The rooms and public spaces are both comfortable and well-appointed, with a variety of room sizes, depending on your need. What brought us back was our memories of the amazing breakfast (in addition to the prime location), and I can confirm the breakfast is still quite good. COST: Very reasonable for the quality of the room & service. I'm not entirely sure if the layout is the same for all rooms, but ours included a king size bed, a safe, a spacious bathtub, a fantastic rain shower head, bathrobes, and comfortable slippers. Everything had a modern feel, since the hotel was built fairly recently (2016). (Note that the bathroom is all tinted glass, so you can see through all of it, including the toilet door. Fine for couples, but perhaps not for friends, haha.) LOCATION: Easy walking distance to Old Town Square & pretty much any mini-market store or restaurant you may need, while still remaining quiet at night. If you're going further out, the hotel is on a one-way street with just enough room for a cab or Uber to pull over and pick you up. (We never had an issue with finding an Uber driver -- usually maximum 5 minute wait.) CLEANING SERVICE: Wonderful -- I'm not sure if it's because we left a tip every time (around $4 USD) or if it's their standard level of service, but the cleaner definitely went above & beyond, including organizing our toiletries. CONCIERGE SERVICE: Probably the best concierge service I've ever experienced in my life -- huge kudos to Peter (not sure of the spelling?) and the other blonde guy with a mustache (sorry, didn't catch his name!). Despite our endless tourist questions, they never showed anything less than complete professionalism & friendly advice. Directions? Done. Recommendations for local restaurants that aren't tourist traps? Done. Helping us book train tickets because we weren't sure which websites were legit? Done. Truly 5-star service! The room was very nice, but I would recommend Boho to anyone just for the service -- it makes such a difference, especially to first-time travelers to Prague. CHECK-OUT TIME: As long as you call early in the morning and your late-check-out request doesn't interfere with the next guest coming in, they are flexible on this front. QUICK NOTE REGARDING SPA: We booked through Orbitz, and at the bottom of our reservation, it claims we get a free VIP spa treatment. But the concierge said unfortunately this is an error (apparently they've been trying to correct Orbitz and Expedia for 2 years). Spa areas like the sauna is free, but massage costs extra. So just an FYI there. To management: keep up the great work, recognize your amazing employees, and give them a raise! We would absolutely stay here again.

Located on a pedestrian zone street near historic Wenceslas Square. My second time in Prague and I liked this location instead of staying in the Old City, which can get noisy and crammed with tourists. This hotel was close enough but far enough, and has its own unique history with beautiful art deco buildings. I booked this hotel after a series of fiascos with Airbnb hosts, and was so happy I did. Very comfortable room. Even though it has a dated look, everything was in excellent condition and clean. I like how the bathroom and wardrobe closets is separated by a door which makes it feel like a suite. I only had a shower but from other photos a bathtub is available. The concierge told me they have plans to update. However, I hope they keep some of the old school features with the crown mouldings and plasterwork. Breakfast was included which is nice before jumping into the fray. The hot food was not too exciting but I liked the baked goods, yogurt, and beverage choices. I will probably stay here again if I return to Prague.

It's also convenient to walk to all of the attractions. The staff at the Jewel truly go above and beyond to help you and make you feel comfortable. The two men at the front desk always answered any questions and gave extremely good advice. The maids leave your room impeccably clean daily with added bonuses like water with fresh fruit, and turn down service with dessert. The lady who works in the cafe at breakfast is one of the friendliest humans I've ever encountered, and OMG, the breakfast food! There is street parking and garage parking but we opted for street parking this time. The room we were placed in had a view of the river and the lighting was nothing but perfect! It was spectacular for pictures. I was in awe of the actual room and was amazed by the decor. Needless to say, they had a Nespresso machine in the room and I am HUGE on Nespresso machines being made available for a hotel stay. In the morning, we had unlimited breakfast with mimosas and it was fantastic. My only regret was the fact that I didn't take advantage of the spa, but had I been in Czech longer, I would have had a spa treatment for sure. Let's get into the Bar on the first floor. We were introduced to some of the best wine I've had in a while. The penthouse has a bar/lounge area which is beyond dope. It's called the Casablanca and the drinks are signature drinks! The service was great there as well. **My only suggestion would be to supply wash clothes for the guests. This place is miserable, and the staff are miserable. Avoid at all costs!…read more The entrance has about a half flight of stairs and the bellhop stands inside a window glaring at you while you drag your items up the stairs, no friendly greeting or offer to help. The front desk people are sitting there, looking at their cell phones and act like you are invisible. When they finally decide to address your presence they act like they're doing you a favor checking you in. We booked a room that was supposed to be a luxury room with a view of the river. The room was a tiny box with a bathroom, with a window at the end. They charged us the full price for this room, but never divulged the fact that our room was actually overlooking a construction site with a distant view of the river. In the closet, there was one pair of slippers for two people, and no robes. we asked if they could send some robes up, what they delivered were threadbare robes with a rough unpleasant texture, one of them had the pocket torn and halfway hanging off. The bath towels were similarly disgusting. My girlfriend went to take a bath, but the stopper was broken, and the tub wouldn't hold water. Our stay was for a couple of days, including over New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve we wanted to go up to see if we could have a drink at the bar overlooking the city. Even as guests staying in one of the priciest rooms, we were told we weren't allowed by some snotty young women because they were having a New Year's Eve party. We looked around the corner and the place was basically empty - this was well into the evening, so it's not like the where I was going to pick up, I think they were just afraid they might have to do some work or wait on someone. We went down to the lower lobby bar to get a couple of glasses of champagne and again it took forever to actually get anyone to provide any service. The night before we left, my girlfriend, unfortunately, came down with a fever. Somewhat later in the evening, she asked if I could go down and get some water. I asked at both the front desk and the bar if they could provide us with a couple of carafes of water for her to drink throughout the night. They said they didn't have water like that available for guests and tried to sell me bottles of water - there were literally empty carafes on the counter behind the bar. They suggested that I walk to one of the local stores to buy water if I needed more than the small bottles they were willing to sell me. This was one of three hotels we stayed at on our trip, including in London and Salzburg. This was the most expensive room by far as we thought we would splash out for New Year's Eve, and it was by far the worst room and service of any of them. They basically ruined our entire holiday. As a note, on the site that I originally booked through, all of the other other hotels ask you for reviews after your stay, but this one somehow managed to block us from even being able to leave a review on that site as we told the manager how unhappy we were, and they were not willing to do anything for us. I assume they did it preemptively knowing a bad review was coming. I would give this property zero stars if it was possible .

I consider myself a progressive thinker and a very open person to new things, but when it comes to décor, there is no doubt I gravitate towards the old-fashioned and traditional. Such was the case when I just traveled to Prague for a glorious week and stayed at the Hotel Hastal in the Old Town. What a beautiful city Prague is. Besides that it is clean and safe and welcoming and affordable, I was blown away by how many old buildings are still intact. All you have to do is look up, and each building has some glorious architecture at the top. Maybe a statue, maybe an unusual shape, maybe a glorious terrace. What really blew me away was that the Jewish quarter is still intact. Hitler's plan was to demolish and eliminate the Jewish people and turn Prague into a kind of museum. This is where Jews lived. This is where Jews prayed. This is what a Jew looked like. This is what a Jew wore. Thank God his sick plan did not take effect and even with the devastation of the Jewish Community throughout Europe, Prague holds incredible Judaica from all the synagogues Hitler ravaged during World War II and the synagogues in Prague are still intact. Can you imagine being able to walk into a synagogue that's 500 years old. It was an amazing experience for me as a Jew! I decided to stay at Hotel Hastal in the Old Town. It was just what the doctor ordered. Everything was in walking distance. I never had to take a bus or a train. I just simply walked to everything and I loved it. It justified my funnel cake filled with ice cream!! The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous and so old-fashioned and filled with incredible old world charm. The entrance, the staircase, the elevator, the reception area, the outside garden, the library, the room and the bar that served as our breakfast space in the morning. All these spaces are beautifully decorated with the original woodwork and artistry of its creators. The reception staff was incredibly helpful and guided me in the right direction always as far as where to eat and where to go and how to get there. The breakfast buffet was gorgeous. I wish I ate more in the morning because there was so many options. Fruits and vegetables and yogurt and eggs and cheese and coffee and tea and the list goes on and on. I especially loved their fresh warm bread with a good crust. Every morning I I loved the eating that bread with a cup of coffee... followed by everything else! LOL! Sometimes after a long day of walking I enjoyed a complimentary cup of hot tea and sitting in the library and taking it all in. So beautiful. Sometimes I woke up early in the morning and loved being able to run downstairs and get a cup of coffee even before breakfast officially began. They even provided some brandy for me in my room. I wish I drank! I could go on and on, but this place is really a gem. I thought the price was quite reasonable for what you got and for the quality of the experience. It was so conveniently located that quite often I would sightsee for a couple of hours, come back to my room to regroup and head out again. Makes a big difference when you're 72! I would have to put Prague near the top of my list of European cities I have visited. In general. I like Eastern Europe much more than Western Europe. It reminds me a lot of how I envisioned my grandparents lived before they emigrated to the United States. Do yourself a favor and go take a vacation to Prague. Filled with history, incredible Jewish synagogues, great food, easy to navigate, gorgeous churches, wonderful classical concerts and Hotel Hastal!!!

You can tell that customer service is a priority here, especially Vjen, she went above and beyond daily. No ask was too small. Breakfast had great variety in both hot and cold options. I highly recommend and I will be back for sure!
