Had no idea this place existed, I was a little disappointed with their selection, as I was unable to find two specific items needed for dinner. Most "international" markets have these items so I was a bit frustrated that I couldn't find what I needed. On the other hand, the staff were helpful, and friendly. This store features items from all over the world. If a particular brand of coconut milk, soy sauce, chili oil, pasta, jam, spice, etc., is needed, there's a very good chance it's here. But if not, there's probably a solid substitute on the shelf. I appreciate how the all the cans, jars, and packets of prepared foods for one country are found in a dedicated spot, and there's a lot of countries represented. I can easily go to the Turkish, Indian, Ghanaian, or whatever aisle and find what I want. There's a fresh produce section along with meats and fish too. But I'm just amazed by the wide array of international foods--this fact alone gets my undivided attention. Grand Mart is really quite a condiment heaven, and an excellent store for foodies in the DMV. The staff is generally helpful. I do enjoy shopping here. Don't let the location or its modest storefront fool you, there's a colossal amount of stuff inside! read more

Moved to the area in 2025. My husband and I visits this place every month and never really had issues other than the occasional stare. But the last two visits have assured me they have a problem. In December my husband and I visited the store. We were watched as we shopped so we quickly got what we needed and left. This last time today my husband went in to shop around 11:50am and was immediately approached by security asking to see his bag (book bag on his back). One of the cashiers alerted the security based on my husband appearance and he is a regular customer. My husband felt upset, embarrassed and profiled at his own neighborhood grocery. My husband still made his purchase and left the store. This grocery was walking distance to my home. I have worked in retail for over 7 years and at no point is it ok to treat customers that way just because they look a certain way and carry a bag with them. I will no longer spend money there and hopes other customers will be treated better. read more

The store is big but where ever you go everything is dirty and smelly. Almost all the girls in the flower department are very rude. Especially the bi*** with the glasses and blondish hair and kinda young. Was my first time there getting flowers so I obviously thought I had to ask to get them out the freezer since all the lady's where in front of them altering it , then I proceeded to ask the girl if she could assist me getting them and I kid you not she gave me the most dirtiest look ever and gave the the worst attitude ever saying "you get them your self..." mind you she wasn't doing anything. Recently went and got 3 lbs of meat (my husband picked it up) fajita for carne asada and when he brought it home it stank ! Horribly !! So went back and spoke with the manager and was able to return it and get money back with no issues . Went elsewhere to buy the meat. Please be careful. Have never had this issue when I've come here but this is definitely concerning. staff most of the time is friendly. Parking is annoying. Avoid parking at the back for safety reasons. Good place to get bakery or cakes. They have don't good about Covid . The security guard is always very pleasant guy. read more

Do not go to La Flor De Mayo Bakery located inside of this grocery store for custom cakes EVER! This does not look like ah $130 cake (will add pictures). They gave me every excuse talking about well it's cream not fondue and next time you have to let us know. Who pays $130 for ah cream designed cake?? They did this on the same day of me picking up the cake as supposed to doing it sometime in between when I ordered it a week prior. I asked for vanilla cake with vanilla fill-in and they put some type of pudding in it. The lines are sloppy... And everybody mouth was permanently blue from takin just a few bites. Im going to post a picture of what I showed them and then what I got. If I would've seen their IG page I wouldn't have ever went to them....I'm just finding it today. Anyway... This is what I asked for including the crown only cause the price was going up. They said they were going to call me mid week to let me know the extra cost for the crown (no call). Tried to call them several times through out the week (no pick up). Im stressed out cause the crown was the theme of the baby shower. Get there, they brought a crown...I'm like ok cool. Said it was gonna be done at 2pm (got there on time) baby shower was at 3pm. Cake done at 2:30pm. WOW! The last pic is what I went off of, they are not on yelp and the young lady assured me that it was going to look super nice. I even mentioned fondue! Their customer service definitely needs improving. The ladies are quick to catch attitudes, and then talk about you in their native tongue. I come here at least two or three times a month, but not any more. I went to purchase some items and I had a budget, Unfortunately I went over. I had to return the fish, the department manager had an attitude and told me not to come back there in front of customers. So because I was humiliated, I asked the store manager for a refund for everything that I did buy, to which he responds, "You're playing with me, Don't come back." I told him I come all the time, and says "I never see you" as if he remembers everyone that comes in. But needless to say, you would think that by them selling old meat that I wouldn't shop there. BUT THIS WAS THE STRAW THAT MADE THIS CAMEL SAY FUDGE IT!!. read more

The store isn't fancy by all means and has the natural odor of seafood and other vegetables. However, the place is clean and the vegetables are pretty fresh. I haven't seen anything moldy. Their East/South Asian and Indian and Middle Eastern selection aren't all that big and if you're looking for something specific, you might be better off at another store, but if you're just looking for general things like maybe gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) and the like, you can find it. Their Caribbean and Latino food sections are the largest and if you have WIC, it is accepted there. The prices are okay, but you can find a deal pretty often. EDIT: They no longer carry rice cakes, due to high supply and low demand, which is a huge bummer. And they won't be accepting WIC in April. read more

I would usually come here about once or twice a month. I recently bought some crabmeat & it was bad, took it back a couple days later and the manager pointed to the bottom of the receipt and said "1 day to return it" and walked away as I replied "I couldn't make it the next day". How rude, needless to say there are other International grocery stores within a good distance and I won't be making it back to this one. Safeway was replaced by Grand Mart. I'm glad there is a store that sells Korean groceries in my area but it's not a Lotte or Han Ah Reum Mart. They have a decent amount of basic Korean items.The store has prominently Hispanic foods. But, there is an aisle dedicated to Korean foods. And, there are other items scattered around the store. They are a little more expensive but you won't have to travel far to get what you want. The produce and seafood is fresh and there is plenty of parking. read more

Since our family moved here in 2011 we have shopped here 4 different occasions. I must say in our last visit we bought some whole hens, having to come back to get reimbursed since they where slimy, old, it had an awful smell gone bad. Very disgusting and disappointed they would sell something like this. I do have to admit they didn't question when asking for my money back, although just by looking and smelling the poultry they would know. Once upon a time, this Market was Grand and one could find all kinds of exotic fruit and prepared Koren yummies, but then they decided that their Asian demographic was not as strong as the Latin and so the market changed. . .While you can still get good prices on veggies and meat, I miss the precut packaged fruit and different kinds of fresh kimchi. read more

I visited the Annapolis rd location and was very suprised of several things, it was clean , and didn't smell of the seafood counter. The store is organized and spacious. The selection is unbelievable and fresh. It seems that no one checks the expiration dates on the merchandise because there's loaf of breads and bagels that have been expired for the past 2 weeks maybe longer because the bag of bagels had mold in it. So check dates before buying.. read more

The manager there is very rude and don't know how to be courteous to customers. I tried buying some steaks there, the cashier claimed it was wrongly priced. She took it to the manager who went around the back and changed the price. I refused to pay the new price placed on the packages and the transaction was cancelled. The cashier told me to go talk to the manager, which I did, He got rude waving his hand for me to leave the store. He started shouting "Go, go, leave, leave. This is the same man who went around the back to have the prices changed. He also said "Some of you might know people working here" alluding to the fact that I might know someone working there. Thus, the reason why the pricing was wrong on the steak, that I tried to buy. The steak was already packaged and sitting on the shelf. There were also empty spaces where I took the steak from. It was evident that other customers have purchase some of the same steak. Other packages of the same steak, priced similar to the ones I picked up was still sitting there as well. Instead of reprimanding the workers in that department for the pricing mishap, he took it out on me, an innocent shopper. I felt embarrassed and humiliated in front of the cashiers and customer.
