The nursing care under the direction of Leigh, Shannon, April, and Brigitte was outstanding, as was the care I received in the recovery room from Thania. Dr. Naren Nallapeta, who performed the procedure, was first rate. Each of the health care professionals possessed a fine bedside manner and were highly competent. The Strand GI Endoscopy Center is a first rate organization, we are fortunate to have such a resource in our community. I had a peri anal abscess, causing me enough pain that I couldn't walk and was terrified to use the bathroom. When I saw her and told her my self diagnosis: she shrugged me off by saying " I think you spend too much time on the Internet" She told me it was probably a "skin tag" and was hell bent on scheduling me for the camera in my butt 3 weeks later. But I can't walk now, and am crying myself to sleep nightly. Well that self diagnosed abscess ruptured!!! one and a half days after seeing her!!! And the infection spread drastically. I went and saw a proctologist, and he was absolutely baffled when I told him about her neglect to pay attention to me, and her lack of understanding normal and very basic terms, when describing human anatomy. The kind male proctologist explain to me that many doctors today do not exercise patience with their patients, and that many of them really need to practice their medical practice. Real words of wisdom from someone who saved my life and butt hole. Anyway, if you just want an expensive camera up ya butt Gl associates is the place for you. If you need a real doctor and healing, go else where.

She was extremely rude and unhelpful. I was then switched to a biosimilar, and months later I experienced significant side effects. I left several messages with the nurse to have Dr. Smith call me to no avail. I then obtained insurance with a new company hoping to get back on Humira. The insurance company representative told me that my doctor needed to submit a prior authorization form. I asked the nurse to do so and to copy me, particularly since she refused to speak with the insurance representative or allow me to speak directly with the doctor. Apparently, she never submitted it. I found a new doctor, and within one week I was approved for Humira again.

I had a procedure back in Dec. 2025 and gave a wonderful review to include billing , but I must recall my message about the billing process being great. Today , I called the office to schedule an appointment and was told " my account was Blocked" because my balance in Dec was not paid. What!!!! First , I must say I don't have a problem of making a payment which I discussed with the young lady when I had my procedure. She stated making a payment is fine. No one called to discuss a payment arrangement or stated I had a specific amount of time to pay off my balance. With this being said my bill is under 700 and it has only been 3 months and I have made 4 payments 2 payments where I had my procedure (down payment, and balance due from that facility) , 2 payments as of today to Charleston GI which I made earlier this month and one today. I wrote this post because I knew someone from the office would read and want to respond . So I must say the payment isn't really the problem. I don't mind making a payment, but I do mind you denying me to schedule because the balance is not paid in full. Very disappointed in how your billing is set up for your patients!!!! Is this how Roper treats their patients???If you have a specific amount of time for a balance to be paid you should tell ALL patients upfront .To include , give payment options meaning different ways to pay off by drafting from an account , taking a payment out each month to get balance paid off. I would just say you should NEVER deny someone treatment for inability to pay. I must say even though I can pay something ,their are people who can't pay at all and I think this is wrong . Both messages were never returned. He set up a virtual appointment, paid the co-pay earlier in the day and the office never called. I had two appointments. The first one was just a doctor's appointment at 9:00 am and he was 30 minutes late. My second was for my colonoscopy and they were running over an hour behind but they don't say anything to you nor apologize for the inconvenience. The only reason we knew is that we heard the receptionist speaking to someone on the phone. There's an aloofness about this business that is unwarranted. We finally switched to Wilmington Health Gastro and have received incredible service.

I had treatment 21 months ago. It took them a year to file the claim with BCBS sc then, try the blame BCBS for not paying the claim timely. Fortunately I saved my EOB. After spending close to 4 hours over a week on the phone with their office manager, Tanya Stark, I paid them $604.41. This was in July 23. It was cashed in Aug. today I received in invoice for the same amount. When trying to call the automated attendant recorded answer is, "leave name and number and someone will get back with you"!!! Unbelievable! Dr Suarez is five star but his service support is horrible. Due to this experience I have found a new doctor and will NEVER use them or recommend to anyone.

I never actually went in for an appointment to this office but had to see one of their doctors…read morethrough the ER I received a bill from them and had it set on an automatic draft payment. In May of last year 2020 I had to get a new debit card therefore when they tried to draft my payment it was declined....well I had to get a new card instead of calling me to notify me they let it sit until February of 2021 and then sent it to the collections agency. Wow just WOW.....not even a phone call to notify me no bill nothing!!!! I will never recommend this practice to anybody. Horrible customer service. It is just very sad that they will not even try contacting the patient before they just send you straight to collections.
