Best urgent care I've ever been to. I've taken my daughter there before, and recently I had to go in myself for a severely infected cyst that needed to be drained. The PA, Amber Esparza, made a painful situation as comfortable as it could possibly be. She was kind, compassionate, and honest about the fact that it would still hurt a bit even with the numbing medication because of how infected it was. She did an excellent job, explained everything clearly, and I felt immediate relief afterward. I'm actually going back today to have it repacked. The entire staff was professional and caring. Urgent care, so offers a variety of medical services. We went there for a HFM diagnosis to return to daycare. The staff was extremely good with my little girl (2yo). They were patient and helped her not be scared. The care quality was good as well. We we quickly seen Nd the doctor examined her and git her the needed notes. I was there for a foot problem. I had a foot boot from old injury, asked front desk if should bring in, he advised not necessary they have boots and will provide if needed. PA ordered x-ray, when came back to provide results, appeared to be rushed, I asked how to care for, was advised ice and topical anti inflammatories (suggested a few). I realized I forgot to ask about stability boot, walked backed in receptionist checked with PA, who said I could get one if I needed one. I guess I would have expected that to happen when I asked how to treat, since I'm looking to them as the experts. I say this because it made a huge difference in the pain and discomfort I've been experiencing and entire reason I went to urgent care, to identify cause and alleviate the pain as much as possible. I wish this was a one off, but frankly it's not. I've always been a big proponent of this particular urgent care and have told friends and family about it, but this and the last visit I was there (for my granddaughter) I was underwhelmed. The family members I referred recently told me they've quit going there and found a better option citing similar concerns. We all agreed it's not as thorough or impressive as when we first started going there. We surmised perhaps it's under new ownership. read more

My wife went here instead of going to Kaiser since they were very booked, and she had a broken toe so we were worried about not being able to be seen soon. She came here and sure enough they were able to see her immediately. She told me the staff was very friendly and took great care of her, getting her an X-Ray and a walking boot/shoe. I recently visited Granite Bay Urgent Care for an N95 fit test. While I want to acknowledge that the medical assistants and staff performing the fit test were kind, professional, and helpful, my experience with the provider was extremely disappointing. Throughout the visit, the provider made assumptions about me based on my headscarf and spoke to me in a way that felt disrespectful, unprofessional, and dismissive. Rather than treating me with the same respect every patient deserves, I felt judged and unwelcome. As a patient, I should not have to feel uncomfortable or singled out because of my hijab. Might just be the best medical experience I've had in memory. At an urgent care. If only interactions with my regular medical system went like this. I'll spare you the details, but: despite being fairly busy, i was back in the examination room with a nurse within about 10 minutes, with a fantastic PA after another 5, and 25 minutes later i was out the door having received a thorough exam, xrays, a shot, a diagnosis, a detailed treatment plan with all necessary referrals for specialists and tests, plus 2 Rxs called in. My service and care there is always excellent. I have no complaints. They're quick thorough and efficient and all the staff members are wonderful. This is my first place to go to when I'm sick besides calling up my doctor. I'm waiting for a doctors appointment. PA came in without introducing hisself. He asked me about what I take for my allergies, I told him I alternate between all coz it does has better effects when i change them every season. His reply was "im not going go argue that woth you!" I was surprised & not expecting that. Then he wanted to give me steroids before knowing the results, when I asked why, his reply was " well, I thought u asked for it" It could be handled with better communication, but I know im not going there anymore. read more

I've been to Granite Bay Urgent Care three times now--once for my son's sports physical and twice for my own health issues--and every visit has been a great experience. We have Kaiser, and since they're an approved urgent care for Kaiser, it was super convenient and I just paid my regular copay. The sports physical for my son was quick and easy. The PA (I think his name was Matt) was really thorough, even though it was just a routine check. He was great with my son--asked questions in a way that actually got him to open up, which is not always easy with teens! When I had an illness that just wouldn't go away and couldn't get in to see my primary care doctor, my husband encouraged me to go here. I saw Faith, who took her time, listened carefully, and made sure to consider my existing conditions and meds before treating me. She even taught me a few things about over-the-counter meds I hadn't realized before. More recently, I came in thinking I was having an allergic reaction. Derek saw me that day, and again, I felt really well taken care of. He took my history seriously, did a thorough exam, they did some treatment in clinic and monitored me for a period to ensure I was not getting worse. Derek recommended I follow up with an allergist. Because of that visit, I was able to talk to my PCP, get a referral, and finally get diagnosed with a chronic condition I've likely had for more than a year. The care I've gotten here has not only helped in the moment but also helped me better understand and manage my health long term. Everyone I've seen has been kind, knowledgeable, and really seems to care. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a loved one here--and it's a great option if you have Kaiser and need urgent care. read more

Brought our 2 boys due to a cough of almost 2 weeks. The wait was maybe 10 minutes. Both boys were evaluated and quickly diagnosed. Both had a resp infection but the older had pneumonia. He did an x ray. Breathing treatment and ordered antibiotics for both. There was a hassle with the prescriptions but Kaiser can be that way. Additionally, our younger son has autism & really struggles but they did everything they could to make him comfortable. The MA taking vitals was accommodating. A blood pressure wasn't happening with him and appreciated just moving on instead of repeatedly trying. All in all we were there under an hour and felt confident our kids would feel better soon. This is the best urgent care in the area. The PA who helped me, Bryce, took a full history and made sure he had accurate information before assessing me. He even brought in extra help for my treatment to ensure I was taken care of. On top of that, he called me about a week later in order to check in on me and make sure I was doing okay. This place is great!! So much easier than trying to schedule a regular MD appt for anything. I've never had any complaints in our 4-5 visits prior to today. 5 stars all around!! But... Today, the staff was unaware everyone could hear their conversations (through the closed doors). F bombs, and the like were flying for 15 minutes. I've always joked that this place is one of the "hot spots" of GB. It's definitely the place I've recommended to the most friends! My youngest went through a season of one sickness after another, and it became a common stop for us during that awful time. They were always so gentle, kind and attentive with her (and me, as a worried mama!). It is always fast to get in and out, I have never felt rushed. In fact, I went in with a sore Achilles tendon and came out with a boot that completely solved my issue after a few days, and the entire time I spent there was less than 45 mins. Dr Ellis and his PA's are always incredibly thoughtful and compassionate. I always feel heard and able to ask any questions I may have. But today took the cake. My older daughter, 3.5 yo, seems to have developed a sudden fear of doctors (thanks flu shot!). She had an earache and so i brought her in with the full family in tow. She entered hysterically crying and left happy and at peace. She and my 2.5 yo daughter were treated with patience, kindness and playfulness. Given "glove balloons" with smiley faces, allowed to inspect and handle some equipment to help them feel safe and interested, and our PA took extra time to ensure my daughter was ready to have her ear examined. And, of course, the treasure chest as we left was a huge hit. I am always grateful for this facility and have highly recommended it to friends. I carelessly skipped a step going down my stairs in the middle of the night. Landed face down on a hardwood floor. Ugh. Went back to bed. Two days later, I drove to Granite Bay Urgent Care knowing something was wrong. No way was I going to the ER! Much to my pleasure, parking was easy, registration with my insurance was quick and seamless. I quickly was examined, X-rayed and told I had a broken kneecap. Granite Bay Urgent Care gave me a referral to a wonderful orthopedic group in Roseville who I visited a few times. Long story short: I also had a fractured elbow bone. No surgery or physical therapy needed. Just 6 months to heal my broken bones. I'm back better than ever. If you have insurance, please consider going to Granite Bay Urgent Care if it's not a life-threatening circumstance as in my case. My quality of care was outstanding and no unnecessary wait times. read more

I brought my son in for his sports physical, and there were two groups behind us. After being told to be seated and that we would be called up to sign a credit card form, the staff called and saw the two families behind us first. We were all there for the same reason, yet we were seen last because they overlooked us. I find this unacceptable and feel very unappreciated. I work full-time, and my son has practice every day. Being pushed to the back of the line due to either inconsideration or disorganization is very frustrating. My time is valuable, especially during the week when I have little to no time to cook dinner, let alone wait for others to receive a service I was due to have before them. Please pay attention to the patients in line so that those who arrive first are actually seen first. I understand there are special circumstances where others have priority, but everyone there was in for a sports physical. Put it this way, the boy who was in line behind us, was already leaving before they called us up to sign the credit card receipt. My husband took him last year so this was my first experience here. I was immediately led to a room - greeted by PA Grossi who immediately cleaned the wound and administered nine stitches. Less than a hour from arrival to departure .... Make Granite Bay Urgent Care your first stop and avoid the hassle of trying to get into Sutter Urgent Care. Kids will always wait until after 5:00pm to tell you they aren't feeling well. Got turned away from Sutter Auburn because my grandson had a runny nose. Was told to call and make an appointment for who knows when. Drove from Auburn to Granite Bay to Granite Bay Urgent Care for a refreshing experience. The receptionist worked with me getting all the paperwork (insurance) straightened out and within minutes we were in the exam room getting the preliminary exam completed. After a shout wait the doctor came in and I explained what his symptoms were and what had and had not worked in the past. The doctor listened to me and verified whey we thought his our grandson's ailment was. The whole process was actually enjoyable and we were out of there in short order. When was the last time you said that about one of the majors? Like I said earlier, Starr here and avoid the hassle of the majors. You'll be happier after the experience. read more

I have visited GB Urgent care a couple times over the past year and each time I am more impressed with them! This last time I went in to be tested for strep. I was out of there in less than 30 minutes and they had tested for Covid and strep. Since I was positive for strep, they called in the prescription to be picked up at the Kaiser pharmacy of my choice.
