Not impressed with Dr. Watkins and team. I've been waiting for my orthotics for over seven months and multiple fitting/ adjusting visits. They are finally ready, but now they are telling me that if my insurances doesn't cover them, I will be responsible for the balance. I was told in the very beginning that this was pre-approve/ that my insurance was covering them This has been going on since October 2025. We are now May 2026. read more

Had two hip replacements in 2023 done here by Dr. Swartz and both were successful. That's important. At the same time the reviews talking of condescension and dismissiveness in the office is accurate and really irritating. Remember, everyone, you are treating the WHOLE person not just an appendage. Had some pain in left hip area this year when I woke up one morning suddenly in a lot of pain and so went back there, though I emphasized to Swartz that it definitely felt like some muscle issue "feels like a tennis ball in my butt", doubted it had to actually do with the hip replacement. They took X-Ray and guess what they told me? "The hip replacement looks good." Couldn't figure it out. I asked for a referral to an osteo at another place who had done wonders (hands-on) for my friend. They did that referral. So I go to the other doctor (Dr. Madeline Ginn-Terpstra) and she feels my lower back and within 3 minutes says "your tailbone is rotated. I put it back." Instant pain relief. Problem solved. So I call Shoreline to have them put a copy of my xray on my patient portal -- I want to know if the xray view included my tailbone, and if so why in the hell didn't they see it? Why did I have to diagnose myself? Possible that area was not on xray and I didn't want to make accusations that were not true. It now has been two months and 4 phone calls and still there's no xray on my portal. And if xrays can't be put online for some unknown reason, at least a callback and offer to show in-house. Nothing. Dismissive. Like you're not important if it doesn't involve major surgery. They are well regarded and apparently do a bunch of biz with teenage athletes in the schools. More exciting than working with an old lady. Star rating has to do with this episode. I'd put surgeries at 4.5 stars. read more

Always running behind on appointments. Always wait an hour or more to be called back.

Dr Marcolina is dismissive, doesnt listen, thinks he has all the answers without even talking to you. I had more exam and care by my massage therapist and chiropractor than from this place. And the answer is always physical therapy. Even though I did 2 months of physical therapy on my own, they want you to pay for it to prove it doesnt work. The patient, their experience and their actual pain play no part in diagnosing anything. Also, I had to fill out the same questionnaires multiple times. read more

I was scared to go here for my wrist pain but that was soon put to ease when I met Dr. H!! He understood my concerns and knew I didn't want to do the surgery route so he made sure to treat me accordingly leaving surgery the very LAST option! My wrist pain ( carpal tunnel ) has gone down drastically with what he recommended for me! 2 months in pain solved in less than a week! read more

I went to Shoreline Orthopaedics originally because they were located in Holland and I didn't want to drive to Grand Rapids or Cascade to have my shoulder cuff looked at. I knew that surgery and physical therapy was imminent and I didn't want to drive hours on the road for several weeks! I was so glad I went to Shoreline Orthopaedics! Dr. Cheek was so informative and took the time to tell me what I did to my shoulder and what it would take to get it back to mobility with no pain. It has been 4 months and I have no pain! The office staff were always friendly and the medical staff were 99% on time! I won't think twice about going to Shoreline Orthopaedics if I have to have surgery in the future. I just hope if I do, it will be several years down the road! read more

I had a referral open to this office for over a year and a half, and when they finally called me back, the doctor that I wanted to see no longer worked for them. I told the receptionist that I was seeking an hEDS diagnosis because Dr. Kane-Smart was popular for giving them and they assured me, they had a doctor who could treat me and diagnose me the same way. I took the day off work and drove from Grand Rapids to Holland only to find out that their doctors don't diagnose or treat hEDS. It was a complete waste of my time and I was super unimpressed with the treatment by the doctor. Listen to your patients when they tell you what they need so you can turn them away if you can provide those services. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Thereseann Huprikar since she joined the team at Shoreline Orthopedics. In my opinion, I had to be one of Her more challenging patients to help seeing that I had three prior lower back surgeries resulting in a lumbar fusion. unfortunately for me the area above my fusion deteriorated after 10 years causing server nerve pain down the back of my legs and making walking extremely painful. Dr. Huprikar explained in detail how she can help me and what was causing my pain. After receiving treatment, more than 70% of my nerve pain was gone! Went to Dr Stewart after i ruptered my quad and didnt even get a Mri yet to see tendon damage he returned me to work! Its clear he doesnt care about his patients welfare , accident happened at work and thankfully they said no to me returning! Do not recommend Dr Stewart and his assistant Dr Willy first asked my work for permission to keep me off work! Thats his job not employers! Dont go here! read more

Office staff is very rude and makes comments regarding your need of medical care but do not have a medical background. You literally have to argue about conversations you had with your doctor to get an appointment. Perhaps the medical information should be reviewed by an actual NURSE. read more

My wife requires a surgical procedure for her spine. She was referred here by her regular physician and was told she would need this referral to get an evaluation before getting a referral to an actual surgeon. She is understandably worried about her back, and wanted answers for the many questions she has regarding the causes of her spinal issues and possible procedures. After being told they didn't have the necessary paperwork - which had been dropped off in person in advance of the appointment, as Shoreline requested - she was then treated with condescension and a hurried manner by the physician, making it clear that there were other patients that needed to be seen. She did receive a referral to a single surgeon, but she of course wants to thoroughly vet her options - this is a spinal procedure after all. So, in order to get a comprehensive idea of what her options are, she requested further referrals to two or three different surgeons. She left detailed phone messages at Shoreline after being told twice that no one could personally address her requests. She waited. And waited. Finally she contacted them a third time today, only to be told there was no record whatsoever of her earlier requests for surgical referrals - which she needs before she can commit and have the necessary surgery. Be glad I didn't call the third time, Shoreline. My wife is far more professional than I would have been while addressing your "customer service." Needless to say - unimpressed. read more

Miracle worker's I say! So glad Dr. Paff gave me a second opinion on my broken elbow when the first doctor fell flat. (inside joke, falling flat is how I broke my arm) Unlike the first doctor who treated me, Dr. Paff was attentive, informative, and very professional. He gave me hope when I had none. The whole staff were kind and supportive through my ordeal, and I would encourage anyone needing help with arm or hand to see them. (I am sure they are great with other parts too, but just speaking to my experience.) The physical therapy provided at Shoreline Orthopaedic helped me gain mobility and hopes for a full recovery. I have been going to Shoreline for maybe 20 years, they operated on my rotator cuff and blew it ...never fixed.. Then I make an appointment to have my shoulder looked at, but on my way there I got a call to show a building for my job, I called them and was placed on hold..i had to hang up as my customer arrived..they charged me a $25 no show fee, hey then they charged me for an office $199 for the visit. indicating its a new patient charged..I'm like what? Clearly not a new patient..I have to apy them their measly 25 bucks or they turn me into a credit agency.. This probably wouldn't b\e so bad if they weren't all pompous asses and rude people... Don't go here and especially don't let them operate on you.. read more

My son was seen in this office for a hyper-extended finger. Once the bill arrived three months later, Shoreline Orthopedics charged $107.00 each time my son was seen for a rinky dink finger splint that I could have gotten at Walgreens for $7.99. Obviously, my insurance company wouldn't pay that amount. When we called the office to inquire about these extremely ridiculous prices, the billing representative was extremely rude and said that's their standard policy! I will never go back to this office again and plan to file a complaint with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau for price gouging! read more

It's crazy the amount of patients and doctors that go here and yet there's another orthopaedic center in Holland. I have to say that I appreciated the promptness of service here. I took my dad here as his translator, and saw Dr. Wolfe. He checked my dad's mobility and described what he thought was going on with the knee and bone mold so that we had a good visual. He also confirmed that we would know better with an MRI after the x-ray that was taken with the regular doctor didn't say anything but arthritis. In any event my dad had been experiencing this knee pain for over a month and with us having an overseas trip coming up and walking alot we knew that we had to find something that would help quickly. After we had the MRI scheduled and done, we came back and Dr. Wolfe showed us on the iPad where the tear in the meniscus was and some of the arthritis. Dr. Wolfe suggested we have the cortisone shot done to see if the pain was aggravated more by the arthritis or if it was in fact the meniscus. I think that was the best way to go and eliminate the need for surgery if we didn't have to. Unfortunately, the pain has persisted and my dad will have to do the surgery. At least we know and I feel confident in Dr. Wolfe's ability to trim down the tear and help my dad out. read more
