This is one of my favorite hotels in Vail. I stayed here years ago for a wedding when it was Vail Cascades and remembered what gorgeous views it has as soon as I walked through the front lobby. It has a really great indoor /outdoor spa . I recommend the facial. It was hands down the best yet. The heated pool and jacuzzi makes it perfect for snowy weather. I am very happy with the service in the hotel and I look forward to a future visit. read more

Stay here. I mean it, stay here for your next ski vacation. Let me tell you why.... Truly a ski in/ski out resort. And if you ski and wear ski boots, you know how amazing it is to NOT have to walk far in ski boots while also carrying your skis and poles. The ski valet at this resort is top notch. When you check-in they instantly take your skis/poles/boots and check them into the ski valet. If you need to rent equipment, they have that as well. When you are ready to ski, you head down to the ski valet and check in at the entrance, you are assigned a bench and someone brings you your boots. They have baskets under the benches for shoes/anything else you don't want to bring skiing. Next, you walk about 20 feet to the alphabetically organized ski rack to grab skis or snowboard and then walk maybe another 20 feet to the lift or ticket counter. Amazing! When you are done for the day, you can ski in or download on the cascade lift. I did both options and I definitely preferred taking the lift down the mountain after a long powder day. They also know how to do après. Live music, s'mores, fresh cookies, cocktails, two hot tubs and a pool that is right next to gore creek. The lobby always had guests enjoying the lounge and après. I didn't get to try the lounge menu but it is on my list for next time. The rooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom was a dream, beautiful shower and tub. Service was excellent. On two different occasions, we needed extra towels and an extra robe and slippers for the hot tub, they arrived within 10-20 minutes of the request. All staff was beyond helpful, I always felt welcomed. Concierge was also able to answer all our questions about dining and dress codes for restaurants at Vail Village. They also offer a shuttle to and from the resort to Vail Village and Lionshead. Only thing I didn't like was that the shuttle stopped at 10pm. Most nights it wasn't an issue but I think the shuttle should run till at least 11pm. read more

We arrived at mid night after a long day hiking at Rocky Mtn NP. We get quickly checked in by a female front desk agent who explained everything and do a valet parking for us. She also handed out resort information & daily activities; they also provide shuttle bus to Lionshead & Vail Village. The hotel only offers valet parking which cost 45$/day. Found our way to the room after some confusion, our room is located on the 1st floor (?I think?), has a small terrace look out to the mountain. The room is beautiful & spacious; high ceiling makes everything look airy. Good comfy bed as always. Bathroom has his and her sink, nice lighting; standing showers with all white marble around & rain shower. The next day morning we tried out their hot tub which was fabulous with Mountain View. I can't say enough but in love with this hotel. We hope to come back some time soon in the future and stay for couple days for our anniversary. We paid our room by Hyatt points so we didn't have to pay anything included resort fees, which I think is a steal deal. read more

Designed beautifully. Nice amenities. Lots of the resort amenities were shut down during our visit because it was in between season. And there is construction. The shower flooded when used. It was a very nice shower. Just did not drain and flooded with each use. There was some broken or missing hardware in the bathroom, like sink handles and towel hangers. The staff was awesome. Truly. Billy and Elaine and the concierge and the valet/shuttle driver. Excellence top notch service. I would come back again just for the service that they provided. They all made us feel special. Visited with family and kids during COVID-19, you need to book swimming pool area in advance, we had no problem to book it. Warm pool, very clean. 2 jacuzzis. Employees sanitized chairs after each visitor. Very friendly front desk, we were checked in quickly. Free shuttle going to Vail Village every 30 minutes. Beautiful place. So, I'll lead with the story: I usually do not stay at places like this as they are not in my price range generally. But I had a horrible experience checking into the La Quinta in Silverthorne and I had a long drive that day so I checked into this hotel for July 6th, leaving July 7th. In total for one night in the most affordable room they had I spent $550: remember that they do not advertise the "resort" fee with the price so that is extra (but part of the price above). The good- the bed was extremely comfortable. And clean! The whole room* was clean and very fresh feeling and the AC unit was nice and quiet and the bathroom* was very lovely. Also, it's right next to a beautiful stream and in the morning I just kind of marveled at the stream a bit it really is lovely. The restaurant had a delicious breakfast and a fantastic staff, I would highly recommend the Chair 20 Omelet. And I just asked for a latte with some vanilla in it, but also that was delicious and for not a worse price than a Starbucks. I'm going to call my $30 breakfast a good deal: and I don't usually spend $30 on breakfast! The bad- that "*" above is for the only unclean part of the room: the shower head! I have a pet peeve about this, all it takes to clean a shower head is to unscrew it from the pipe and let it sit in white vinegar for a couple of hours, then brush off the face with a dish brush. I do not have pictures, but I wonder if anyone has actually used this shower in a while? I know it's been a bit since covid lockdowns ended but I did spend some time wiping the shower head clean. Also, it came with one of those attachments that is attached to a metal hose but the switch on the shower that turns it from the waterfall shower to the hose was broken. So both ran at the same time and the water pressure was a bit underwhelming. Still, I did really enjoy my night here. If I could afford it, I would come back more often. read more

This place is very expensive at $1,400.00 a night, which I don't mind paying if the service reflects that. However they are extremely understaffed and we had to wait 45 min for breakfast even though they had over half the tables in the restaurant available. I will never come back to this hotel. read more

The hotel itself is nice and in a great location. When we arrived, 5 hours after being notified that our room was ready, we found a free standing freezer sitting in our living room...asked the front desk to have it removed....a bit strange. We then noticed that a mask a a bottle of partially drank pelligrino were still on the patio from the last guests...notified the director of operations and he said it would be handled...housekeeping has come and gone with no improvement to the patio trash situation. At $1,200 per night, I expected a bit more cleanliness and quicker response to a couple of easy fixes. read more

Great hotel. Bad communication. We booked a room from a call center apparently. I actually called twice to make sure we could get the bedding situation we needed for my family of 4. The operators both said ok. And we booked it. When we arrived the receptionist said they could not accommodate us. And that we should have called them directly at the front desk. I did call the hotel and asked for reservations. How am I suppose to know that we are calling a call center? Front desk was not helpful and tried to make it sound like it was my mistake. I did like the hotel and the bed sheets were very comfy. The valet guy was helpful for our tall vehicle. But the front desk situation was less than helpful. read more

My husband and I decided to get away for the weekend and booked a suite at this hotel. I was beyond disappointed at the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and overall appearance of this hotel. We paid a very high price for the suite and it looked as if whoever cleaned it barely did their job. The room also looked old, the furniture wasn't very neat, and I was shocked we had to pay $40 for self parking. It wasn't a money factor but the fact that self parking was the same price as valet seemed ridiculous. Their suite level definitely lacked extra amenities. We will most definitely not be returning to this hotel. I have stayed at much nicer in Vail for a fraction of the cost. I was going to complain to the manager right when we got to the room, but after driving for hours we just wanted to go to bed. Very disappointing Hyatt. read more

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Valet set the tone w a warm welcome and valuable info about the convenient shuttle running often to Vail Village. Love the Moet vending machine in the lobby, one of only 15 in the world I hear. Then super friendly Samera at the front desk went the extra mile and set us up in the perfect suite for our anniversary and gave us excellent hotel info. Later in the evening Billy w the cool boots and great convo at the front desk let us into the market after hours so we could get drinks and late night snacks. Everyone was incredibly helpful and remembered us even after being there only 24 hours. Gorgeous hotel and outside surroundings. Huge amazing private jacuzzi. Happening bar and pool area right on the creek and fantastic natural forested walking or biking pathway. Highly recommend! We will return! read more

We had such a great experience at the Grand Hyatt Vail. The location was wonderful - with a ski lift right at the hotel, the ski valet made it super easy, and it was easy to get into Vail Village with the convenient Hyatt shuttle (runs every 15 mins). The staff throughout the hotel, from the ski rentals, to the Resturant staff were incredibly helpful, genuinely friendly and a pleasure to be around. The rooms were comfortable and the hot tub was great after a full day of skiing. We can't recommend this hotel enough. read more

The hotel is nice and the location is great but today I was checking out 449 and was shocked to see charges for resort fee and parking that no one at check in advised me of at all or I wouldn't have been shocked, I called the lady at front desk and she was English sounding and she was very condescending and argumentative about it and even though no one advised me of any of it she likes well you are paying it. Horrible service. I am okay with fees when I am informed properly of them and this case I was not and to call and get a woman like this just adds gas to the fire. I expected better service from Hyatt. Next time I will stay at the four seasons. read more

Families, be aware of what this hotel has done to us. I almost never write negative reviews and always give places/people the benefit of the doubt, but this hotel definitely deserves this negative review. I booked a family trip from Dec 21st-Dec 26th as a Christmas present for my children. I am a Hyatt member, but booked through trip advisor because the rates were much lower. I booked the room on 9/2/23. I spoke with the hotel front desk on multiple occasions the week of Dec 11th to book restaurants, request a humidifier in the room, etc. Then out of no where I receive an email on Dec 15th that our hotel room was canceled. There is absolutely no explanation given, other then mentioning that hotel is over booked!!!!!! My husband and I have been on the phone multiple times with front staff and reservation management since 12/15. We heard different things including, "It was a mistake," and "You will be offered somethings at cascades." To make matters worse, no one even updated trip advisor that the trip was canceled! Someone from trip advisor even contacted the hotel on 12/17 and they confirmed that the room was not canceled despite them sending us an email and communicating by phone with us otherwise! So now trip advisor is unable to help us find alternate accommodations for our trip. It's Monday and some how the hotel is unable to offer a different room as the manager is out. Are you seriously saying that no one is able to look up at available rooms and assign us one other than the manager?! That's ridiculous, especially that I see king size rooms available online!!!!! "Call tomorrow and we will offer you a room at the Cascades when the manager is in." I am not interested to stay at the Cascades! If I were, I would have booked there in the first place! It's truly sad and frustrating for this hotel to ruin my kids' Christmas present. I hope this doesn't happen to any other family. Of note, Connor at the front desk, was the only person who truly tried to help us. read more

I travel around 90 nights a year for work and that has turned me into a super boujee traveler. I am usually way to critical of hotels because I'm spoiled on the road. Mountain hotels are typically really old and outdated. Well the $85 million Hyatt put into this property was well spent! The lobby and rooms are modern, with great finishes and feel welcoming and lux! The staff at the front desk were helpful and really tried to be accommodating but unforch, this property is still so new that there are kinks to be worked out. For starters, there was no hot water in the room and the elevators are probably the same ones from when this place was built 40 years ago. The front desk said the spa was open till 6 so when I went there to book services at 5:30 they were closed with the door locked. Fortunately, they called me in the morning and for me in. The spa was wonderful, great use of space with hot and cold showers, sauna and steam room. The relaxation room was very comfortable and I spent some time just reading there before and after my services. The front desk gave me a very generous 2:30pm check out so I had time to enjoy the spa! I did a body scrub first with a therapist who was fun to talk to and noticed how tight my neck and shoulders were. She fit in a bit of a massage during our time to help and gave me the extra lotion, cream so it didn't go to waste! The facial was fantastic, the therapist had the hands of an angel! She also upgraded the products she used on me because it was my birthday! So nice! Being the week before thanksgiving, the hotel had a ton of great specials. The spa services were 30% off and the restaurant was doing a 2 for 1 entree deal. We did t eat here but still a steal of a deal. This really is a great property and I look forward to seeing how well it operates with a bit more time. I expect that this will be my go to resort for the winter season. I'll update this as I continue to visit... Plus they have a Moet and Chandon vending machine in the lobby! Whoop!! read more

Tucked snug against the gorgeous Vail range, The Grand Hyatt Vail is a stunning, one of a kind hotel. With pines, aspens and rock rising up around it, the hotel leaves a lasting impression on a visitor, whether they have never seen mountains before, or are merely visiting from Denver. The lobby is gorgeously designed, and the staff was polite at every turn. We did have to wait an hour for our room after the check-out time, which was annoying, however - they gave a very generous late check-out because of it, which was great customer accommodation. The pool was small but lovely, and the space is thoughtfully designed with glass that reflects both the fire and the water all around night swimmers. The hot tub was crowded; I can't imagine it will be anything but overflowing when ski season arrives. In the morning, we ate breakfast at the Marketplace which was chic and full of generous options; however, no one at the counter seemed to have any idea what they were doing; I was given another man's sandwich, and my friend had to stop a coffee from pouring over; the girls who worked there were clueless but adorable. Our room was lovely, the beds comfortable and the bathroom fabulous. The hotel is still ironing out it's kinks, but it will undoubtedly take it's place among Vails elite hotels. read more

Convenience, convenience, convenience. Grand Hyatt Vail stands out with its many amenities that they offer. For people who love to ski but hate to wait in any lines this is the perfect hotel. The ski lift is located literally in the hotel. Their ski valet is very knowledgeable and helpful. Your ski boots await you in the morning nice and warm and in less then 5 min you are on your way up on the Ski lift. All the services that the hotel provide are a breeze. They have a nice Après Happy Hour with live music entertainment and the outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi come in handy after a day of skiing. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling with kids. Last thing I would like to add is that the ski slopes on the Cascades side are less busy, meaning you can ski way more without any wait time. Once you are done you can ski your way down all the way in front of the hotel, where the ski valet awaits you. It's just perfect! read more

First let me start with this is not a ski in/ out hotel. You actually have to take a small lift, which takes you down to Lionshead Village Gondula. Your only other option is to take a shuttle. Ski down would prbably be viable for experts only and when there is at least 2 ft of snow in lower mountain. Otherwise you are stuck with a shuttle on the way back. Keep in mind the shuttle's lines were insane and had to wait for 30 min to get back on my second day. Second and mainly the reason for the 1 star is their rude attitude after they made a mistake. I was charged $500 extra and called to make sense of the charge. I was told that it was only a pre-autorization, even thou the emplyee that took my card, said he will only put it on file. When I called to fix the mistake, the front desk employee advised that it is only pre authorized and that it won't be charged after which she blatenly hand up the phone on me. I called back and was trasnfered to accounting's voicemail. I called again and got trasnfered to accounting again. On my 4th call, demanding to speak with a manager, Madelin picked up the call and realized that they have actually charged my card instead of pre-Authorizing it. After I explained that it took 4 attempts of me to resolved this and asked for the emplyee that hang up the phone on me, I was told that she could not provide this information. No applogy, no assurance that she will handle the matter, none. Adding the fact, that for $1000 a night, they charge you for brekafast, valet and anything else you can think of, this will be my last stay at any of the Grand Hyatt resorts. Stay away! read more

For a hotel at a destination spot, it was nothing special. I have stayed in better hotels in Spokane, WA with more character. Service at the Fireside bar was terrible. Bartender was more interested in playing with his POS machine than serving the many customers at the bar. At one point, I had to walk around the bar and talk to him to order more food and drinks. He seemed annoyed. Hyatt sent a survey after my stay and shared my thoughts. Got an email back that basically said, "Gee we sucked for you, hope you enjoyed our lip service in this email." Usually, Grand Hyatt want people to come back. Guess not this one. Don't recommend, look elsewhere for your stay in Vail. read more

The only thing this hotel has going for it is it is in Vail. It doesn't honor any Hyatt status offerings, you only get slippers if you know that you have to request them, I guess that $1.50 would break this overpriced hotel. It's valets seem to be too busy to be bothered by people wanting there cars. The restaurant staffs are off putting and rude. The rooms have a strange layout the bathrooms are by the doors with the bedrooms being as far as possible away from them. read more

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. We came back this year because last year was so wonderful. This year it was disappointing. Dirty lobby bathrooms every time I went in. Restaurant is closed after breakfast until 2:00. You can eat at the TIKI bar, but it is a set menu and not always something for everyone. Food is ok, but very average. Loud parties till midnight that are uncontrolled. Pool needs resurfacing and was dirty every day with food from the night before. Pro's beautiful view! Some of their staff are standouts - Roxanne, Christine - daytime concierge, Patrick finally stopped the screaming keeping everyone awake and Chris at the bar! read more

Extremely overpriced and not so good customer serviced. Found the staff to be very rude and hotel to be overcrowded and lack of employees to service the clientele. Stayed during the week between Christmas and New Years and the prices were extremely inflated. If you plan to ski in and ski out do not stay here, if you plan to be close to vail village do not stay here. Yes there is a shuttle that takes you into town but it stops running at ten pm meaning if you missed it good luck getting back to the hotel with a lack of Ubers and public transportation. Overall I did not enjoy my stay and would've preferred staying in town closer to the mountain read more

When I stayed at the Hotel Talisa in Vail in September 2018, I was injured inside my hotel room by a design flaw in the building structure. The staff and management refused to do anything about my injuries -- no doctor, no Tylenol, no kind word. It was as bad an experience as I have ever had at a major hotel. Shortly after that, Hotel Talisa, not unexpectedly, went out of business. But now the Hotel Talisa has reopened and it is passing itself off as the Grand Hyatt Vail. If you want to stay there, know the history of the place and be on guard. Unless it has been redesigned, stay out of Room 439. read more

We absolutely adored our stay here. We don't usually stay at places this fancy, but we were able to find a great discounted rate directly through Hyatt for the days before Thanksgiving. For reference, we are a 27 year old and 31 year old traveling with a 7 year old large dog. For starters, the property is gorgeous and very dog-friendly. There are nice nature paths into town that are great for dog walks. The free shuttle into town is also very useful (although not always on time). They had free champagne, a hot beverage (hot cocoa/cider), and cookies daily in the lobby during our stay. They had a decent massage special that we took advantage of. The employees were all polite, friendly, and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and posh. They have their own ski lift, although it wasn't open during our stay. We chose to get our ski rentals elsewhere, but but they stored our gear on-site for free. We would love to come back in the future! read more

I was there with my family last week. During check-in, I noticed a couple young girls at the desk. They were trying to help a guest that was being rude and irrational in regards to his request for upgrade. These girls handled it with poise, hospitality, and graciousness. you should be very proud of the girls at the desk. I know in this day and age with the entitlement that some people possess, it's employees like yours that you should be most proud of. I hope you pay them well. You're very lucky to have them. Went for the champagne sabrage and apres cocktails and was not disappointed. The floor to ceiling windows are gorgeous to look out while sipping champagne, which is gratis at around 4:30 daily. Our server was attentive and kind, despite being busy, and the pretzel bites we ordered were a great compliment to our drinks. Beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view. read more

Had a pretty decent stay a few weeks ago. I wish the communication re: COVID procedures were a bit more clear. Didn't know about pool reservations until we arrived and by the time we were able to book, most slots were taken. Staff was amazing, room was nice but wish we had a balcony. Food service is limited and based not the food we had on property, you're better off eating elsewhere. With that said, it was a decent stay. read more

I stayed at this hotel with a group, dinner an entertainment was provided by the group, and room hospitality was through the hotel management. Overall, I was unimpressed and frustrated at times with their lack of service. I don't know if they had limited staff due to COVID or other reasons, but they certainly were struggling to accommodate basic guest needs, such as check in, cleaning rooms etc. The poor concierge was overwhelmed, I couldn't even get to talk to her during my six night stay. The rooms seem remodeled and decent, many other areas of the hotel show neglect and poor management. read more

Was disappointed at the quality of this place for being a Grand Hyatt. The rooms lacked simple amenities (like an iron). However, the most frustrating aspect was the staff. About a quarter of the staff is friendly and helpful and the rest are really stuck up. While walking past a red headed staff member, I heard her opening talking poorly about guests nearby. Our room had a terrible rumbling sound that would cut off our water so we had to move rooms with another group we were with. Took a few hours to sort of that mess. I have stayed at motel 6's with better customer service. This place is understaffed and constantly coming short it's not worth paying $900 a night for this type of service. If you are ok paying a premium price to be close to the mountain but nothing else this is the place for you. read more
