Our accommodation in the "Bridal Suite" was immaculate and so comfortable. Our hosts, Luis and Kristine, surprised us with a fresh organic breakfast every morning, along with piping hot coffee and tea. We relaxed and enjoyed walking the property and seeing the beautiful horses in their pasture. One morning wild turkeys ran past our door and I managed to get some great photos. Unfortunately, due to the nearby fires there was heavy smoke everywhere. The owners realized it would be unbearable to stay there and offered us a bridal suite at their recently purchased ranch which is 15 minutes away. After a few rural roads we came upon their place... OMG what a ranch! It was how one would imagine a ranch to be... white fenced sections, horses, wildlife, stables, lots of well-kept acreage with many large shady trees also many apple trees. A beautiful huge main house to one side, the bridal suite across the driveway very privately surrounded by beautiful lawns and trees with lots of shade. One of the family members took us on a tour around the 21 acres and as the ranch name suggests, they have a huge red barn along with stables, corrals, ponds, more B&B suites, just amazing! It had a perfect reception hall that opens to a vast lawn, this with a complete bar, bandstand; this is a perfect place for a wedding. The entire place was super clean and well kept. Our mornings were very relaxing... peacefully quiet but for the soothing soft breeze through the trees. Breakfast on our private patio was a treat and did I mention the delicious coffee? Luis and Kristine along with their wonderful family were so welcoming and are the warmest of hosts, one and all. We really enjoyed their company. This ranch is a perfect place for a wedding, family reunion, retreat or whatever! We look forward to coming back very soon. We loved it and you will too!

This is a worth while stop if you are traveling through the area. It was a scenic drive from I-70…read moreinto the park. I was traveling with my husband and relatives. Note: I detracted one star because all the picnic tables for day visitors have been removed to discourage that activity. The only tables in the park are for the camp sites. We pulled into an empty site, since we did not see tables elsewhere, to have a quick lunch. We got a talking to from one of the park employees that it was not permitted. We were nearly done with lunch so we finished quickly and removed ourselves, making sure the area was as we found it. We then parked up at the trailhead parking. It is a pleasant walk to the base of the falls. Then we headed up the stairs that take you behind the falls as well as to some caves. My husband and his brother did the hike up and around to the top. My sister-in-law and I found a nice shaded bench to enjoy the views while we waited for them to return. It was an overall good experience. I would go back.

The centerpiece of the park is this stunning trio of waterfalls--three streams of water pouring side by side over bright limestone cliffs, surrounded by the kind of lush greenery that feels almost tropical. It was like walking into a Colorado rainforest. Mist from the falls cooled the air, and everything around them felt alive--ferns, moss, chirping birds, and the occasional chipmunk darting across the path. The trails were surprisingly well maintained and easy to navigate. We started with the paved path that led right up to the base of the falls--perfect for just soaking in the view, and even wheelchair accessible. Then we took the Coyote Trail, which loops up around and behind the falls. That's where things got even more fun. The trail winds past a handful of small limestone caves, some of which you can crawl into and explore. One of them opened up into a surprisingly big cavern--we hadn't brought flashlights, but our phones did the trick, and the kids loved it. It felt like discovering secret chambers in a fantasy story. When we made it to the top of the falls, the view was totally worth the mild climb. You could look down and see all three cascades in full, framed by trees and cliffs. And with the mist rising in the sunlight, it felt absolutely magical--like something out of a painting. What I loved most was how much this park offered in such a compact space. Waterfalls, caves, trails, wildlife, creeks, picnic spots--everything felt close and accessible, but never crowded or rushed. It was peaceful, beautiful, and so well kept. Honestly, it's one of the best hidden gems I've stumbled upon in Colorado.

What a great golf course. Played here on advice of a friend and found it weeel worth the effort to…read moremake the trip. Putting Greens where average but in great shape, the fairways where in great shape. Chipping was a dream with the grass long enough to get under the ball with moving a bunch of dirt and having to reseed the divot. The driving t's where well placed. Getting the ball down the faiway was easy as the fairways where wide enought to allow for my sometimes bad drives. long fairwasy and a course that seemed to go on forever, not all put together on a small peice of property. Best of all this place is high moutain golfing, which means the beauty of the place was outstanding. Playeres where very few on the course. We where able to get right on to evey hole and play at a very fast rate, not having to wait for others to finish thier hole. Last but not least is the price, Where I live around Vail the price for golf is high, which many times not getting to play because of the cost. So getting to play a course at what seems a normal rate was a treat. I think I will be making the drive more ofton now that I have expierenced the awsome golf course, well worth the trip.

There are a lot of separate play areas, small streams, a small splash park and biking trails too. We saw rocks with clocks carved in on them, and we looked down and saw a big clock underneath our feet. Centennial Park is a work in progress. The park is located on Rifle Creek Trail between 3rd street and 9th street. One of the highlights of Centennial Park is the unique art work displayed throughout the park, giving visitors a glimpse into Rifle's history and western heritage. Centennial Park's signature event is the annual Fourth of July celebration featuring Symphony in the Valley in concert along with fireworks. Nick and I may plan another route to 4th of July here! I'm incredibly excited!! Overall, this park is amazing and one of my favorite stops. Any park with an Amphitheatre is worth visiting; lots of live music opportunities. Another cool fact I learned about Centennial Park that it's the celebration the 100 year anniversary of the town in Downtown Rifle, CO. Let me start by saying Im not a professional or lifelong trophy hunter. This was my first paid…read morehunt. I hunt yearly, mainly whitetail. Its been my dream to hunt Bison and have the meat for the freezer and hoped to have a nice shoulder mount. I had another outfitter booked and they cancelled my trip 2 weeks out after letting some Rich hunters that were already there shoot my Bull. I had to go to the web and I landed on Severson Outfitters and after blasting 10+ outfitters Pete was the only one who texted, emailed and called back within an hour. I really appreciated the conversation and the way Pete understood my needs. Im sure some outfitters get aggravated with less experienced hunters but Pete was extremely helpful and communicative (that was the reason I chose him). We arrived to the ranch lodge at almost midnight because of a snowstorm and rockslide knocked out the roads from Denver. Pete was there to greet my wife with a hospitable handshake and welcome. The lodge was warm, beds comfortable and all in the hunting spirit. The food/meals was family style prepared by Pete and his wonderful wife Sarah. The fridge was stocked and open bar was a nice touch. We had already negotiated a price range for the Bison Bulls that we would be hunting. I was scared (hearing about other hunters experiences with bad guide-price-ambushes). This was not the case. Every animal we saw that I was interested in, Pete had a straight answer information and pricing because I asked. It was never uncomfortable or awkward (just wished I had a bigger bank account lol). The hunt: we went up to the hunting ranch where Pete has a thousand acres with all sorts of animals. I didn't know what to expect with "High Fence" but it was NOT EASY. I am in good shape like 140.6 shape. So when I say it was a long exciting and fun hunt it was. The Bison herd was not having an easy hunt. They used every inch of the trees, rocks, washes, gulleys, knolls, and more. They used the numbers and were surprisingly nimble. Pete and Cody (guide) put in miles of hustle on foot and in the side by side. They also accommodated my wife and I trying to capture the hunt with camera/tripod. We were after a specific trophy bull and had to wait for the safe and ethical shot. (Pre-hunt sighted in 300 WM-so Pete knew my skill level) so when the shot was clear I took it. We were lucky enough to push the Bison down out of 4ft show on steep terrain down onto a small 1-2 ft snow meadow. After the Bull was down Pete and Cody made sure that we got all the time for my wife and I to capture pictures/videos and then the processing began. They absolutely flew at processing an animal of that size! Then straight into cooler hanging. We were again met with a warm meal and smiles from Sarah at the lodge. Pete has everything streamlined. The USDA Butcher info and then Taxidermist and even shipping for meat and mount to come. It's all seem-less and easy. I was the one who brought up settling up payment. Pete never made it feel like a paid hunt, even though this was my first paid hunt. Will be back hopefully for Watusi and Boar in the future. Thanks to Severson Outfitters for the hunt of a lifetime.

The menus vary every time, but my favorite is anything with wild elk or the western style BBQ nights! Pair that with the full service bar or fabulous wines from CA, Australia & New Zealand (the ranch owners' vineyards), the incredible views from every location at the lodge, and the superb western hospitality of every single staff member...and you've got the perfect combination for one of the best meals you will ever experience. Anywhere. As an overnight guest you may even get a chance (weather permitting) to join a Jeep tour to their gazebo on the mountain. The views are absolutely epic, and they bring apps & drinks for you to enjoy while up there! It's a pricey experience, but worth every penny and minute. Just book it!
