This is an amazing location if you are visiting the North Cascades. We had a unique experience here. The alarms went off, signaling a breach of the dam (and there are 5 in the immediate vicinity). The staff worked to find out information and to get us directed towards the safest area for evacuation. They did an amazing job and as someone that's job is securing the safety of others, I was impressed. I appreciate the heart and dedication these employees have. It was a false alarm thankfully! We are all safe. Back to information on the actual park, we are 30ish miles from Bellingham, 25 miles to the west gate of the NP and an hour to the ferry to the San Juan Islands. There park is small, beautiful and completely peaceful. We absolutely love it. When we checked in the staff gave us the most thorough information on the park and area we have ever received. There's a great local creamy and a farm to buy grass fed beef, just a few miles down the road. read more

It's our first time in the area, and we were impressed! It's a combination KOA and Thousand Trails camp, and they have great amenities! Well-maintained kids areas, decent showers and a nice laundry room that will accept credit cards. A little pricey at $2 for a wash and $2.25 for dry. The grounds are clean and manicured, decent space and/or trees between most sites. Yurts and cabin's are available for rent. Plenty of places to explore in the nearby Cascades, and town not too far for those grocery/eatery runs. Fairly quiet. read more

We have stayed here several times and always had a fantastic stay. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Our first tow stays were in the 1000 trails side and this last time was on the KOA side with a patio spot. We will absolutely be back many times! read more

no no no , we pulled in 645p . Tired and rainy day. Besides power at our site goi g out @1030 WiFi for 1 hour unless you pay!! We needed because they don't provide cable tv either. We thought we'd use our Amazon stick which works on WiFi which isn't cheap to buy extra .I could go on . Front desk only got defensive . When I thought I should mention to them this NOT the KOA . I know. looks good for kids since a holiday but not sure on that either. read more

She's here over the weekend and to be honest it wasn't the best KOA experience we've had. That being said, my previous experiences with the KOA franchise was pre-Covid, and staffing issues might be related to that. The dog park has been moved and is much smaller than his represented in the website. They had a water breakage so we were required to bring outside water in or boil the water. And to be honest several of the accommodations were not what I would have expected for KOA. One thing to note is that our nights rest was interrupted by large loud fireworks until two in the morning. When I spoke to management about it the next day just curious about what had happened, the on-site manager mentioned that they are in a feud with their neighbors. The neighbors have gone out of their way to make the campers uncomfortable by doing things like revving their motorcycle engines at all hours of the night playing extremely loud and obnoxious music to keep people awake, and obviously setting off fireworks is in that. It is hard to blame the KOA for the unneighborly response by their neighbors, but one must think that there must have been something to have start of the feud. read more

Staff are helpful there . amenities are just average. the kids bingo is fun but the pool is a bit small and everything else is a bit dated and the upkeep is minimal. Not much in terms of scenic natural beauty at this site. It's just functional I do like the luxury cabins they are wonderful to stay in. read more

This RV park is wonderful! The grounds are clean and the staff is polite and professional. We stayed here on a few occasions last summer and fall. Between the pool, playground and recreational events our grandchildren had a ball. Halloween is an exceptionally good time where kids can trick or treat from camper to camper and walk through a haunted house put together by the staff. A little side note: if you believe in ghosts or shadow people, this area is interesting. Sitting around the fire at night near the open area by the miniature golf course you may see shadow movement, CONSISTENTLY, out of the corner of your eye. This isn't just on Halloween!....it's pretty cool. The area itself is peaceful and if you like visiting "out of the way places," nearby, Concrete and Marble Mount are nice. Overall this park is a must stay for the RVer. read more

We really enjoyed this park! The employees were really outstanding and helpful. The park itself was really comfortable and Thousand Trails sites were pretty good size, with beautiful large trees and a fire pit. They have one of the greatest play areas for kids, that allows them to play and not bother campers who don't have kids. There is a really pretty creek and the sound of rushing water could be heard from several locations in the park. There is a nice off leash area for dogs and the park overall is really dog friendly. Other guests were very friendly and social, all made for a really great weekend that was fun and relaxing. I am looking forward to the pool being open next time we visit. read more

The best way to sum this up was a campground that is severely understaffed. Let me say that the people they had working were very nice and respectful and looked tired. This place has so much potential now.... It took us 45 minutes to check in. I tried calling ahead over several hours no answer...ever. When we got to our spot. The spot was advertised online as rv spot with a tent spot...it was not. The tent sites were bigger. Then the pool didn't open until 12:30, the jump pad at 1:30 and by 2 the pool was shut down again. The store wasn't even open. The showers needed to be washed. Badly. I'm just going to pretend that that slimy brown stain on the wall and floor tiles is dirt. I would not recommend until it is better staffed, has a new pool system and new computer phone system. read more

So we discovered after waiting all day long at camp with our kids to go swimming in a pool on one of the warmest days of the entire summer, that one of the employees ruined the chemical level in the pool and most likely we'll have to tell the kids there will be no swimming after they've been looking forward to it since we told them we were going camping. The most frustrating part about this is there is the lake literally 10 minutes away we've been strung along for over 6 hours, and if the employees could have just been upfront we could have made plans and not waste the entire day waiting on their nonsense!!! Nice campground. Check-in was efficient by a friendly "ranger." Campground sites are clean. What is surprising is how limited free wifi is in this KOA. More surprising is that one has to pay for on-site wifi, even though I've already paid good money for my site. That's a bit cheap! The free wifi hotspot, it happens, is at the recreation center. Even there, wifi, when it finally appeared, was an intermittent one-bar signal-- right at the "free wifi" sign. In this day and age, campers generally want good availability of wifi. This campground isn't providing it. read more

Beautiful property, horrible manager. We will never go back to this place again. They charged a reservation fee on top of the daily fee just because we wanted a specific 50amp pull through site. We were told that if we didn't pay it, anyone else who did pay the reservation fee could bump us from the site!! WTF? What kind of business is this? To ad insult to injury, we found another $25 charge on our Visa bill the next month..... they never told us about an early check-in fee when we arrived. A quick call to Visa had this fee reversed. We've used several KOA campgrounds in the past but never again if this is their new business model. read more

Pool was closed due to Health Department shutting it down. KOA charges five dollars per person to play put put golf and to use blob. When I asked if the five dollars could be waived since pool was shut down. Not even a consideration pay the fee. Although not a bad camp ground there are many more better options. In general it appears it is just managed poorly. read more

We had a great group event at Grandy Creek, and I'm just sad that adults aren't allowed on the jumping pillow!

KOA Campgrounds literally left us high and dry just 4 days before our trip by misplacing our reservation for this weekend. We stayed here during Memorial long weekend. The campsites, cabins were all booked and hence we had to pitch tents (2 families) in a RV site. Luckily, there was no gravel. The sites are pretty compact, similar to other KOA sites. We liked the - Nice play area and swimming pool for the kids. Bathrooms and showers are Clean and updated. Beautiful open space. Great for kids. The pool and the spa as well are in tip top shape. Service staff went out of their way to be helpful and gave us great tips. So glad we stayed here. read more

Horrible management. We had reservations for a late night arrival for our annual camping trip with our 6 grandkids ages 3 mo.-9 years. We arrived at 11 pm and there was no information on gate code camp site left for us so we called the number posted for the after hours ranger and got no answer. We tried calling him 3 times over the next 3 hours and still could not reach any one. With tired kids we slept in the parking lot in our RV on the floor (we didn't want to open the slides to access beds in the parking lot). We were up and waiting for the ranger at 8 am the following am and at 8:05 we called the after hours number posted again and was assured that a staff member would be right with us. At 8:30 someone finally showed up. We explained our situation and got checked in...finally. We went to the site assigned for us and it was entirely too small and poorly located for us to be able to park out 42' 5th wheel even though they were told what we needed. We finally found a different site and I started to get things situated and let kids play while my husband went to pay and let them know what site we chose. After stating our frustration at the whole situation you can imagine out surprise when they charged us for the night we spent in the parking lot! My husband started that we were not going to pay for that and was told that we had to and that any discount had to be approved by the manager. He then asked to talk to the manager and was told that she was off that day but that she was coming in to take care of a couple things but they didn't know when. My husband then asked to have her stop at the camp site so we could discuss the matter because we were not going to pay for a night spent in the parking lot through no fault of ours. As he was getting into out car, the girl who was checking us in stick her head out the door and told him that maybe this wasn't the campground for him. He promptly got out and asked her to repeat herself which she did and many husband stated that she had no right to talk to registered guests that way. About 30 minutes later a young man came to the site and told it's we were getting a refund and being asked to leave. Unbelievable. All because we wouldn't pay for something that they did not provide. Try telling 6 little kids that they can't go camping and had to look forward to another 4 hour trip in the car. Decent campground but rude and unprofessional manager and side kick. Will never stay there and will make it widely known through FB so fewer people will also. read more

We have stayed there for 3 Mother's Day weekends in a row and they promote this weekend because you can get a discount on one day if you stay 2 nights. This time I have to write a review because when you promote something you should have it at tip top shape. We drove out on the 6th to check to see what sites might be available since we are thousand trail members and you can only stay at certain spots. On Sunday we noticed the lawn had not been mowed in what it seemed weeks so we thought for sure they would get it mowed. It was very nice the weekend of the 5th and 6th. Well we went back on the 10th and the lawn was still not mowed. On the 11th they did start to mow but they only mowed certain area which I don't get. I don't like walking in 4 inches of grass because you can't see if someone did not pick up there dog shit. My daughter was told she would not get a different spot because they were booked but yet nobody came that weekend and took that spot. They had the pool cleaned but it was not going. It was in the upper 70's both days and would be nice if you are promoting a weekend you would have the pool up and running also. It seems like they have people that are running it this year that aren't qualified for the jobs.Won't be going there next year for mothers day or any other weekend. read more
