Most "international" markets have these items so I was a bit frustrated that I couldn't find what I needed. On the other hand, the staff were helpful, and friendly. The store was clean and I was able to get some good produce. I can't say that I will return, as they don't have the items that I needed.

This store features items from all over the world. If a particular brand of coconut milk, soy…read moresauce, chili oil, pasta, jam, spice, etc., is needed, there's a very good chance it's here. But if not, there's probably a solid substitute on the shelf. I appreciate how the all the cans, jars, and packets of prepared foods for one country are found in a dedicated spot, and there's a lot of countries represented. I can easily go to the Turkish, Indian, Ghanaian, or whatever aisle and find what I want. There's a fresh produce section along with meats and fish too. But I'm just amazed by the wide array of international foods--this fact alone gets my undivided attention. Grand Mart is really quite a condiment heaven, and an excellent store for foodies in the DMV. The staff is generally helpful. I do enjoy shopping here. Don't let the location or its modest storefront fool you, there's a colossal amount of stuff inside!

There's a large parking lot provided for cars--about 2 blocks away, at 36th and Shepherd Streets. It's a short walk up a gradual hill, through a Mt. Rainier neighborhood, but sure beats parking on the street. Just look for the signs. This market can get busy however everyone is super polite. There's lots of picnic tables available. Sometimes there's live music, but there's always music. In fact, when the music is playing, the vendors can sell, but when the music stops, then the market is over. It's open for 4 hours only, Saturdays, 9 AM to 1 PM, and those hours do fly by. I almost hesitate to write about it (want to keep it to myself in a way) but do desire that it succeeds!
