The wine menu is spectacular; they definitely have some high end stuff here - I couldn't believe they had bottles on offer for $300! We ordered a more moderately priced but beautiful Shiraz at the recommendation of our waitress. Nice they decanted it for us on the table as well. We had the beef carpaccio for our starter, which had a nice delicate flavour. For my main I ordered the beef cheeks which were tasty but incredibly rich. The vegetables would have helped cut through the richness but sadly the accompanying "baby leeks" were just 2 puny spring onions and the celeriac puree was almost nonexistent there was so little of it. Not sure if it was related to the meal, but afterward my husband did get sick to his stomach. He thinks possibly the steak might have been a little bit frozen in the middle but isn't sure. What a pity because that steak was the most expensive thing on the menu and he ended up throwing up the whole thing anyway... On the bright side, our friends who ordered the scotch filet and the gnocchi said their dishes were great, so maybe my husband and I just ordered the wrong things. The fresh bread we ordered as a starter was delicious and the house made parmesan oil was amazing (I was so tempted to buy a bottle as they sell them at the front of the house!)

In fact I didn't expect much at all. Well how wrong was I. A beautifully presented restaurant with linen tablecloths and a lovely outdoor dining area. The menu was not large but offered all the Thai favourites. Fresh and fragrant the food was delicious. I really liked the fact that the chicken satays were not drowned in sauce but had the sauce in a dish on the side. Service was efficient and unobtrusive and the staff dealt extremely well with a large table of people that couldn't make up their minds on what to eat and drink. The only downside was it was quite expensive for a Thai restaurant. Well done Barossa Siam. I will be back.

Accessible via road or river, it's the perfect place to visit whilst spending your holidays along the Murray. Caudo's signature drop is their premade Sangria, you may recognise the sugar skull logo. They have both red and white on offer. We ordered a jug of the red ($18), and to be honest it kind of tasted like a spicy moscato. Not an insult, but not necessarily traditional. It's certainly sweet, and you can taste the orange notes... although that may be the hunk of orange they put with the ice in the jug. I do wish they would fill the glasses with ice and diced fruit. I think it would really bring out the flavours. You can buy 4 packs, cartons and large bottles of the Sangria to take away. A 4 pack will set you back $20. We got a pack to play with when we get home. There are other wines on offer too, as well as Barossa Valley cider and Caudo's Hogwash Bend Lager. Which was quite a refreshing crowd-pleasing lager. Very good for a hot day. Finally, there is quite a tasty little menu on offer. The local antipasto platter sounds like a delightful pairing with sangria on a summer day. The self cook BBQ plate looked amazing too! Annnndd pizza. All the deliciousness!! Overall, I highly recommend people pop into Caudo if they're in the region. The seafood platter is my favorite. $40 for two people and I would have to say is the best seafood platter I've had for its price. It is lovely to sit on the deck and watch the sunset while listening to the locals tell their stories with a glass of local wine
