Perfect wedding! Best vendor of the day! Can't believe they only have a two star rating for now. Had my wedding here last year and Grand Luxe was the best vendor on my list. Marzia helped us from the beginning to the end to plan out our best day ever. They helped us create a customized Asian fusion menu that tasted delicious! The food was cooked well and plated beautifully and was praised by all my guests. The portions were big and everyone was full! The venue comes with beautiful chivari chairs and we didn't have to pay more to rent our own chairs. The hall was nice and elegant with a beautiful bar. Bartenders were friendly and can do some fire tricks. Some of the walls had curtains and can be beautifully highlighted with uplighting. They offer white and black table linen but we decided to get our own silver linen which brightened up the place. They also offer their own picture frames as table numbers. Our head table was placed on a riser and they have projectors and screens for any video or slideshows. You need to bring in your own sound system. They have a podium and mic for speeches and a cake table as well. Marzia was flexible and accommodating with everything. They offered different size tables to allow better arrangement of the guest seatings. Was also able to accommodate guests that didn't RSVP! They have a variety of appetizers to be served outside the main hall and that area is beautifully decorated with chairs, mirrors, curtains and a floating bar for cocktail hour and desserts. Can arrange the tables however you like, we had a round table for place cards and also arranged our own candy buffet outside. They offer a signature drink of your choice which was pretty cool! They have a piano you can use in the cocktail area. They helped us arrange our special entrance into the dining hall that night. The food was delicious and they had special servers to serve the head table. Marzia and Justin were with us the whole night to make sure everything was smooth and timely. Asking us if the food and the temperature of the hall was alright. Overall we had a wonderful experience with Grand Luxe and we didn't really have anything bad to say about them. They were able to customize for us and cater to what we had wanted. Our guests also thought the service was superb. The dessert table was little bit lacking in the quality but that's a minor thing. The hall might not seem as Luxe as some downtown venues but can easily be fixed by bringing in your own decorator. But the service was definitely Luxe and better than a lot of those downtown locations. They have limited parking space but guests can also park on the street behind the venue which is pretty good considering many venues don't offer free parking. read more

Thank you Jessica for making our wedding a wonderful night. The Grand Luxe is a beautiful, single event venue with plenty of parking in a central location (no worries with DVP closures and parking downtown or the far drive up to Vaughan for our older guests). We had outside catering for our dinner and had the venue provide hor d'oeuvres and dessert, which were all delicious. My guests raved about the lamb chops and white chocolate souffle the most! Jessica coordinated well with vendors and her staff to make our night run as smooth as possible. Definite recommendation to all our friends who will be getting married in the future. read more

Beautiful & absolutely stunning venue. Stylish & mod! Goes with any colour theme! I've been here two times for a wedding. At one of them, I was the DOC & got to deal w/ Marzia. She was super efficient & we even got to sit down and go over the rundown before the reception began. Helps to have everything planned minute to minute. The food came out on time and at one pt it was only behind by approximately 15 mins, which imho isn't bad at all! Food was amazing. At the most recent wedding I attend, I picked the fish & that was delicious! Also liked the risotto & creame brulee :D I love that it is not unionized so couples can do whatever they want. Candy buffet, backdrop, bring in ur own cake, vendors, security, etc. They even allowed ppl to come in a day earlier to drop things off or decorate! Can't go wrong w/ Grand Luxe! Would highly recommend renting additional speakers if you have a lot of guests. Parking is limited but you can always park on Burbank. read more

We recently hosted our wedding at the Grand Luxe, and we have to say that the venue is uniquely beautiful, and the food is fantastic and of amazing quality, but the level of service that we received from the staff and owner prior to the event was enough to make us doubt whether we would have gone with them, had we known then what we know now. From the moment the contract was signed, it seems as though all communication with us ceased. The Grand Luxe's average response time is a week and a half to each email/call and even then, responses were incomplete. We spoke with the owner on several occasions who assured us that this service was unacceptable, but then proceeded to demonstrate the same behaviour. No wonder we had the feeling that this venue, which is by no means cheap, has only a 5-star rating on paper. If you go with this venue, you will have to use their in house system for lighting and sound, where a basic package (of a podium, mic and basic lights) will cost you thousands. Every detail will be nickle and dimed and they will fail on every occasion to advise you of extra fees. If you're like us, you'd like to work with professional, helpful and reliable people who will be responsive, upfront and have a standard of service. If so, we strongly recommend that you go elsewhere, or at least negotiate some standard of communication with them in advance. This is not about being high maintenance, nor is it about normal glitches that are bound to happen on the day of your event. This is about the operating style of this venue and its staff and owners from the second you're bound to a contract with them. read more

My spouse and I are so grateful for The Grand Luxe. We hosted our wedding at this venue and everything was fantastic. The event coordinators really know their stuff and made the whole event very little effort on our part (who know nothing of event planning). The staff were polite, professional and well coordinated. The venue itself is beautiful and comes pre-decorated so it really requires little in additional decor. The food was delicious-everyone was asking us who the caterer was and how they can buy the baked cookies. The venue is very helpful, accommodating and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to friends for their wedding. Even my never happy guests had nothing but nice things to say.... so RARE! We were told the event was very intimate for such a large guest count. Our guests were giving us endless compliments on the event ... which the venue really deserves. I fell in love with this venue when I attended my friend's wedding 2 years ago so as you can imagine, it was at the top of my list when I started planning my own wedding (Feb. 25th, 2017). The space is beautiful, with a perfect layout. One important factor for us was that the bar was right off the dance floor. We've been to weddings in the past where the bars are outside of the reception area, which means, people tend to gravitate there and don't end up socializing/dancing much. You won't have that problem at the Grand Luxe! The foyer has a beautiful fireplace, with a piano - adds a nice touch to the ambiance. The location was ideal for us. It was important to keep the venue in a neutral location, where our family and friends could attend without having to travel too far. The highway is super close, and everyone was happy with the travel time. The food is INCREDIBLE here! No matter what you pick off the long list of options, you'll be more than satisfied. You have the ability to customize the menu and offer suggestions, which I find amazing. They actually encourage it! My guests had nothing but positive things to say about every course - and of course, the sweet/savoury tables were an absolute hit. Last but not least, the STAFF! I have a hard time putting into words how amazing my experience was with Jessica, our coordinator and Demo, our DJ/MC (as well as sound/lighting guru). Jessica -- From the very beginning, she was an absolute pleasure to deal with and a true professional. She took to the time to get to know the type of couple we were and that truly meant a lot to my husband and I. We received such a good vibe from her that we ended up relying on her advice/suggestions for a lot of things and this resulted in us hiring her for the coordination of our ceremony as well. A day before the wedding when I realized we didn't have a certain prop (a custom handkerchief) for our traditional Macedonian wedding dances, she managed to find me a contact for someone who could make them within a day and Jessica offered to go pick them up for us since we had no time. She never hesitated to go above and beyond for us and we are so grateful to have such kind-hearted and understanding coordinator working with us. Our schedules were pretty hectic throughout the planning process, but she was always accommodating and made sure that we could reach her at any time (whether it be in person, phone, or email). I can't say enough about how amazing Jessica is and I would strongly recommend her to all friends/family going forward. Demo -- Another amazing individual! My husband and I were so pleased with him from the get go. He was honest, caring, and understood our needs very well. The fact that he's worked on several Macedonian weddings in the past was obviously a huge bonus, as well. He was well aware of our customs and provided great feedback throughout the process. He kept the crowd very engaged throughout the night, and he really knew how to get a vibe from the crowd to see what style of music to play. My guests were so pleased with him, and we obviously couldn't be happier with the level of service Demo provided us. Overall, our special day went as planned and imagined. We couldn't be happier! Terrible!! I booked My Wedding for September 2019 . Unprofessional staff , will pick and choose when to respond to you whenever it is only convenient for them. Director is unprofessional and can't keep his word . I reduced my guest count guarantee as we are a small family . When I shared my feedback about poor service and communication. Director (who is always late ) decided to cancel my booking after it was confirmed and fabricated an excuse that I am criticizing their organization and their price structure . i am actually relieved that I won't have to deal with them , And I wouldn't wish it for anyone. read more

I attended a fundraising event at Grand Luxe and was looking quite forward to an elegant evening after looking through the venue's website. The dim lighting and tastefully decorated ballroom seemed appropriate for the type of event being held. Note that there is very little parking space on the property (140 spots according to their website, but with all the pilons siphoning off certain spots and piles of snow everywhere, expect about 100 available spaces), located on Bayview between Sheppard and Finch (closer to Finch). Don't be surprised if you have to drive right through the lot into the residential street behind the property to find somewhere to leave your car. Upon entering the building, you may notice that the sparse foyer has a real church-y feel to it, It is very simple, nothing grand going on there. Coat check and washrooms are downstairs, along with some random renovations. Our event was being housed in the ballroom, the largest of their three rooms, and believe me when I say there was no LUXE happening in there either. The walls were mostly bare with some 90's style panels, and some curtains in one area, but other than that, the ceiling was painted black and if it weren't so high, might even resemble the ceiling in a church basement. There were some balloons clinging to the ceiling, not sure if they were left-overs from a previous event but there were only a few (ie, not even ten) so I've no idea why they even bothered. I looked around the room, and believe me, I am no decor expert, but I thought the least they could have done to give the space a semblance of opulance was to splurge for some fancy-ass chandeliers! I know nice lighting doesn't come cheap; I've even seen exhorbitant prices for ugly lighting but I think nice chandeliers would have made a world of difference. The Grand Luxe offers the usual range of services with their recommended caterers, MCs and DJs. I didn't find out whether the caterers were their recommendations but the food was pretty disappointing and service could have been a little more organized. I find wedding receptions and events such as this don't staff enough service staff so that half the room is done with their course before the other half has been served, or the desserts come out and are eaten long before coffee and tea make their debut. When we went to get some fresh air during the ceremony, there was a side door through which we could see the kitchen staff prepping all the plates in a little corridor. There were probably about 400 or so people in attendance and the ballroom is designed for ~650 (so says their website), so I can't imagine why there isn't more proper space for kitchen staff to do their work! I have never organized an event this size so I can't say whether this place is better or worse than others but with a name like Grand Luxe, I was expecting at least some grandeur, yet there was none. I have been to much better places but I can't fault the GL too much as I get the feeling that lights are usually dimmer so that one might not notice things like the ceiling and walls. read more

My cousin got married at Grand Luxe this month and I have to say everything was AMAZING- the whole family had a great evening!!! The feedback that we are all hearing is this has been the best wedding within the family in years! The food was delicious and the service was out of this world! Staff was so attentive and pleasant! Valet service, passed aps even the foyer was so beautiful and a nice extra touch! The room is so modern and beautiful I can't believe the minimal décor that was needed and the bar show with fire was so awesome to open the dancefloor! We had our wedding here in July 2018, and it was the best decision we have made towards planning our wedding. The venue is located in a very convenient area (Bayview and Finch) with a large parking lot... Very accessible from all parts of town as it is 5 mins away from the 401. From the very start, the Grand Luxe team have been exceptional in preparing and planning this special day with us. We had a tasting (which was included in the costs), which we were able to sit with the chef, who tailored every aspect of every dish towards our liking (we were very impressed and all the food was beyond our expectations. My husband and I are big foodies, and we were so glad we went with their in house catering company, everything was sooo delicious and restaurant quality). They served us exactly what they served our guests on the night of, quality, quantity and all. Jessica, our coordinator, was so easy to work with, always helping the best that she could, and very honest and genuine. She always replied emails on time, and she did her best to accommodate all our preferences as well as giving us tips and advice along the way. During the wedding night, everything went perfectly. Staff were extremely attentive to all guests, customer service was exceptional. All guests were so impressed at the service..(the waiting staff knew guests names and food restrictions/allergies)...It felt very personal and well-organized. The staff also ensured our bridal party sitting at the head table was comfortable, and always checked up on us, asking if they could get us a drink, or anything. If you are looking for a venue to deliver EXCEPTIONAL customer service, doesn't penny pinch, focuses on the details and how guests feel, very accommodating, and EXCELLENT food, i would strongly suggest you go with this venue and you will not be disappointed. I admit, I am a picky person, and I can easily say that this venue outdid everything.... my husband and I had the best night of our lives. It was unforgettable. read more
