This park is excellent! It's large, and the agility toys are cool. It's in a lovely open area. I'm primarily writing this review for the purpose of voting "No" under the question of whether this park is good for kids, because no dog parks should ever be labeled as being good for kids. Yelp!, I hope you consider establishing a default of "No" under "Good for Kids", to apply to all places under the category "Dog Parks". Recommending that anyone bring children to a dog park goes against common sense, safety, and laws in many communities. read more

People are "clicky" @ the dog park! My dog is the scariest breed of lap dog who cours when people joke loud, is ban. =(

Cool dog park. I like that there's plenty of room to run as well as areas sectioned off. There's also an obstacle course which my dog loved as well as socializing with the many dogs there. This is a nice free and clean dog park. I would recommend this to anyone that would like to socialize their dogs however you have to keep an eye on your dog to ensure they socialize friendly with the other dogs. read more

One of the better dog parks I've been too. More people need to pick up after their dogs though. My pup and I go here all the time. The maintenance crew needs to get rid of several dead trees. Mowing the weeds in the large side of the park more often would be nice as well. There have been several dog fights, mostly German Shepherds from what I've experienced. There are lots of Pit Bulls that come here. read more

There definitely could be more/better grass (FYI - cropped shrubs do not equal grass), but this is one of the bigger dog parks I've been to in the metro, and I love the fact that they have an agility course. My two corgi pups love the hoop and the tunnel! (Sadly, they're too short for most of the other obstacles!). They've outgrown it now, but the "small dog" section was really useful when they were first getting used to visiting the dog park. Overall, this is my favorite dog park in the metro--for all of the aforementioned reasons, and because it's the closest one to me and my doggies :) read more

This park is great! its big enough for your pup to run around and you are able to see where your dog is from any angle of the park. There is always parking and there will always be other dogs to play with. The only down side is that their water supply isn't always on so make sure you bring your own water for your pup! read more

Where's the grass? But there is a small obstacle course. If there were more trees maybe the wind would be less noticeable. It does come with cool dog park people and that is the best part of this park. read more

This park is large with a smaller area for little dogs. There are a couple picnic tables, corner sections with trees, a few agility objects, and a water pump in the summer. Plastic bags are provided by a private service but the bags are too small to really work. Other than that, this park is seriously prone to be very muddy and many people do not pick up after their dogs. The city of Aurora seems to do very little to enhance or improve this area. I would only recommend this park in mild, dry weather. read more

We went here a total of three times. The first two times had a good experience, was cool out not too many dogs and all were super friendly. Went today and my very friendly pup got attacked by a aggressive dog. Our pup has no aggression in him whatsoever and the dog went at him with teeth out attacking my dog's face. I yelled at the dog and the owner to get him away and checked my pup. Their dog got him just shy of his eye. Left marks and blood below and at the corner of his eye. The owner put their dog on a leash for a little while then took him off again. We left as soon as he took his dog off the leash, cause his dog started attacking other dogs as well. As we were leaving a husky arrived and went around attacking other people's dogs. I kept our pup away cause we were leaving. I'm not talking about playful fighting, I'm talking hackles up, teeth out. Ignorant people don't seem to realize that you should not bring aggressive dogs to a dog park! Makes me so upset! read more

My husband rescued a pup this Christmas and we took him on his first road trip this week. We have a wonderful dog park back home in northwest IL with 60 acres of paths and wooded trails, so we're pretty spoiled! That being said, we found the Cherry Creak State Park off leash dog park on yelp and it's our FAVORITE one yet! The paths are very clear, lots of playful dogs with wonderful owners! Our pup loved it, and then we got to the creek and he went ballistic jumping through the water, splashing, jumping, chasing all the other dogs! The water was clean and clear, slow flowing so the pups didn't get swept away, caution though I heard a lot of locals recalling dozens of lost tennis balls and toys down the creek! Lol! Great trails, energetic dogs, nice owners, very clean, flowing water, mountain backdrop, it's going to be hard to top this one! read more

While looking for houses we saw one that was right behind this dog park. We decided to get the house because it was perfect for our Husky that we have a dog park pretty much right in our backyard. We've been here for eight months now and things go pretty well at the park. It seems on the weekend you have the people come out that don't understand dog park etiquette. I don't even take Koda to the park on the weekend because all I can hear is the constant fighting going on between dogs and people not taking responsibility and leaving when their dog starts acting vicious. I was just woken up this morning by dogs fighting. Koda's been attacked twice, once by a Husky and once by a Pit-bull mix that wasn't muzzled. People seem nice enough but haven't made any "friends" yet. It is mostly dirt which is a bummer when it rains or the snow melts because then we have to wait a couple of days to go back. They just installed new poo-bag locations which are convenient. All in all, I take him to the park when he needs to run, and love going in the snow because no one else is there. But I still opt to walk him or take him to the Bayou Gulch dog park more often than not. read more

Not worth the drive, no water, all dirt. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because it's free. Guess it's good for people who need to have their dogs in fenced off area. read more

My dogs always have a nice time here. It is huge with a separate play area for smaller dogs which is cool. There are always friendly dogs and owners. It's really fun to go during or right after a big snow. The only downside is that it's all dirt so it does stay really muddy at times. Definitely don't wear nice shoes and be prepared to give your pups a bath. read more

Mercy loves the dog park. Today was our first time at this one. We all had such a pleasant experience. I only give it four stars because tree was nowhere to fill up the water bowls for the dogs, and the exit from the park back onto Quincy was way to steep and even going slowly bottomed out the front of our new car. Other than that the park was a very pleasant experience. We will be going again, perhaps in the truck instead of the scion lol read more

I took my dog here today and we ended up having to rush off to go to the vet. Due to a corner of the park that is filled with brush and spurs so bad that it tore up the pads on his paws and had to have so many spurs removed from all four paws!!! read more

In general, I like this dog park due to it's location. I have two dogs, one small and one large. I usually put both in the big dog area. Yes, in the fall all the water gets turned off, so bring your own. And yes, it's all dirt but my two don't care. The biggest issue with this park is usually the owners. I was there yesterday and my dog played well but seperatly, with two unalteted male dogs. Of course two unalteted males will fight which is exactly what happened and that's on the owners. Today an owner was trying to train their husky pup to fetch and was xoing it a few feet from the entrance. My dog wanted to play and the owner freaked out when he approached and started wrestling. He whipped my dog with a leash. Trying to train a puppy in an off leash park is just stupid. Doing right at the entrance, even more so. So we like the park but it seems that a few of the owners shouldn't be there. read more
