First, this is a Resort review. I'm not sure why people are leaving the restaurant a review because it's under a different name- that said we stopped in here for 3 nights in our class A Towing a Jeep. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. We we're instructed to go directly to our site after receiving specific email instructions and didn't even talk to anybody the entire time we were here. It is very quiet. This is an equestrian facility that allows people to share in the beauty of their 400 acres. It is the perfect place to decompress. We would absolutely come back here. The food in the restaurant is great but the attitude of the servers and hostess are awful. Our experience has been very snarky and rude people. The food is often cold when it arrives es and the orders are not right and then the server has an attitude about it. The hostess was absolutely rude and exceptionally unpleasant. I don't k ow why anyone would choose to eat here with so many other nearby options. The food is good if they get it to you while it's still hot but that's not been our experience. We gave it two try's and the second time was worse than the first. read more

We went to dinner at The Bistro for the first time. The menu has a good variety of food selections and it's not too pricey. The dining and bar area are nice and open with an Equine decor and atmosphere. Great food, our server was very nice and we'll be going back. read more

First of all let me say my husband and I went for lunch about 3 months ago and it was really good . Food was delicious and our waitress was very friendly . Tonight totally different experience. We walked in the hostess said do you have a reservation? We said no . Then she proceeded to tell us We're out of Prime Rib . We said ok can we sit outside? She said hold on went outside and came back and said ok follow me . She sat us at a table far away from the beautiful view we wanted . My husband saw another table closer to the beautiful view and asked if we were able to sit over there . She looked and said ok take your menus and I'll send someone over to wipe down your table . We sat for over 15 minutes without anyone coming over . We were very disappointed we really wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with beautiful scenery but that did not happen. We stopped at Grand Oaks Resort for lunch. Our server/bartender was Meghan. She was amazing; very cheerful and she checked on us often. The food was great, chicken salad croissant for me, baked meatballs for my husband. The view was perfect and there was a nice breeze. We will return again soon. read more

Great place to go for the weekend. The lots are huge! They are not the most level but they worked. Bring your leveling blocks. The site row in the 50's is awesome when they have riding events. You can see everything right from your rig. Not a ton of shade but they have a well kept pool for cooling off. read more

me and my husband went for a dinner party with a large group , we were given a choice of 4 items before we arrived, we both chose the 14oz Steak , when the server came to our table and asked what we ordered I told her we both ordered the steak, and she never asked how we would like it cooked , when the steak came it was very rare , so I walked into the other room where she headed and told her that i would like my steak med-well and she told me all the steaks will be done medium, she said "i will see what I can do but don't tell anyone else " so she took my steak and brought it back to me medium (i ended up bringing it home to cook it more), my husband also wanted his cooked more so she took his back and when she returned with it she just kind of threw it on the table like we were a bother to her , there were 2 servers and they both didn't seem like they wanted to be bothered with the party , I left a 20% tip anyway but they really didn't deserve it, I will not be going back read more

My Wife and I drove 12 miles from the Villages, Florida to go to the Cowboy Church and then we had reservations to have their brunch which we heard so many great things about. As we drove up to the building, everything looks so beautiful . As I was getting out of my car , I started to get a stmomach ache, just came on me. And so I went to look for a bathroom.It was our first time there. We found the bathroom and there were two People there . I asked her where the Men's room was and She said it is down.,not working. Go over to the other down the path and it should be open. When we walked down there, it was locked. All the doors. We had to leave and I am so thankful I was able to make it home in time!!! Party of 6 at 6:30pm. Heard there were new owners and wanted to try it out. We were all hungry. Twice meals got sent back for being under cooked and over peppered. The rest of the food was fair. I went here for dinner, but mostly for the entertainer listed as there that evening per their web site. I was very disappointed in there being a different entertainer. When I asked the wait staff about it not being who I expected from their web site, I was told "don't know anything about that." I wasn't impressed with the dinners considering they were priced $$ and the diners within the small dinning/stage area loudly ignored the entertainer. Gladly finished my meal quickly to exit and find quality music entertainment elsewhere. read more

This place is a very huge disappointment! My Granddaughter chose this place as it was an Equestrian Farm, and at first meeting employees seemed nice! Once they get your money, all bets are off!! They are rude, didn't want to give the Bride and Groom the food they ordered and paid for!! They were rude to guests when They complained food was cold, and some was burnt! They didn't care! I was ashamed to even have someone ask, where the wedding had been held! I told them I wasn't sure, but don't you really do t want to know!! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, including someone I didn't care about!! They need to fire the help and get new, or close it down and start over!! Terrible, Terrible venue!! Do not plan your wedding here or you risk it being ruined! Horse shows and dog shows take priority and Jennifer, the staff member who we had to schedule appointments with to see the property, has no idea what may or may not be scheduled. We met and toured the property twice, specifically laying out three outdoor locations near each other for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. She showed us the indoor options and asked several details so she could show us which ballroom would be our rain back up if we were forced inside due to weather. After extensive conversations about our plans, we signed the contract for a weekend when Jennifer said nothing else was booked and we would have no problems making lodging arrangements. But shortly after this we were informed all the existing housing, INCLUDING the bridal suite, were not available because of a large dog show that was already booked before us on our planned wedding, which we had chosen 14 months away. Jennifer became extremely rude from that point forward on phone, texts and emails. We tried for a month to meet with the Operations Manager and he can't seem to return phone calls or emails. Now any verbal promises they try to make have no weight and the only commuinications we've had is when they tell us things Jennifer assured us were always included will now costs thousands extra! We've been forced to file a better business bureau complaint in hopes of receiving a refund on our prepayment and cancelling our contract because of their unresponsiveness! The staff all have specific jobs and clearly do not coordinate so don't believe even the smallest thing they tell you unless it's in writing in very clearly spelled out detail. This is not a wedding venue. It's an equestrian resort that cannot maintain professional wedding scheduling staff and will always put equestrian events or large dog shows a higher priority then your special wedding day! It is with a heavy heart that I can't give The Grand Oaks a 5 star review. When we first started the wedding planning for my daughter's wedding we worked with Julianne Cuomo which was very accommodating. The week of the wedding we were advised that she was no longer with them and they had hired someone to take her place. Apparently that didn't work out. Julianne was there for my daughter's wedding but things didn't go as we expected. It was difficult to get any call backs the week of the wedding and we were not sure who to call. Julianne did come through and was very helpful. The problem was the venue and management. The reception hall was 89 degrees and was very uncomfortable. We were told that too many people were going outside. That was not the case. I have an employee's wife that attended an event 2 weeks prior and the air conditioning was not working that night either. It was clear the management knew that there was a problem and did not take care of it. Really? All that time, money, planning and they can't make sure the air conditioner was working???? People were going outside to get cooled down! We felt very deceived by The Grand Oaks and this is probably only one of the reasons why Julianne left her job there. I assume the newly hired girl to take her place left after she saw all the potential problems. The venue is beautiful, the food was good, but 89 degree's in the reception area ruined the night and did a number on the cake. Shame on the management of The Grand Oaks! If you do plan to have a wedding there, please put in writing that they agree to keep the reception room at a reasonable temperature before signing all of their requirements. read more

This was the most terrible experience anyone could have. I could write a book about how unprofessional they are! They do not communicate. You can't get anyone on the phone - EVER. In an entire weekend, I literally saw 2 workers driving around on their golf carts. If you stay and you do have a problem, do not ask for the owner. We were very clearly told "The owner does not talk to anyone - ever!. How do you like that? Not a tree on the place so unless it is in the middle of winter, forget about it. Sprinklers hit the side of the camper so do not plan on getting any sleep, and plan on cleaning off those water spots when you get home! TERRIBLE PLACE - DO NOT STAY! read more

I attended a wedding at this resort a few weeks ago, I was a bridesmaid in the wedding. Where do I begin... we show up to the rehearsal and the "wedding planner" was clueless as so what actually happened at a rehearsal... she was extremely defensive when we asked questions like why the chairs weren't centered to the pergola; we almost had to force a conversation about how things were going to be on the wedding day. When the wedding day came we told her we would be there at 9 to set up... THANKFULLY the girl cleaning up from the wedding the night before was there to let us in because the wedding planner didn't show up until hours later after she assured us at the rehearsal she would be there by 8am. The girl who was cleaning up from the night before (I'm so sorry I forgot her name) was more than accommodating, once she arrived she quickly cleaned the room we were getting ready in before preceding with what she was doing prior to our arrival, she even offered to go get us food from the restaurant while we were setting up. Without her I don't know what we would have done. The wedding planner was extremely rude during the whole event and kept stating "well I think it's going okay" to the wedding party. Oh and they don't have anyway to get the wedding party to the ceremony... so plan to drive yourself, I mean who doesn't love seeing the wedding party jump out of there own cars and walk down the isle... oh and to get the reception after pictures... we thought the wedding planner was taking us and then she got extremely offensive when we hopped on the golf cart... the rest of the evening we pretty much tried to avoid her and do everything ourself. And 15 minutes after the send off the wedding planner came in to tell us she was leaving... no instructions on how to close up or anything. Honestly I'm only giving this place 2 stars because it is beautiful and the girl who was cleaning was amazing. If your planning a wedding here plan to hire an outside wedding planner, oh pray they get someone new. read more
