My family and I stayed here for the week of Christmas and the Ritz made it a fantastic experience! We had a 3 bedroom residence which has a very spacious living room and fully stocked kitchen. This common area really elevated our family time on this vacation and the Ritz staff was very responsive to any of our needs for additional kitchen pots or plates. I was really impressed with the Ritz in how accommodating they were in getting to the slopes as well! They made the whole process very effortless! We were able to put on our boots at the Vail Sports downstairs and then take a Ritz shuttle to Lionshead Village where Ritz staff would help us get our skis from the check. I had an issue with my boots one day and the staff were more than happy to accompany me to the Vail Sports at Lionshead to make a switch. We also appreciated the complementary coffee bar in the mornings in the lobby and the hot chocolate and teas available throughout the day (I only wish that they had marshmellows for the hot chocolate!). We were also quick enough on a few occasions to snag some cookies at 3:00 from the lounge before they were gobbled up by other guests and they were phenomenal. Needless to say, the Ritz pulls out all the stops to make sure that their guests are happy. All the facilities were clean and updated but what really makes the experience is the amazing customer service of their staff. Every member of the staff that we interacted with went out of their way to ensure that we were having a great stay. Thanks to the Ritz, we had a fun ski vacation and a nice holiday!

We visited with some friends who are Marriott members, and we stayed in a two-bedroom residence just earlier this week which is apparently considered the off-season, but we loved that the hotel was quiet and sometimes we felt like we were the only ones there . It was a wonderful experience, start to finish. The residence is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The views are gorgeous. The kitchen is well stocked with really nice appliances so you can cook your meals here if you want to (the coffee maker requires cone filters- we guessed the wrong kind when grocery shopping- just a heads up). The bathrooms are beautiful with a separate shower and whirlpool tub and heated floors! We wished there were more places to hang your towels and robes. We appreciated the TV's in each room and the DVD player too. There are many areas throughout the hotel to sit and gather- it is really beautiful. We appreciated that there was cold fruit water offered 24 hours a day and thought the breakfast was better than expected- fresh fruit cups with watermelon, pineapple, or melon, with yogurt with granola. They have delicious hot tea selections too. The fitness center is huge and has everything you could want- free weights, many machines, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and things I don't even know what they were! They have cold water, water bottles and towels for you and even newspapers, magazines, and earphones. We took a yoga class with Tom Hays and were all extremely impressed with his knowledge, explanations, and how well he taught and educated us about yoga, fitness and health in general. He was humble yet knowledgable and personable. This was a highlight for all of us on our trip and we all said that if we lived there we would want to do personal training and classes with him because we were so impressed and had such a good time with him. What an asset to the Ritz Carlton in Vail! Every staff person we met was kind and helpful. The concierge desk was great and gave information about hiking, spas, and arranged bike rentals for our friends. Everyone was helpful, enthusiastic, yet not hovering. The valet was also great. Our rooms were perfectly clean. We appreciated a free ride to the grocery store. I understand that they also take you to Vail Village too. There are paths that lead from the hotel to the town of Lionshead and then to Vail Village- up and down hills and past a beautiful creek. Our friend loved running on this path and said she didn't even listen to her headphones since the view and sound of the water was so peaceful. On our walk to dinner in Lionshead the first night we saw a moose! That was incredible. Vail also has a free shuttle bus that is available through the towns- we had a little trouble with the altitude so this became very helpful. We couldn't believe that we could use the outdoor pool even when the weather was 37 degrees! The pool is nicely heated and the views from the pool are absolutely stunning, especially at this time of year. There are two hottubs and they were also great and just a little warmer than the pool, with the same views. The bathroom by the pool was large and heated and also well stocked with towels. The padded chaise lounges by the pool were also plentiful and comfortable. This place is beautifully landscaped in the front and in the back of the property- all around. We had a peaceful and wonderful time here- this place and its staff are definitely top notch. We all would love to return someday.

One of the prettiest hotels I have stayed in. The views are amazing. It is remote but once you get there you won't want to leave.

My recent stay at Tivoli Lodge in Vail was unacceptable and far below the standards one expects from a property of this reputation and location. We checked in after a winter storm and were assigned room 403 on the fourth floor. The room was freezing, with a heating unit that did not function properly. After contacting the front desk, maintenance briefly attended to the issue, but the problem was not resolved. During the first night, the heat became excessive and uncontrollable. With a new and inexperienced front desk attendant on duty, and the likelihood that no maintenance staff would be available, we were forced to open the balcony door in winter conditions simply to make the room tolerable. During that same night, water began dripping/leaking from the ceiling. The following day, after returning from breakfast, the room had again become excessively hot. The thermostat still did not function. Maintenance was sent once more and noted they repaired it, but within minutes, significant water dripping leakage developed not just a minor drip, but a steady and concerning flow from the ceiling and wall framing in both the entry and bathroom areas. Our carpets were drenched our sock wet At that point, we had no choice but to demand a room change and were moved to room 405, , which was a much larger and nicer room. While the heating system there functioned properly, it still presented issues, including a broken closet handle another clear sign of poor upkeep. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. Housekeeping staff pressured us by their immediate presence to vacate quickly so the room could be reset, despite the hotel being nearly empty. This was unnecessary and inconsiderate. Shortly thereafter, a staff member returned and knocked aggressively on our door over a forgotten item. The manner was inappropriate and unprofessional. Although there were moments of professionalism particularly a mature front desk associate with a Caribbean accent who was pleasant, friendly, and helpful I would also like to recognize her more fully. She stood out as someone who was genuinely trying her best to be kind, attentive, and helpful under difficult circumstances. Her demeanor, patience, and willingness to assist were appreciated and reflected the level of service the hotel should consistently strive to provide. Unfortunately, the overall experience still reflected a lack of coordination, training, and accountability. In contrast, a late evening desk clerk was unable to provide even basic assistance in locating open dining options, citing unfamiliarity with the area. I understand that between-season periods can present operational challenges. However, if the resort is open, it should be fully prepared to serve and satisfy the guests it chooses to accommodate especially when occupancy is so low. We did not create these problems the hotel did. Yet at no point did we receive a strong or meaningful apology, nor any gesture to help ameliorate the situation. Both are not only appropriate but expected under these circumstances. As a result of these ongoing issues, we made the decision to leave on Thursday instead of Friday, as we felt it was simply not worth extending our stay to the schedule day. This only compounded our disappointment it was a choice we made based on our experience. I would also strongly suggest that management exercise better judgment when the hotel is operating at very low occupancy. In such circumstances, guests should be proactively upgraded to the best available rooms rather than being assigned rooms with known or even obvious deficiencies. This experience reflects poorly on the management of Tivoli Lodge. A property that is largely empty has no excuse for assigning a defective room, failing to resolve repeated maintenance issues, and handling guest disruptions so poorly. Tivoli Lodge is a beautiful property with a great location, but this was a sad and disappointing experience. PD ...I would also like to note a truly positive experience during our stay at The Little Diner, a Vail institution well known for its accolades in both service and quality of food, delivered an outstanding breakfast experience. His professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness were exceptional and stood in sharp contrast to the challenges we encountered at the hotel. Jose Pienknagura 602-321-2004 Josepienknagura@gmail.com

The building is beautiful with a cabin type feel offering seating areas with a fire place to hang out and watch any weather going on outside. (At one point for us it was snowing and absolutely beautiful outside) The rooms are large with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms, a nice sized living room and dining space and every appliance and kitchen utensils you need to have meals right there in your room. This saved us a bunch of money from having to go out to eat all of the time with 10 people. It was large enough for us to have breakfast and dinner all together in one of the suites. Worked out perfectly. We noticed that one of the remote controls was missing batteries, so we used the one from the living room and all went well. Notified the front desk and they were on it immediately to get us those batteries. Great service! We did take advantage of the hot tub a couple of nights. They have an indoor hot tub and pool and an outdoor hot tub and pool, along with a sauna and a steam room. So many options and all free with your room. This is a great place to also bring a family. They have a playground and a free shuttle every 30 minutes to take you in to town for shopping and dining. This is a great property and I highly recommend then for a weekend or a week stay.
