Perhaps it's a great fit for some, but for those who are considering care here I only thought it fair to share. Upon my first appointment I was weighed, measured, measured again, requested to fill out multiple sets of paperwork in regards to how much money I made and who primarily paid the bills in my household amongst other "health-related" questions. My first appointment left me feeling extremely bothered for the following weeks. I recently lost 10lbs, I work with a health and nutrition coach, I am actively involved in the gym 3-4 days a week with circuit training. I was told within this appointment, without request for counsel, that I need to make sure my waistline stays under 29 inches, my fat percentage at 28% was "high" and I needed to focus on lowering it. In addition, I was told that my body age was twice the amount of my true age. Understandably because of the high cost causing lower patient volume than the other larger healthcare systems, I do understand the need for a different approach in marketing. However, I noticed throughout my appointment I was pressured into believing I needed to invest in more, more, more with this establishment, because I "needed to improve". When in reality I was here for a simple preventive, annual exam. I understand some women may want this guidance, however I also believe this process can be psychologically damaging to others. Perhaps in the future True can develop a more personalized and encouraging approach in asking women what they're really looking for out of the care they receive here instead of forcing these things to become a part of their visit if they're unwarranted.

Instead of listening to my concerns or communicating respectfully, I felt like I was treated as an inconvenience from the beginning. Even more concerning, important information was not accurately communicated to my healthcare providers. When I attempted to clarify the facts and correct the misinformation, I was met with hostility rather than a willingness to resolve the issue. Instead of addressing my concerns or taking responsibility for the communication breakdown, I was dismissed from the practice. Being removed as a patient simply for trying to ensure my medical information was accurate is deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about how patient concerns are handled. Every patient deserves to be treated with respect, to have accurate information communicated to their provider, and to be able to advocate for themselves without fear of retaliation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

The office staff and nurses are all very kind and helpful. This location is super convenient because they also have an Urgent Care center and a lab (Although it gets a little confusing because it's easy to assume the lab is actually run by the doctors but it's slightly different billing/administration).

The nurses that worked the floor during my stay were extremely helpful and checked in often, helping us take care of the babies and brought in extra supplies to help with feeds & changes. They offered a lot of guidance and were very encouraging, especially nurse Heather (I believe she is a travel nurse). Overall, I've had a very positive experience with Metro!

Had some pain in left hip area this year when I woke up one morning suddenly in a lot of pain and so went back there, though I emphasized to Swartz that it definitely felt like some muscle issue "feels like a tennis ball in my butt", doubted it had to actually do with the hip replacement. They took X-Ray and guess what they told me? "The hip replacement looks good." Couldn't figure it out. I asked for a referral to an osteo at another place who had done wonders (hands-on) for my friend. They did that referral. So I go to the other doctor (Dr. Madeline Ginn-Terpstra) and she feels my lower back and within 3 minutes says "your tailbone is rotated. I put it back." Instant pain relief. Problem solved. So I call Shoreline to have them put a copy of my xray on my patient portal -- I want to know if the xray view included my tailbone, and if so why in the hell didn't they see it? Why did I have to diagnose myself? Possible that area was not on xray and I didn't want to make accusations that were not true. It now has been two months and 4 phone calls and still there's no xray on my portal. And if xrays can't be put online for some unknown reason, at least a callback and offer to show in-house. Nothing. Dismissive. Like you're not important if it doesn't involve major surgery. They are well regarded and apparently do a bunch of biz with teenage athletes in the schools. More exciting than working with an old lady. Star rating has to do with this episode. I'd put surgeries at 4.5 stars.
