In all fairness, we booked this place in an emergency. Our other air bnb fell through. Our original impression was great because the room was clean and cool. And they are "pet friendly". We were also advised that there wouldn't be any pet fees, yet when we reviewed the bill, there's a $75 pet fee. Few things we noticed before settling in. 1. The bathroom has a stand up shower with half glass to avoid water leaking or splashing on the floor. That is pointless. The water was getting everywhere when we showered. They need to add a door that closes of they want to keep a stand up shower or change to a tub. 2. The water pressure sucks. And you can see the calcium build up on the shower head. The shower head should be cleaned at least once a month. 3. The bed, while big enough for us, had depressions in it (from normal wear and tear). With the depression in the bed and pillows being extremely soft, the bed was uncomfortable. 4. While they say they are pet friendly, I dont think they are. My dogs are generally very quiet, and will only bark if they hear someone at the door or need something. We were asked to leave and take the dogs for a walk because they were receiving "noise complaints" if a dog can't see what's happening, they will all bark to alert the owners of possible dangers. There were people outside walking up and down and talking (cleaners and guests) 5. Apparently it was "bike fest" and they people that stayed at the hotel, kept revving their engins. This triggered my dogs to bark. They do the same at home all the time. While we were on the 4th floor, we were still able to hear the bikes and it was loud and annoying. 6. All the cyclists took over all the parking and that made it next to impossible to find parking at night. While I understand policy and procedures, if you're a pet friendly establishment, then it should be known that pets will bark. Its not like they're regular pets. These are emotional support pets. Most times they were with me in the room since I was not well during this trip. So when they asked us to leave for that day we felt unwelcomed. read more

Hotel options in the area are limited but this place wasn't up to basic standards. The first room that I was given had a dried substance on the bedskirt, foul odor, wrinkled sheets and a shower floor that wasn't clean. The second room had black scum in the shower, along with rust. It smelled like mildew and the a/c gurgled quite a bit. The shower gel had fallen off the wall. The couch had been attacked by what looked like a cat. If you've stayed at other Town Place Suites then you know what you can expect here. The rooms are either studio set ups with the kitchen in the room with your bed, or you can get one of the "suites" that has a separate bedroom and a living area. Since we were only staying one night- we opted for the studio set up as it came with a king sized bed and the suite only had a Queen bed. We had already checked in on line so with a quick stop in at the front desk to get any updates particular to this hotel, we were in our room in no time. The room was clean, had plenty of soap and towels and about the only thing we had to hunt down was coffee creamer which we got from the breakfast room. Breakfast was solid as it always is in these hotels. While some things may change out you always get a hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, bagels, cereal, pancakes, yogurt and pretty much anything else you can think of. The woman in charge of the breakfast room was good at noticing when things needed to be replenished. All in all, this Town Place Suites delivered on what it promises to deliver- a good night's sleep at a reasonable price! read more

I was there for work for an extended period of time. On Easter Sunday, after I had been there for 6 weeks, they emptied my room while I was home. They claim my reservation had run out even though my boss, who was paying for the room, had told them I would be there for 12 weeks. When they gave me my stuff back, I was missing a lot of my things. AirPods, a small laptop carry on case, all my jewelry including a 2300 necklace my husband had purchased for my birthday and several less expensive items. The only reason I wasn't wearing the necklace is I had broken out in hives and needed a prescription gel to get rid of them. Not only has Townplace been completely uncooperative and sometimes rude, I have called customer service who refuses to return my call. I filed a police report and the detective on my case was told that the employees involved in emptying my room will no longer cooperate with him. I am so angry with how I have been treated and will not stop until they pay for my missing items. DO NOT stay here. read more

My husband and I recently spent four weeks here whilst waiting for our new home to be ready for us to move into. Right from the start, the staff were courteous, friendly and accommodating to our needs. We had our German Shepherd with us and they were great in asking what floor would we like to be on and which part of the floor to make taking her out as easy as possible. Our visit was quite pleasant. The room was neat and clean. I do agree with the previous poster about the shower not having a door on it. But we simply put a rug down on the floor so it wasn't an issue for us. The shower had shampoo, conditioner and body soap attached to the wall. The room came with a small kitchen with a fridge, stovetop and a dishwasher. They also have grills outside. So between the stovetop and grills, we did not have to eat out near as much as we expected. Unlike others, we found the breakfast to be very good. They had scrambled eggs, alternated between bacon and sausage, waffles, blueberry muffins, danish, breakfast sandwiches, bagels and cream cheese and cereal. The staff were great our entire stay. Housekeeping did a great job and the front desk staff saw to our every need. I highly recommend staying at this hotel next time you are in Lake County, Florida. read more

This is my second time here in three weeks. It SHOULD be my last, and am glad for two reasons. First is that my dear mother will no longer be living in this town (I'm moving her to assisted living much closer to me), and second...I'm still not a fan of this spot to begin with. I give it THREE stars this go round because I have a suite this time rather than a room. It's bigger, less plain and I also had a more gracious check in experience. Girl behind the desk was equally as efficient but also took a little more time to explain amenities and features. This last bit was thoughtful. In her narrative, she included part about putting room key in slot next to the door to activate lighting in the kitchen and dining areas. Also, since we were on 2nd floor this time, there was better water pressure for the shower. Our suite had a regular tub instead of a standalone shower; curtain and liner kept water from going all over creation. Still, however, extremely chintzy with bath amenities. One lousy, small bar of harsh soap, and two tiny vials of shampoo and conditioner (one of each). C'mon Marriott; get with the program! Why don't you have big bottles of liquid body wash, shampoo and conditioner on the wall in there? Other less than stellar thing about this place remains breakfast. Last time I thought it was lacking. This time it outright STUNK! Still only two hot items...One was Canadian turkey bacon; other was a prefab breakfast sandwich. The latter was a low quality English muffin holing one slice of said breakfast meat with a small slice of cheese and a little egg disc. Not an egg puck: a slender little disc of egg product. Queen Bee made do with Cheerios, OJ and coffee. I had my coffee, OJ and some baconoid. Should the following appears blustery, then I should apologize right now. Having done that, I am totally AGHAST that the management here has/have the NERVE to charge me $180 for a room, then offer their so-called free breakfast as an amenity. It's an abysmal aberration!!!! These people using the Marriott name fall way short of meeting what at least ONCE was the gold standard in the hospitality industry. Yes, it's an industry...does that mean I default to industrial grade breakfast??? JW himself, I believe, would roll over in his grave if he were aware of the subpar slop served so lazily to lethargic lodgers expecting better bounty from the Marriott minions. What can I say??? Excellent!!!! I visit this part of Fl often and have been challenged in the past with finding quality accommodations. This was my 4th stay at this location and it continues to provide a quality experience. I do see folks have complained about the breakfast so I ask, where else can you find a clean comfortable hotel at this price??? I felt that the small breakfast provided is sufficient and a bonus to the cost. The staff is friendly and more than accommodating. Looking forward to my next stay. read more

First I want to say the staff was top notch!! I spoke to several different members including the manager but hats off to Denny, Patricia and Steven. You all rock! We had a death in the family and were looking for a Marriott property close to my husband's family home. They live in Eustis and this was the closest location. This is not typically the type of hotel we stay in as we love full service properties but again choices were limited in this area. The rooms were decent. I had some issues with the cleanliness as there were dark hairs in the bathroom and on some of the linens that were there when we checked in. This was present in both rooms. The rooms do offer a full kitchen area which was nice for one of our family with an infant. It is located in the middle of nowhere so get food before going there. Decent property in that area. I think for the price this was a very good place. Rooms were reasonably clean. My son accidentally spilled milk on the sheets and we requested a new set of sheets and it came immediately. We came to visit family and spend a day at the pool. The pool was a nice size and for a Saturday wasn't heavily used. I liked that the pool was outside. I thought the pool would be small by the pictures but it was bigger than I expected. There were chairs with umbrellas outside. The pool itself was clean and area around was clean. They were doing some work on the outdoor bathrooms but it wasn't a big deal for us since we could just go back to the room, The continental breakfast was also pretty good. I felt it had a lot for a continental breakfast including an oatmeal bar, coffee area, fruit, cereal, hot foods, waffle maker and breakfast sandwiches/ muffins and bagels, eating areas looked clean. We asked the front desk for toothbrushes because we forgot and they had it for us. Also they keep lemonade and coffee in the lobby which I thought was nice. Overall I thought it was a good stay and quality service. read more

We arrived at this hotel on 1/13/23 evening and upon getting into bed on our 3rd floor room, we saw a huge cockroach crawling on the kitchen counter. We took photos and killed it. After calling the front desk, they asked my family to come down with our belongings to give us a new room. We were then sent to the 4th floor and after trying to use the new room key a few times, we heard a man in the room yell, "wrong room!" We went back to the front desk where they apologized for giving us an occupied room. We then went back up to the 4th floor to our new room. Turning down the sheets, there was a cockroach crawling on a PILLOW!! We took videos and photos of this too. When we called the front desk yet again, they said we could cancel our reservation (we couldn't - we were with another Marriott member who was already asleep on the 1st floor and who had driven us, AND it was past midnight by then!), or we could get a 30% discount. I took the discount. They said that was the most they could give me. We did not open our bags and left them in the car because we were so worried about bringing any cockroaches home with us. It was a terrible night of fitful sleep. Took showers in the morning and made sure to shake off any clothes we had with us and rushed out early in the morning. Needless to say, I was disgusted by this hotel, and their lack of truthfulness (telling me after the first room with a cockroach that they have never had a problem with the bugs). I've never stayed at a Marriott (or any other hotel!) that had this problem. read more

Beware. It's a bait and switch. Got to the hotel after traveling and the told me at check in I had been bumped and they have to ship me to another hotel 13 min away. When I said why notification they just rolled their eyes and acted like they didn't care. Hotel looks really nice as it's new but beware if the rude staff team. Words to describe this place: 1) Dumpster Fire! 2) Their focus group is the homeless. 3) Who in their right frame of mind would stay in a hotel at this rate and not have a clean room and fresh towels to come back too after a busy day. Truly, the owners of this hotel have got to be crazy. If I were MARRIOTT I would without hesitation revoke their credentials and give them a fond adieu. I arrived at TOWNE PLACE SUITES BY MARRIOTT in Leesburg yesterday at 9:00pm. There was no person at the desk. I looked for someone to help us and eventually found the clerk sitting on a chair playing with her phone tucked away in a corner. She eventually put her phone down and said after the check in was completed, "On this paper here, breakfast is at 6:30 to 9:00am and the WiFi is free." That's it. I woke up early and went down to the main desk and looked the manager and his assistant straight in the eye and said, "Please makeup the room and fresh towels." He looked at me and said, "Your room is 227, I will get right on it." I thanked the gentleman and went on my day. I returned to the hotel at 10:00pm, went upstairs to the room. Walked in and the place was not made up or towels made fresh. I went downstairs to the desk and explained to the woman who played on her phone from last night about the room and towels. She got defensive and argumentative saying this is a, LongStay Hotel. That the clean room, made bed and towels were MY problem and that if I stay (7 DAYS) they would clean my room and give me fresh towels. Plus the clerk said," it's not my problem, those morning people have no idea what they were saying so you are stuck with it." (paraphrasing) This woman was more interested in arguing and fighting me over her job then fixing the problem. I literally fell back on my heels and said to myself, what happened to MARRIOTT? No restaurant in this place. The beds are a back breaker. I begged for towels. The replacement towels have black hair on them.The air conditioner unit is very noisy. Lastly, when you look out the window, you can see mold in the corners of the window. Do yourself a favor, sleep in your car. At least hair on your towels will be your own and you won't be spoken to like you were a second class citizen being told where to stand. This place is a total disappointment. I will be sure to spread the word that MARRIOTT has become the Walmart of hotel chains. There are so many other better hotels in Leesburg to choose from. TOWNE PLACE SUITES GRADE...(F) If I could come up with a lower grade,I would without hesitation display it on this review. read more
