this place 2 paws up. Everything in there looked fantastic. We got some buffalo blue cheese chicken brats that we just cooked. They were the most flavor we ever had. And there's a ton more options to try.
