One thing I will warn is this summer has been a high rattlesnake year probably because of the construction nearby. I've heard of two bites and we had an encounter with one last week. I will definitely go because it's still my favorite but taking a short break while rattlesnake season is high. It's a beautiful park though so I hope you check it out at some point.

It is not overly big but there are a couple of water stations and trash cans with poop bags. My dogs don't really play or run much here. Important things: Always watch your dog and know where they are at all times! Always pick up your dogs poop! There is a smaller parking lot across the street from park with a short walk to park. Always keep your dog leashed walking to and from park. Redstone park is extremely busy especially in the summer, the parking lot is small and very busy.

I love this…read morepark because I can find the ball I throw for my dog in the sand instead of a park with weeds. There are three canopies W/ tables for shade. If you want to walk, you can follow the packed sand circling the edge. It does get hot here but the canopies make it doable. There is also water and doggie bags with garbage containers.

Lots of slides, two "baby" swings, two regular swings, some bouncy horses, a huge play structure to climb, music station -- lots of opportunity for fun and creativity here! I also noticed there are many sites that mention disc golf in association with this park -- I can see that there would be a good amount of space for that as there are many grassy areas. I didn't see any disc golfers there when I was with my little one though! There is a lot of grass, well-maintained, as well as many cement paths to walk. This looks like a great spot to bring young ones, and it seems that the community makes sure it's well taken care of as well. A fun park!!

My dogs are bigger and need more room to run however. Important things: There are "regulars" (humans) who tend to gather in the middle area to chat which can mean they are not watching their dogs closely. Always pick up your dogs poop! There are plenty of trash cans and poop bags throughout the park. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the park, make sure your a dog is leashed the whole time. Heritage Regional Park is extremely busy in the summer (hundreds of soccer games every weekend) parking lot may be full.

However, it is sadly extremely common for people to bring unneutered and poorly mannered male dogs, who want to hump everything in sight. Since this is my go-to spot when crunched for time, I have seen a tremendous number of nearly-horrible situations, mostly caused by owners who haven't spent the time socializing or training their dogs. There is also an issue of mud. Forget about coming here when the snow is melting or after a rain. It is MUDDY. The dog park is sloped and the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, and so a lot of the water collects there. There is also no grass or gravel. All in all, it's a decent place to go, but I prefer Glendale open space because there is more room for the dogs to spread out, it's normally much drier even after the snow melts, and has a real walking path.

I love the various paved trails throughout the park. I believe it's 4 miles round trip. What I also love about the park is that there is another park directly across the street from the Meadows Blvd entrance. Castle Rock is a fantastic community for walking trails. I also love that this park isn't crowded with too many people. It's actually deceiving as you're passing the Meadows Blvd entrance because the park doesn't look like much. However, if you park and get out of your car to start walking trails, there is so much beauty that begins to unfold. As you venture towards the opposite side of the park there are pickle ball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, two tiny baseball fields, a large swimming pool and children's playground. There is plenty of open space to venture out onto the grass to play your favorite activity with family or friends. Recently, I saw about 3-4 people using a small trampoline and a ball to play a game on the grass. I absolutely love seeing citizens enjoying their local park. Across from the pool entrance there are public restrooms. I used the men's restroom on a recent trip and was impressed that it was kept fairly clean. It wasn't trashed or dirty. Opposite from the Meadows Blvd park entrance is a medium sized parking lot. I've never seen the parking lot full when visiting lately. I also believe that you must reserve any of the courts in the park. Fact check this. Again, plan accordingly. I've seen the Pickle Ball courts full during every trip to the park lately. You can always check the park website for court usage or call the local parks and recreation department in Castle Rock. I hope that you enjoy your visit to this beautiful park! I know that I will continue to enjoy my usage of it. Always look forward to getting my steps in when traveling through it!

Enjoyed a great night out in CastleRock, at CastleRock under the stars. Brews were flowing music…read morewas rocking. Food was on point. This was my rookie year at this event. We got there late but still got a great spot to put our chairs to watch all the bands playing, front & center on the 3rd level. There were over 20 Colorado breweries pouring fantastic brews and several local food trucks. The bands were jamming all evening late into the night. It ended with a great Rock n Roll band and great pours from several breweries. Great area, atmosphere, space & vibes.

Bike Park review:…read more Not many parks are big enough for a dirt bike area but thankfully Bayou Gulch is! There are 3 bike areas, beginner, intermediate and advanced. All 3 have obstacles, hills, bridges etc. Kids of all ages and adults could spend many an hour here. I would highly recommend. Negative: there are almost no trees, so in the summer it would be super hot. Notes: the bike park is not in the same area as the playground and baseball fields (I got lost) so double check directions if you haven't gone before. There is a covered table area and a port a potty at the parking lot area. The bike trails are a short walk from the parking lot. Dogs are allowed just leashed at all times.

We…read morehave our vehicle registered for the yearly pass, but wasnt aware we needed to add a dog to the pass, so we had to pay the $3 daily pass per dog with the state park pass per vehicle so just a heads up for everyone who didnt know that. Without the state pass, daily would be $11 plus however many dogs you have with ya daily, so it is definetely worth it to get the yearly instead when you register! Other than that great park and pretty clean, except some people dont pick up after their dog which is really dissapointing, not the parks fault at all. Very large area and lots of water areas where your furry children splash and play! We come mostly because of the waters for our buddy to swim in!

2026 Season start. The kiddos just love this place…read more Other dogs are nice. We personally have not seen unattended pets. You get to watch the horses. It's always a great place to relax, walk. Just enjoy nature.
