Our meal started with a bowl of chips served with a cute little bottle of homemade salsa and two small bowls, one for each of us. I see that as ingenious. The menu is very extensive. We chose Chili Relleno (my husband's favorite) and steak and chorizo nachos, served as a meal. The relleno was one large pepper, nice batter full of cheese, though interestingly covered in a molé sauce. - not mentioned in the menu. We are used to a red sauce. The accompanying rice and beans were delicious. The nacho platter was huge, full of flavor and piled high with meat and grilled onions, surrounded by large slices of avocado. I was stuffed and my husband finished every last bite. Vasquez, our waiter was extremely attentive, making sure our drinks were always filled. He was sweet. I would have given this place the highest score if it weren't for my trip to the restroom. Though clean and well maintained the stall doors could not lock. One was missing the entire side frame. There was just the tiled wall! The other stall door was missing the actual bolt that would lock the door. I found this very odd. Also odd was the very busy bar. It was a "you have to just know" sort of thing, since it was down the hall, past the restrooms. Not at all obvious from the main entrance. Still there were always people waiting for a table, obviously there for the food.

Unfortunately, we watched our waiter blow his nose then continue rolling paper napkins around silverware without skipping a beat. We suddenly realized all the servers kept touching their face and hair. And the food wasn't even great. The salsa was too sweet. Basically a red sauce that needed a little garlic to pass as italian red sauce. Perhaps we couldn't be objective after seeing the servers lack of cleanliness.
