5 stars because i can't put 10 stars. I have owned boats for 30+ years and I have never dealt with a more friendly , knowledgeable and honest company. Had a warranty issue with a 3 year old pontoon boat, it sat at the dealer I bought it from for 6 weeks and I finally took it back. I reached out to granite state dock and marine and they went over and above for a boat they didn't even sell. They reached out to the manufacture and had the necessary repairs done within a week. I travel over an hour to get to them and have no problem doing this because they are the Best!!!! shout out to Mike and Jen thank you for getting me back on the Water !!!!! read more

Don't buy anything used from these people. They were going to replace our Bimini top and never did. Sent us two in the mail that we not correct! Gave them our entire set up for 8 months for an template and they did nothing with it! read more

10 Stars if this site allowed !!! I must admit, I was a little nervous when I heard there was a new owner taking over the dealership a year or so ago. So, last summer I had an issue with my Mooring and Bimini covers, they were slowly disintegrating. I reluctantly called Granite State to see what they could do. Jen at Granite State Dock and Marine asked me to send her some photos to her to support my claim and she would see what they could do. A week or so later, she called to inform me that although Berkshire was reluctant to cover the covers under warranty, she was able to convince them and my new covers arrived a few weeks later. This alone was enough for me to establish a lot faith in the new ownership. It gets better though. When I dropped off the boat to get the new covers fitted/installed and have boat winterized, I pointed out some other concerns that I have had since the boat was new (Engine sitting very low causing wires/hoses to get crushed when tilting the engine up, steering system jittery when cold (air in system?), broken door stop, etc. They took care of all my other concerns and did not charge me a dime. They raised the engine and installed stops to limit the engine from crushing anything. They bled the hydraulic steering system and topped off the fluid. They replaced the broken door stop, and installed the new Mooring and Bimini covers all under warranty. They are and will always be the only place that I will bring my boats for service, even though its an hour and a half drive. Hands down the best customer service experience I've ever had! The owner of the business is rude and does not care about customer service. Stored my boat for the winter and returned the boat with damage to the side of the boat and engine not working. Of course they claimed I had the damage before - not sure how that could ever happen in the location of the damage. They just yell louder because they are always right! They are unbelievably the most incompetent company I have every experienced in my life. I do not usually write reviews but I had to because of the way I was treated on the telephone. People tried to warn me and I did not listen. I hope you listen - you will be disappointed not only in the way they treat customers but in their service. Just stay away! read more

Apparently decent place for new sales, but service is spotty at best. One time had a good experience, with attention to detail and knowledgeable staff. Next time, charged me for a work never done, quoted me 3 days, took 2 weeks, and work was utterly incompetent. Literally charged me $150 for not doing anything at all but holding me up during peak boating season. After calling them when I discovered no work had been done at all, refused to return phone calls or emails, and ignored everything until I sent a complaint to the AG's office. They responded to them with a rambling rant with the grammar of a 10 year old, saying we didn't know anything about boats, they were experts, etc. Few days later I get an email saying they will refund my money, but only if I take down Yelp and Google reviews and promise to only give good opinions of them. read more

First time I ever felt compelled to write anything like this about anybody or business. On Saturday, May 19, 2012I needed a part for my boat and was passing by Granite State Dock and Marine in on Rt. 28 in Derry NH so I stopped in to order the part. I was told by the owner Scott Buckland that he needed the seriel number off my boat engine so I told him I would call him with it when I got back to my office. I called him around 11:30am and he said he would see what he could do. I offered my credit card number because he told me it was a special order and needed to be paid in full. He said he would get it when he called me back. He said he closed at 2:00 that day, At 1:30 he hadn't called yet so I called and left a message to call me. Still no return call, so I left a second message, still no call back. Today May 21st I called again and spoke to Jeremy who said Scott was test driving a boat and should be back any minute and he would call me back in 10 minutes. Over an hour went by still no call so I called and Scott answered the phone and immediately started berating me for calling "9" times! I calmly explained about our conversation on Saturday and that I was waiting for a call back. He said he told me he couldn't order it on the weekend. I told him what he said that "he would call me back after he checked on the part and get my credit card number at that time. He said I did not here him right and told me to get the part somewhere else and "hung up on me". I called him back and asked why he would treat his customers like that and he told me to go F*&% myself and hung up! I would advise searching other dock and marina services in the Southern NH area like Rockingham Boat in Hampstead, Dockside Marine in Salem or HK Powersports in Windham. read more

I am proud to be the first reviewer of this business. You know that old adage three strikes and you're out? Well this place wont even get the third from me. I was looking for parts for a newer small Mercury outboard motor. The first time I called this place (they are an authorized Mercury dealer) and asked them if they had a propeller -now that's not an unusual request - its a pretty common item as they do get damaged. The place put me on hold for an eternity and then finally picked up my call and said let me call you back. Now mind you I had provided them with the serial number on the motor so there wasn't much to look up. That was a month ago and I have yet to hear back from them. Now today I was driving by and thought to myself, gee I need some mercury shear pins. Against all my better judgment I pulled in, got out if my car and went in this place. The guy waited on me pretty quickly and I asked for the pins. He said "no gots but I can order em" and I said "you're kidding". He replied "why would I be kidding" and promptly told me to wait for a minute while he attended to an online boat auction on the laptop behind the counter. I waited for 3 minutes like a fool till I finally announced "I'm all set on the pins" and walked out. He never turned around to acknowledge me. Just kept his back to me and grunted. Now I realize that the sum total of the parts I was requesting was like a measly $70 but I'm still a paying customer and how does he know I'm not in the market for a high-end boat (like the ones he sells). I could have been a cash buyer but he'll never know cause i'll never give him my business again. You know the expression that if you're dissatisfied with a transaction, you tell 3 people? I recently purchased my first bass boat at Granite State Dock & Marine. I looked at a number of boats at different places including Bass Pro and Cabela's. Scott's customer service was the biggest reason that I decided to purchase here. I never felt like he was trying to sell me a boat. Scott answered all my questions professionally and respectfully. He never bashed a competitor, he simply went over the differences. The most important factor to me was that Scott was the only person who offered to explain everything on the boat to me and even offered to go out on the water with me. Brought my used Bayliner to be inspected and serviced. A few days later the owner said he had bad news. I asked what? He refused to tell me over the phone. So now I had to drive down to the shop. I arrive, and he says I have to wait 20 minutes because a person was buying a boat. I wait about 20 minutes and he tells me 2 cylinders are bad on my boat. Not sure why this couldn't be told over the phone??? Another person comes over to buy a boat, and he leaves me there. He then says I have to charge $190 ( he wanted to charge more, but he said he felt bad) for the time to look at the boat. Irwin Marine in Litchfield looked at my boat for free. If I had them look at the engine it would have been $80. I thought a smaller shop would be the way to go, I was wrong. read more

Granite State Dock & Marine deserves 0 stars if I could give them one. STAY AWAY!! Had seen a boat on craigslist they had listed and gave them a call. Spoke to a salesman named Phil and we discussed the price of the boat and agreed that I would be up there coming from Rhode Island the next day with the full amount in a check. The next day, I was approximately 15 minutes away from the store when I received a call saying that the boat was sold. I had wasted a whole day of work just to only be turned away at the last second. Coming from a background in business, I've learned that customer service is essential to customer satisfaction and these people need a wake up call! Unreliable service, terrible communication and an awful attitude towards a customer are just some of the many reasons I and others should steer away from doing business with these people. read more

yikes, I do not think in my entire life have I very been treated so rudely, brand new boat 30k...loved them when we met at the boat show. Had to bring boat back after being in the water for a total of 8 hours, shift was not working correctly called to see when it would be ready. Yes, I did call twice in one day but no call back (so calling twice is on me i admit) Just wanted to make sure it would be ready for weekend, spoke with Scott the owner, he said he could not get boat to act up at shop. (OK?) and suggested us the owners might not be able to work the boat correctly (OK?) extremely rude about it, told me that I called twice in one day and that every-time he had to pick up phone stopped him from working on boat(s)....YIKES....honestly...I am shocked at the costumer service, and he is the owner! Also asked to put in a depth finder....so more cash, that's OK as long as it works fine, my husband and I work hard for a living and buying this boat was our dream. I am not saying this is a bad place I don't have enough experience yet to declare that, just how unprofessional I was treated. 30K? think I can call twice. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The guy at the counter continuously called me "kiddo" they promised it done at a certain date. Then told me they didn't have the parts the day before I was planning to pickup. It's too bad that business owners don't think twice about how they conduct business these days with all of the ways reviews can be made online. We had a pretty good experience with this place when we first went - the owner seemed very knowledgeable about the trailer we were looking for and told us if he didn't have one that he could order one right away and have it within a week. We called him about a week after we first went by to ask him to order the trailer. He said sure, let me make some calls and I will get back to you. Two days go by so I decide to call him back and see if he has found anything. He tells me nope, I didn't forget about you but I have not heard back from my contacts yet. Seemed odd since when were were there a week previous he said he could just pick up the phone and order one. Anyway, he told me he would give me a call back as soon as he heard. That was over a week ago and we have not heard back. Unfortunately there aren't many options for marinas in the Derry/Londonderry area so we were happy when we found this place but after this experience we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

The owner makes no eye contact when you go in, (that is if your even acknowledged for having walked into e shop), best and clearest way to describe it is that he speaks to you like he's doing you a favor with whatever potential business you may bring to him, is is repeated feeling I have gotten going in there a few times, each time thinking the last one was just a bad day. Phone communication when calling the business is not much different. This is by far the worst I have ever seen of any business in any area of retail or service. I'm not sure how he stays in business, because based on what is very obvious there is no caring for the customer. If there is something you want done he can't be bothered discussing it with you, he behaves as if he thinks customers are idiots and just wants you drop it off and he will take of it, not knowing what "it" is, the customer doesn't receive respect enough to have e issue discussed to explained. For your own sanity, for SO many reasons, go to Irwin Marine in Hudson very professional, helpful, takes time to go over anything with you, they were a huge breath of fresh air compared to Granite state. I can't express enough how horrific granite state is. I write this to save anyone the unwanted tension and extreme disrespect that comes with going there. read more
