Unfortunately, I have to one star. Even five years ago I would have given a four or five star. I've brought dogs here in the past and never had any issues. Now, I refuse to return because of the sharp increase in aggressive dogs and owners who refuse to take responsibility. If your dog is attacked and you call the number on the sign, they'll simply say, "We don't take reports for dog parks." I had to track down, serve, and take an owner to court just to get them to pay my dog's medical bills after their dog attacked mine--only for them to try and claim it wasn't their fault. I've also seen many people speed away after their dog attacks another, without even stopping to check if the other dog is okay. Most afternoons and evenings, the crowd tends to drink, get drunk, act belligerent, neglect their dogs, or just be outright rude to others. Sadly, a lot of people here now act with no respect for anyone else. read more

Excellent dog park with spaces for both larger and smaller furballs. The people are also very engaging and friendly. On a recent visit, I went to this park many times over the course of several days and really connected with other friendly dog owners. It was refreshing to see. The park is also clean and well kept. There is plenty of space to run around - especially for the larger dogs. There were plenty of bags if, for some reason, yours are readily available. I've had good and bad experiences in this park. The number one thing i wish was different is that it wasn't a big and small dog park. my girl is small but she loves all dogs. It's just a bit annoying though cause the small dogs are allowed in the large area but the small dog owners freak out if a big dog comes in the small area. There is also a small dog group that goes around 7ish in the morning and they allowed like twenty five dogs (literally) to bum rush my puppy at the gate. I was waiting for them to call their dogs off to give her room and they didn't. I made the mistake of going in (my first puppy, but i learned real quick) and my girl starting to correct them to back off her and a lady then proceeded to correct my girl all while not saying anything to hers. Needless to say I left immediately and took her outside the fence and then took her in the big dog area. I have since been back and had much more enjoyable experiences. There are a lot of friendly dogs/owners who go there. My girl loves it now. Just be wary of the small dog people. I wish they could change it to high energy and low energy dogs. That would much more suitable for all dogs. They also have water available but little to no shade. read more

WARNING TO OWNERS: Watch your dog like a hawk!!! Be careful where your dog plays. When we were here two days ago, there were two large piles of red ants. I like that the dog park separates small and big dogs since I don't trust big dogs or their owners around my little dog. However,the dog park for the bigger dogs seems cleaner with less weeds than the dog park for smaller dogs. I stopped taking my dog to this park when he kept getting those poky plants in his fur. Owners don't necessarily clean after their pets either. The park is essentially dirt and weeds that try to pass off as grass. Not a fan. I will stick to parks. read more

We're so happy to have found this place! Our French bulldog puppy has so much fun today in the little and big dog areas. Some dogs are a little rambunctious, but it's a great place to train and to be able to let the dog off-leash, especially since we don't have a backyard. I am not a big dog park goer since our Shibas are escape artists and we worry about letting them off leash. They would be half way to Kansas before they realized that maybe they should think about where they are going and wait up for mom & dad :) This is sort of a smaller suburban dirt dog park and not the big open trail kind of dog park I envisioned (or had been to in the past). There are a couple of large pens (one for small dogs and one for large ones) that the dogs can play and run in leash free. I think I was expecting more of what you get at Chatfield or Cherry Creek, where it is more open land with trails. I have no idea why, since this is kind of tucked way off Quincy and really only has a small amount of space to work with. It is nice enough if you have a friendly dog who wants to run and play with some new pals in a fenced in area. However, if you are looking for dog friendly trails, then you will be disappointed. read more

Great medium sized dog park close to our house. Well maintained and even has a cute little obstacle course in it. We have had good experiences so far with the other people and their dogs as well. This is a moderate sized park, with two areas for low and high activity dogs. They have a decent amount of grass but some mud today as well. I had not been back to this dog park for several years. The last time I was here, it was full of aggressive, unneutered, male dogs, and their defensive owners. After getting marked a third time, I was pretty tired of it. I was driving by with my dogs the other day and decided to drop in. Some things at the park had not changed. Unless you have handicap parking, you have a bit of a hike from the parking area to the park entrance. Also, this is basically just a giant dirt lot. What had changed was the addition of a small/low-energy dog area and significant landscaping creating small picnic table oases. This is definitely an improvement. There were not that many people here on the day I went. The people and the dogs on this particular day were friendly. There were ample waste receptacles available. read more

Took the pups here today. My gps wasn't accurate in finding it but once you do there's a pretty good space for parking. The dirt path leads to the entrance area for the dogs. This park is HUGE! I love that it's spacious enough for the dogs to run around and not be crowded. There's nice little areas on the side where you can set up a bowl of water for your pups. The dogs here are super friendly and their owners are as well. Bring baggies & water for your dogs. The park is well kept and it helps when the people who go contribute. read more

This park is, as everyone has said, all dirt but it's large and located among a populated area so there is rarely a day without a dog to socialize with yours. Now, like kids, dogs misbehave, need direction, and tend to pick on other dogs. This is the life of dogs and we hope those dog owners with rambunctious and even poorly socialized dogs can step up and keep the training going WHILE in the park. We hope. We gently encourage. Then we take it into our own hands and train YOUR dog. There is NOTHING wrong with this if we are kind and are doing it to help our OWN dog from getting picked on or just played with too roughly. I think most people in a dog park want utopia and this just isn't realistic. The park can be a super fun place to take our fur-babies but we have to watch them like we would children just so THEY can have a better time. No dog is perfect and, like they say of kids, it takes a village to raise them so maybe we could help each other out a bit? That's my rant on Dog parks. As for this dog park: It's good because it's big, has an agility course, has a small dog area, a porto-potty, and is located close to lots of people. It's bad because it's super dirty, tends to attract a LOT of untrained dogs and owners who don't seem to care (see above), and doesn't have much in the way of scenery to look at. This park is a really good size and it leaves plenty of room for our dog to run (and she is definitely a runner). I've been twice now so far and I plan on going many many more times but I will definitely be selective about the times that I go. The first time I went it was around 4 o'clock on a week day and it was pretty crowded; obviously people were taking their dogs after getting off work. There was a group of people sticking together and ignoring their dogs who happened to be large breeds and un-neutered and were picking fights with each other. I had to leave because the fighting was freaking out my little 6 month old lab. The second time I went was on a sunday afternoon and the crowd was much much better. All friendly people with well behaved dogs so my pup was able to run and play carefree. so my advice is to just be selective with the time that you go. Also, there is a small dog area and I beg those of you with small dogs to stick to that side. I know a lot of you seem to think that "your dog can handle it" but someone was there last time with a teeny tiny yorkie puppy that got completely run over because my dog was running at top speed and didn't see it. Its stressful to your little pup so please don't subject your small dog to that. read more

This is a decent dog park. It's all dirt, so I would not recommend it on a rainy day. My pups have fun here, but then again they could have fun with a cardboard box. There is a small dog area which is nice, unfortunately this fence does not keep my German Shorhaired Pointer out of that area. He just LOVES little dogs, so I have to watch him around that fence. I don't go to dog parts very often, but this one seems pretty cool of the ones I've been to. The larger dog park is almost all dirt, with a little more grass in the small dog area. There are a few spots with trees and picnic tables to sit at. My favorite part is the dog obstacle course (ramp, tunnel, jumps). The dog owners here are pretty nice, though I did shoo away several large dogs a few times from my pugs while walking through the bigger dog area. The owners weren't paying attention I guess. Yesterday I took my dogs to Grandview dog park like I have been for the last four years. I have three huskies and anyone who knows dogs knows they have energy. So upon arriving my husky is growling and yelling at another dog like huskies do and they squabble but nothing serious. I take my husky I put him on the leash and I walk him around the park until the other dog leaves. End of that situation. About 45 minutes to an hour after that situation a new dog come to the park and is being a dog. It is excited and sniffing and running up to dogs when it ran up to my huskies (that are obviously packed up being mom dad and son) The dad growled and barked at him for a warning. The woman in the purple pants then proceeded to tell me that my dogs need to go home they're too aggressive and there's no place for dogs like that here. I need to mind you I've been going to this park for four years. She then proceeds to tell me that my dogs are ghetto and I am acting ghetto and that no one wants us here. Obviously offended I defend my dogs and myself saying that they are not ghetto just because their owner is black and my dogs have just a right to be here as yours. Immediately after I was accosted by three other "men" Who proceeded to tell me that I need to leave I need to go and I shouldn't talk to anyone like that blah blah. Upon trying to leave the dog park a group of them walked up to me and told me to never come back and my dogs are too aggressive because they are not neutered so they decided (in their little group of four) that they now run the dog park and I am not allowed to come back. These were adults well in their late 40s early 50s some even closer to the 70s arguing with a 20 year old because my dogs are not fixed. I didn't see a single sign on that park that said dogs must be fixed to attend and I do not know who made them chancellor of the dog park however I thought I would bring the situation to the attention of the community because I doubt I'm the only one. read more

My family loves this dog park. Very big and we've never had any bad experiences. We take our kids and have them play in the rock area that's where you first walk in. We have an Alaskan Malamute so we haven't been in the small dog area. We will continue to come here as our dog loves it and makes new friends every time we go! read more

This park is a pretty decent size for city dog parks. They have the best trash can coverage I've ever seen in a dog park! It is nice that there is a water faucet in the park, too. The agility equipment is nice to have, but it is different than what is actually used in dog agility (seems like it is there mostly for the human kids to play on). Really the only negatives of the park are some of the people who frequent the park. There are too many irresponsible dog owners who go here, especially on weekends. I try to limit our visits to during the week and mid-day and it is much better. There seem to be quite a few intact male dogs that visit this park and they always cause a ruckus. Also, there are families who show up with 5 dogs and 3 kids and let the kids go completely wild. I'm sorry, but if you let your kids run around screaming, then you can't be mad when the herding dogs want to get in on the action. read more

I came here once and that was enough for me. It's possible that I could have come on any other day and this place would have gotten a better review. The place is big and has plenty of room for dogs to play, but that's the only positive. One dog followed my Lilly around nonstop attempting to hump her. Lilly clearly wasn't happy and I was trying to get the other dog to stop. The dog's owner just laughed the whole time. When Lilly finally snapped after about 20 minutes of this the other owner was upset at Lilly and me and finally took her dog away. Then Lilly seems to make friends with a dog and I squat down to say hello. The next thing I know this dog's leg is lifted up in the air and my leg is getting peed on. The owner obviously noticed because when I got Lilly and headed out of the gates the owner came up and asked if I got peed on. She apologized, but it wasn't enough. I was angry. There is also an agility course, which I didn't check out too closely, but it could be fun. The website says they have shade - but I went on a hot day and I don't recall finding any shady spots. This dog park is HUGE! I notice everyone keeps mentioning that it's mostly dirt, and yes it is. I don't think the dogs care all that much. For a park this big, it would cost a fortune to keep it fully grassed. Anyways, it's got a separate section for little dogs, a little agility course, a water pump, and lots of room to run. I've noticed that some people seem to be a little "clique-y" and not as friendly as folks I've run into at other dog parks. However, I've also met one of my best friends there. The proximity to the reservoir does mean mosquitoes, so remember bug spray for yourself! A sad note, this is the only dog park I've come across where there have been aggressive dogs that should NOT have been there. Keep an eye out on your own dogs to keep them safe, because not everyone pays attention. read more

This is a very basic dog park. A good place to let your dog off leash to run and play. It's fairly basic but most of the owners are friendly and the dogs don't seem to mind that it isn't the most beautiful park in the area. This dog park has been redone over the last year or so. It now incudes a small dog section and a large dog area. The separation was needed for sure, and makes our visit much better. The large dog area is basic. There is a pump for water in the summer, a couple of picnic tables and busted tennis balls everywhere. They have put in a couple of agility type obstacles for the dogs to play on, which my Mixer appreciates. Other than that, I love the idea that the small dogs are away from the larger dogs. There seem to be fewer problems that way. I like the double gates. I like that most owners seem to be responsible in bringing only dogs that SHOULD be there. I've seen a few fights, but nothing more than a difference of opinion, rather than an all out attack. Mixer enjoys this park and it's close to home, so we'll keep going. One more thing, please, dog owners, keep up on your kennel cough boosters every six months. Mix had it once and it was horrible. read more

I live incredibly close to this dog park. While I love how convienient it is, I know there are better ones out there. Mostly dirt park on a slight hill. Has a seperated area for small dogs and another area to work on training. Most of the people and dogs are friendly. Parking is easy as well. There are a few picnic tables (3?) around it and minimal landscaping. It also features a hand water pump that I've never been able to operate (during winter). read more

If your dog is a rambunctious low rider like my corgi, this dog park is NOT ideal. I didn't have a negative experience with the intact males, but there were some crazies running around and cussing people out about their dogs mounting other dogs. I wish there were a free, quality dog park in the area that wasn't dirt, like this one, or sand, like the one in Lowry. It gets kicked up into my dog's eyes and clearly irritates her for the rest of the day. It would be great to have a quality dog park like the Wynetka Ponds park in Littleton. read more

This weekend was our first time at this park. We have two 4 month old black lab pups who are just figuring out this social thing, so we had them in the small dog area. Saturday we had such a great experience. The dogs and owners were super friendly and our girls really got to run and play with dogs of varied sizes and breeds. Sunday, however, was a completely different experience. It was a social hour for humans whose dogs HATED being there. One woman brought her dog with a cone on, who shivered in her lap the entire time and growled and snarled when our pups came sniffing. (completely understandable as I'm sure he/she was feeling vulnerable). There were several other people sitting in the chairs near the trees with scared/ timid pups in their laps not enjoying themselves at all. I've always been very hesitant to take pups to dog parks because I don't know how/ if people train and socialize their fur family. But my understanding of a dog park is that its FOR the DOGS. So please pay attention to your dog...if they are stressed and shivering in your arms...they are not enjoying their time and may need some other socialization or training first...if they've recently been sick or had surgery, they should not be there until they are feeling strong. We would follow these guidelines for our human children right??... Right?! My review is less about the park, which seems to be a great place, and more about the pet owners, who may or may not understand play a role in their dogs experience and in other peoples experience. We will be back and we will try the small dog area again, until I know my girls are comfortable socializing with all sized dogs, but I will be less likely to gather my pups up and leave before they've had the chance to play and more likely to say something to the dog owners glaring at me for having curious playful puppies. read more
