Different samples of salt from around the world

This stop was far more interesting and educational than I thought it would be. We learned a lot, enjoyed salt samples, and the staff member was friendly, engaging and informative. It's free y'all! Take your kids!

This was a fun, 10 minute stop for my son and me, as we drove through East Texas. The museum was closed (Sunday), but I think we got the gist of it just by peeping in the windows and licking the building! Fun times and great photos. An easy stop.

This little museum is a treasure. It is small--only one room--but you must remember that THE BUILDING IS MADE OUT OF SALT. I suspect nearly every child (and most adults) who visit lick the building at least once! The curators are friendly and knowledgable. Grand Saline is home to one of the largest salt domes in North America, an home to Morton Salt's "Little Gem" mine. You totally should! I think it is way better than The World's Largest Ball of String--but I am prejudiced.

A great place to hold parties, play, learn, be curious, and more importantly, have fun! He and his friends had so much fun exploring and playing everywhere! They could pretend to be service heroes, doctors, working at a restaurant or at the grocery store. Be an astronaut, play on a ship, and learn with a bunch of gadgets and gizmos. I would absolutely recommend this place for birthday parties and school field trips. As always, Enjoy & Happy Learning!

When you enter, you can choice to go right or left, two sides to the center. To the right is a few games, (such as connect four), life size light bright, and a cool vacuum that you put fluff balls in and watch how it filters through the vacuum suction tubes. You can walk through the volcano and experience what an earthquake could possibly feel like. Walk all the way up to the ship deck and see the world. Down on the main floor, my granddaughter loved learning the magic of being on television. When coming in, if you turned left, you enter the world of life skills and career options. The makeshift grocery store is very realistic and makes it fun for kids to learn to shop and organize. The kids can pretend to work in medical clinics, veterinarian clinics, restaurant personnel (food prep/chef/server), be an astronaut and explore the outer world, firefighter, police officer, lawyer, and/or judge, medical specialist, and more. There is a separate room for birthdays or gatherings. There is a very low price of $10 pre adult/student and discounts offered for seniors and military. I didn't get pictures while exploring with my grandkids, but it really is a fun little place to go explore. You can visit their website for more pictures and info. https://www. discoveryscienceplace.org

Definitely spent hours in here, as there are so many levels, room, activities, etc. Really loved the activities that were super engaging, both for kids and adults. The spots area on the bottom ground floor was super fun and not crowded at all. The price is well worth the visit! perfect place for families, and even just adults (i saw some adult friend groups who were visiting and they looked like they were having so much fun!) Parking is across the street under the highway. it's $15, which is not the best but at least it's a short walk. It was pretty easy finding a spot too.

This place is huge with multiple floors of hands-on and educational exhibits that kept our son moving the whole time. We even booked the soccer exhibit with our general admission tickets and had a lot of fun exploring different soccer challenges and interactive spots at our own pace. Our son especially loved building a Lego arena and creating his mascot at the soccer exhibit. The museum is clean and the staff are friendly. We booked our tickets online which was very quick and easy. We went on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded, which made chasing our little one around much easier. There's a parking garage within walking distance to the museum and you pay before you leave. We had an absolute blast especially our son. If you have an active little one who loves to run around and explore, this is a fantastic spot. Highly recommend - we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Dallas.
