Victoria sat with us, provided coffee and water, laid out a map on the coffee table, and toured the map with her pen to make Prague our home. Victoria gives the guest a feeling of home, and she guides you with a city map through a walking tour that puts you at the center of the rich history of Prague - reaching back to the 1200s - and its vibrant, modern life. No other experience was like it. Victoria personally ensures the new arrival has all her questions answered - and opens up interesting new questions - and draws walking tours on the map. Victoria is one of the hotel managers, with Samantha, and Frank (the owner). After a pleasant, long sit-down with Victoria, the first-time visitor feels at home and confident in the cultural, historical city, only a short walk outdoors. Victoria ensures you know where to eat, which definitely includes the Lokal on the same block, which has excellent Czech meals and final local beer (Pilsner Urquell), wines (the Czech terrain nourishes white wines) and liqueurs. This place is the absolute best. The owner, Frank, makes an enormous breakfast each morning complete with a massive selection of baked goods. Once the window for the hotel guests ends, the place is opened to locals. I love that no food is wasted. The rest of the staff are equally welcoming and helpful. A tall glass jar is filled with the best apples of your life, perfect for a weary traveler just checking in. The hotel is so cozy, pretty, historic, and the location can't be better. The employees were wonderful and, no, this is not written under the influence of the free alcohol served at all hours to be enjoyed in the picturesque lounge area with glass ceilings. They showed great attention to detail and were a pleasure to work with. For instance, we mentioned our upcoming wedding anniversary in passing to Lukas. On the day of our anniversary we were then surprised by delicious chocolate cake, a personalized gingerbread cookie and lovely flowers placed in our room. The effort and care taken to have a personalized cookie made is but a small example of the service we experienced while at Hotel Agnes. I wish I could rate Residence Agnes higher than 5 stars. There is so much to love about this place. First off, they are located right in the heart of historic prague, making it easy to walk to nearly everywhere you would want to go. Second, the hotel is a converted 13th century building that has so much charm and still has some of the original cobblestones, you feel like you are really able to see the history everywhere you look!! Third, the staff. I could not be more appreciative of the staff here. They are so friendly, so helpful, and are there 24/7 to help. Want a beer or glass of wine? They will have a complimentary glass in your hands in less than 30 seconds, throughout the day. Want a recommendation for where to go? They will spend 20 minutes talking with you about attractions or restaurants and the best ways to travel there or even seeing if someone from hotel can drop you. We have travelled around the world, but this was my first trip to Prague. We booked the Agnes Hotel based on the online photos and reviews. We agreed that the customer service here is world class- as soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted, offered drinks or coffee, and provided with personalized recommendations on what to do in our short stay in town. We were provided with recommendations for dinner, advice for touring, and a driver to take us to the castle. Every bit of advice was followed and we were not sorry. The restaurant that was recommended for dinner (The Blue Duckling) was excellent, the wait staff informed of our arrival and language needs. The driver was friendly, multi-lingual, and very informative. The location was a short walk to the town center. In short, we highly recommend the Agnes Hotel. The price is right, the rooms were well appointed and clean, and the staff was amazing. If I could give more stars, we would! read more

The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. They would do anything to make your stay more comfortable. They go above and beyond to help you plan a daily itinerary, from activity recommendations to helping you make reservations, and even offering to drive you in their hotel car! Everytime you enter the hotel you are greeted as if it was your first day with a warm welcome and free beverages. Wow! Our experience at this sweet little hotel made our trip ! We had traveled from Berlin and after Prague trained on to Vienna and then Budapest . Frank who owns the Agnes was extremely helpful and fun from the moment we arrived . Victoria greeted us and proceeded to sit us down offer wine or beer and help us get set up since our visit was just 2 nights. They did not disappoint with suggestions and helped with making reservations too ! We felt very welcomed, safe and quite taken care of!! I highly recommend this little hotel , the location was perfect and quiet. The staff was very professional and kind and our room was clean and roomy . My husband and I visited Prague in the month of April and stayed at the Residence Agnes. If there was a way to give more than 5 stars for this place, we totally would. The customer service they provide is absolutely world class, and unmatched. And believe us when we say this, everything you read about them in reviews, is one hundred percent true. Here are some of the things we appreciated/loved/liked: 1. It is quite centrally located. Everything is walkable in Prague. We averaged at 15k-18k steps everyday and did not need public transport for anything. 2. They provided a one time(either pick up or drop off) complimentary to/from the airport. This proved to be super helpful as this was our first time in Europe and we did not know what to expect. And having someone to pick you up from the airport just provides some comfort. 3. The hotel staff(ALL OF THEM) are super friendly and helpful. As soon as we walked into the hotel, we were greeted with a drink of our choice and the staff sat with us to find out if we had any plans, and if not, they helped with some planning. They not only suggest things we can do based on the number of days of our stay there, but also help with bookings and reservations. Another thing I was pleasantly surprised with was that they actually greet you with a drink every time we re-entered the hotel. It was just warm and nice. 4. They have an intimate spread of complimentary breakfast in the morning. The thing that makes this hotel so cozy and warm is that it doesn't feel very commercialized. The breakfast is a simple continental breakfast with vegetarian options along with some really well baked pastries like quiches, muffins, biscuits and cakes. I heard that one of the hotel staff herself is the baker and does this mostly by herself. It was so so good (especially the orange marmalade biscuit - they were excellent :D) 5. They took care of our dirty laundry !! :O :O While devouring our trdelnik, we ended up dropping some chocolate on our ONLY jacket and we need urgent cleaning of it for our next day. We asked the front desk about it and instead of pointing us to an expensive laundromat, they did it for us, complimentary!!!!! I still can't stop thinking about how exceptional their service was. 6. My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Agnes December '18 for our honeymoon and I can say without a doubt that this is the best hotel I've stayed at, in any country. The service was absolutely top notch. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel at home, and they treated us like family. The decor was cozy, the original cobblestone floor unique and the rooms are inviting, with absolutely lovely soft beds. They were also happy to arrange transportation to anywhere we need to go, from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to anywhere in the city. I want to give a special mention to how amazing they were in making sure my wife, then 6 and a half months pregnant, was comfortable. She contributes a lot of her ease in her stay to the wonderful people of Agnes. I wish I could give them more than five stars. WOW! Impeccable service made our stay in Prague EVEN more memorable and incredible! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Recommended great local spots, helped us in getting registered for COVID testing to get back into the US, and were always treating us to beverages and snacks. Our room was perfectly sized, with fresh flowers and cookies from the neighboring gingerbread shop. Great complimentary breakfast. The hotel location is centrally located, perfect for checking out all of the sites. The building itself is so charming and well renovated, it was historically a horse stable. Hotel Agnes was the best hotel experience we have ever had. This includes hotels that were 5x the cost. Our stay started with a complimentary pick up at the train station followed by welcome drinks and the option to choose between rooms. The hotel is very old but recently renovated. The cobblestone floor (UNESCO preserved) on the ground level is the same cobblestone as the road! Our room was the attic room and had a great view! Everything was spotless. The rooms aren't as ritzy as other 4 star hotels but had so much charm. We had no complaints. We both agree that the staff really made the experience special. Mikey took time to sit down with us and help us plan our stay. Every time we left they offered water and every time we returned they offered us complementary drinks and snacks. I usually had a red wine (French) which was excellent and my fiancé stuck with a local beer (also wonderful). In addition, they give you the option of taking to go drinks to the room. The breakfast was included and amazing. The best streusel we've had in Europe (we've been trying at least two a day at different places). Breakfast included home baked goods, cheeses, crepes, eggs, etc. I can't wait to come back! read more

Holy. Hell. The service at this small, elegant hotel made me feel like I was on my honeymoon again. So attentive, friendly, helpful, and consistent by everyone. We had a departing train and were given bags for us to pack snacks along with two bottles of wine and even a bottle opener! Our room #405 was average by European size, nothing fancy but also well maintained. The bathroom had zero counter space, and the shower door didn't shut all the way. It however had a view of the cathedral outside, and some romantic draping around the bed. The downside is the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor, so you carry your bags up one level, and, the room has a weird angle of the ceiling over the bed. The breakfast was extensive, delicious, and fresh. Included in the price, along with evening wine or tea. Great location to the square and our entire group commented frequently as to how impressive this hotel is. I will return to Prague just for this hotel. read more

Over the top service ...cleaned rooms... Agnes - 5-star service at a budget price. This is by far the Best hotel we have ever stayed at bar none! We have stayed at the Ritz & Fairmont hotels & even one of the top boutique hotels (French quarter inn) in Charleston, SC and Agnes by far surpasses all the others in service. From the minute we booked, Linda from Agnes contacted us and offered their help from picking us up at the train station to helping us to arrange yours. Wine/Beer & relaxation- We arrived late Sunday night (11:00 pm) at the train station and wished we have taken Agnes offer. We did figure out the public transit and arrived on the street of Agnes looking lost. But no fear , Richard was already outside the hotel expecting us. He took our bags, offered us complimentary wine/beer/water & told as to relax and no rush to take care check in paperwork. Richard is very Informative giving us maps & helpful hints to maximize our short stay in Praha ! Choices Richard showed us 3 available rooms to choose. While the room on the 3rd floor was a bit bigger, we would have been next to a few loud girls. We choose 405 which have a nice window overlooking the courtyard area & St Agnes across the way. Elevator reaches only the 3rd floor so a walk up a flight of stairs to the 4th floor is required. Our room was not too big - but not small - maybe about 200+ sq ft . A king bed, an armoire, desk, tv, safe & full fridge (mini-bar). Though it was a king bed, we each had our own comforter we made it nice. The bathroom - average size - great strong shower, medium plushy towels. Shampoo/body wash all in one .. Lotion ... But no conditioner. Agnes like all the other hotels in Europe are cleaned ! They all pass my clean test ! What is it with American hotels ? Only about 25% passes the clean test! Here - when a room is cleaned - they actually clean the rooms/bathrooms, not just run water to make it look cleaned. The sinks /showers are sparkling & no water beads stuck to the sides! Breakfast - awesome Eat like a king - coffee machine, cold cuts, abundance of fruits variety, many choices of bake goods from croissants to apple strudel, crepes, fresh bread, & more ... Better than 'mom' - they took care of our dirty laundry !! We asked the front desk for place to do laundry. They are so nice ... Instead of pointing us to the laundromat, they knew we were short on time and did our laundry for us .. Another surprising complimentary service. It would have cost us a fortune at any other hotel especially for same day service. Upon returning later that night, Lucas offered us a bottle of wine (complimentary) to take up to the room ! I asked about where I can buy postage stamps.... Again they took care of stamping & mailing my postcards - another complimentary perk! Frank the driver drove us to the train station for our departure. Frank is a delight and like the rest is of the staff at Agnes - Efficient and helpful. And Linda (I think that is her name) gave us a bag to take food for the train ride. Here is a place that deserves to be tipped unlike all the US places (especially Starbucks) that puts out a tip jar & expect to be tipped for doing extra. But the staff of Agnes happily go out of the way to accommodate us and then refuses our tips. Our cost per night was about 175euros per night. I have stayed in many hotels in my life, but I have to say that this has truly been my best experience thus far! From the moment we were picked up at the airport, our driver and then later the rest of the hotel staff were incredibly kind to us. We developed relationships with them very quickly. They sat down with us when we first arrived and showed us all of the best sights, restaurants, and attractions of the city, as well as offering us free rides whenever we wished. There is complimentary breakfast each morning with just about anything your heart could desire and the staff graciously offers coffee, espresso, wine, water, and other things all throughout the day! I cannot say enough about this place. It deserves more than 5 stars!!! They pick you up, do the laundry, cater to every minute detail and so much more! The hotel only has about 22 rooms so you have the feel of a B&B...delightful is not saying enough! The complimentary breakfast is fantastic (I so love my cappuchino!!!) and beyond anything you'd expect with more food than a person can eat! The rooms are wonderful and the shower has a drying rack and all the shampoo and body wash you need! The staff bent over backwards for us and could not have been any more fantastic than if you had booked a room at the Ritz!!! The location is right in the old section...a 5 minute walk to the square where everything is happening! The staff (Adore you Victoria and Frank!) sits down with you and helps arrange tours, dinner reservations, etc for you each day!!! My wife asked for desert, they had it available in 2 minutes (complimentary). I was looking for cigar shop, they drove me to a cigar shop and then to the train station (again complimentary). I wanted a simple local restaurant, Frank, the manager, walked with me and got the table during rush hour. This is a little boutique gem hotel in the center of Prague. Very conveniently located among many eateries and other attractions. 10 minutes stroll to Charles Bridge. As an American who is always skeptical of nice people and wondering what their "angle" is, the team members at Hotel Agnes are so kind that it takes a while to get used to the fact that they just want to make sure you have the best stay possible. Your bags are immediately taken from you upon arrival and taken to your room, the hostess acclimates you to the city and to the hotels services, and you're offered a refreshment (which are available any time of the day). The hotel personnel started to help us with our trip before we even left home. The service once we arrived was beyond our wildest dreams. They picked us up at the airport, drove us to our sightseeing location each morning, drove us to dinner, gave us metro tickets to get back from a location that would have been a long walk, put a bottle of wine in our room as a welcome gift, drove us to the train station when we left, etc, etc, etc. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. I usually think European breakfasts lack enough fresh items like fruit. They served more than a dozen kinds of fresh fruit and it was all great. The other numerous breakfast selections were numerous and tasty. If you need to leave the hotel before breakfast starts, they provide you with breakfast to go. Every time we came into the hotel and even when we were walking out, they asked us if we would like a beverage (water, soda, beer, wine, cappuccino, tea, etc.). Every person who works there is sincere in wanting to help the guests. We loved the service that Michaela provided and the person who checked us in spent 1/2 hour with us while we enjoyed a glass of wine and a beer giving us ideas of how to spend our time in Prague. One guest shared with us a delicious birthday cake that the hotel gave her when they noticed that it was her birthday from her passport and other information provided at check-in. She did not tell them that she was celebrating her birthday on this trip. The hotel also gave her a split of champagne. The hotel driver that took us to the train station carried our bags into the station and helped us find the correct train platform. One time, the regular driver was busy so the owner, Frank, drove us. Another time, Michaela called an outside car service. All of this fantastic service was complimentary! The hotel rooms are modern and nicely furnished. The common areas are nice and the guests tend to hang out there and chat rather than go to their rooms. I wish I could give this place six or seven stars. We have stayed in a lot of nice hotels in a variety of countries but never had the service we got here. I know I'm piling on to what others have written but it truly begins the second you walk in the hotel door (actually before - we were picked up at the train station). First class service. We had to catch a train early on a Saturday and they actually put the full breakfast out an hour early so we could eat before heading out (which didn't stop them from giving us a bag of sandwiches for the trip). We visited Prague on early July and we stayed at Residence Agnes for 3 nights. We reserved suite room for 4 of us and it was big for European standard. The room was very clean and their breakfast was excellent. Their staff members had the best hospitality, very friendly, helpful and they all speak fluent English. My husband had a gout attack while we were there and they really tried to help us out by providing us with local, fresh black cherries, which was beyond our expectations. They provided us with free transportations to most tourist places, and also train station. We'll definitely return to Residence Agnes when we return to Prague again. read more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Residence Agnes in August 2016 and could hardly believe the level of service we received here. The employee team treated us like family; they couldn't do enough for us. From airport pick up to laundry to driving us to dinner in the evenings to wine every time we came to the lobby...unbelievable attention to detail was their motto. After our 4 days at this property, we checked into a large upscale chain hotel which was part of our river cruise package. The hotel was newer, plush and nice, but we missed our new friends at Hotel Residence Agnes, so we went back to visit! We were welcomed with drinks and treated like royalty! The hotel rates include a delicious buffet breakfast with home made goodies. Rooms are small such as many are in Europe and they are not plush. The entire property is immaculately clean. The service and genuine friendliness of the staff made the start of our vacation an experience we will never forget. What a treat!
