Definitely do not recommend this company. They do not stand behind their work. First, do not sign their contact. They want you to pay in FULL before they will begin the work. That way they won't come back and fix any problems. I am not sure if the guy who measured for the counter tops messed up, or the guy that cut the granite messed up, or the installer messed up. My counter top was one inch longer on my back wall. This caused my molding having to be moved causing a gap in my wall behind the counter. Because of this inch the hole in my sink did not line up with my granite making it difficult to get the faucet in. The back splash behind one counter top was an inch longer than the counter top, so it is longer than the counter. The back splash does not back up flush with the wall on two sections of the counter top, leaving a 1/8" gap. In the middle of my bar is a 1" X 1 1/2" large spot. I realize they can't do anything about the spot, BUT, whoever did the cutting had to see this spot and know it was right in the middle of my bar! Why would they not have called me and we could have put this spot anywhere else, but not in the middle of my bar? Also at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the day before I was scheduled to have it installed they called and cancelled my appointment. Mind you, the contract says you must have your old counter top off and sink out. I waited a week and finally called them to find out what was going on, because noone bothered to contact me. I complained and they have done nothing to fix any of these problems. So buyer beware! I do not recommend this company! read more

This company does not even deserve 1 star. I wish I would have checked reviews before placing my order. The paying in full should have been my first clue to use a different company. It took months after me paying in full to recieve an installment date. The installers were suppose to show up between 4-5pm. No call until 7:30pm, saying they were running late but will be at my house at 9:30pm. At 9:30, received a text saying they are running late and just finishing up the current job. They showed up until 11:45 pm and didn't leave my house until 3am! I obviously emailed and called the company asking to speak with the supervisor- recieved no response. Left several messages. A lady did call to do a follow up and see how things went and if I was satisfied. I told her what happened. She was shocked they showed up so late and told me she would have the Supervisor call me. To this day, the supervisor still has not called me. Installers did not caulk the top of my backsplash and the company refuses to come back and caulk it for me, so I have to hire another person to finish their job. They claim since my wall was uneven, they were not responsible to caulk it. I also was not thrilled with a long black line (the length of my hand) in the middle of my countertop. Ofcourse, "its apart of the Granite, so their is nothing they can do about it". I am extremely discussed with this company. read more

Beware!!! Of GRANITE WORKS in Waverly NY. They do not stand behind their products. I recently purchased three Kitchen granite countertops from them. One of the granite countertops had a 3/8" diameter by 3/16" hole in the surface. The hole was filled with process dirt upon delivery. I could place a wooden tooth pick in the surface of the granite countertop and it would stand vertically on its own. It took weeks for Granite works to respond to the manufacturing defect. They don't respond to emails or telephone calls in a timely professional manner. And their remedy was to smear some epoxy in the hole. And Granite works refused to discount the product. If you are looking for a company with shady business practices this is the place for you. I needed a spot fixed on my granite island. I sent them a picture of 3 by 3 inch area I needed polished. I was initially quoted by email a price of $256.45 (of which I have a copy but am unable to download to this post). Then the quote was $494. I agreed to the price (which they made me pay in advance) because Tami said it was a long process that would take about 2 1/2 hours because they had to refinish the entire island. I envisioned some sort of long process of stripping etc. as granite refinishing is not my area of expertise. Well today the very nice gentleman came and buffed out the spot on my island in 6 minutes. He was here a total of 13 minutes. Of course, I called to see about getting some money back. I mean $200 seems more than reasonable for a 10 minute job. Tami checked with her supervisor who said they would refund me $50 because I did not purchase the cleaning materials they offered. I tried to plead my case with her and was told it was not her decision to make. So I asked to speak to whomever is making the decision and was told she could not give me that person's number. What the heck kind of business won't give out a supervisors number to an unhappy customer. For this reason I am in the process of writing to the Attorney General of the state of new York to complain about business practices of Granite Works in Waverly, NY. If anyone out there knows who is in charge of making decisions there and could let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. read more

Product choices are great and staff was easy to work with. Installation went very smooth. A couple of very minor issues were noticed after the install and a crew was dispatched immediately and corrected the issues quickly. Installers were careful, conscientious and polite. read more

We had a VERY large project completed 6/2017 came home on Friday evening to find our bathroom sink completely detached from the countertop. After much research most granite companies recommended metal fasteners which was not completed. Called for repair which isn't under warranty. This is just another reason I WOULD NOT recommend this company. We have a crack over my sink and mismatched backsplash as well as a cut in the countertop where we were told would be 1 piece. read more

This company is dishonest. I had to sue them. The owner, Jason VanDyke, said on a call that making his customers happy is not a priority. I paid them upfront in full for counter top work and a C-Tech sink. They sold the sink that I paid for, $550, and gave me one that was hanging in display without all the parts. They promised to replace the sink when new stock came in they never replaced it or finished the installation. I called them weekly for a year, no returned calls, no returned emails. I sued them and won a judgement. I went back to them and gave them another chance to make it right without telling them about the judgement. They put a plan in place to correct their error and when they found out I sued them and won, they pulled out of the deal. Stay as far away from this company as you can. There is something strange going on here IMO, may not be granite. read more

did no caulking, were very unfriendly at install. Threw out my faucet and then had to pick it out of the trash. Installers had no paperwork at all. Had no idea what the balance due was and provided no receipt!! Apparently this company has no idea what that is? I had to call several times in order for them to "create" a receipt for me. It started out well with a very knowledgable and efficient sales person. Unfortunately after she left it went downhill from there. First, they made us pay in full before they would do the installation (big mistake). The installers arrived 3 hours past the scheduled time. They were supposed to arrive between 3 pm and 5 pm and they arrived at 8 pm. They did not call to give updates. Then they cut the granite wrong and tried to piece it together. At 11 pm we told them to go home and re-do the slab and come back another time. The corner was not cut correctly and the refrigerator will not open if pushed back all the way. There's a bubble that needs to be ground down. They will not return to finish the job. They will not take phone calls or reply to emails. When we finally did reach the owner he makes excuses and told us "he can't please everyone". Very disappointed with this experience. read more

I had driven by Granite works many times over the years. Their building is much bigger than it used to be! My husband and I wanted to stop in a see what they offer since we are looking into a kitchen remodel in the next year or so. We stopped in on Saturday and the girls in the office, Caitlyn and Kristie, were so cheery and pleasant. I was surprised at how much their facility has to offer, and it was neat to see their indoor warehouse! I thought all their granite was outside in front...but the majority of their stone slabs are inside and there was a ton to choose from! We left our preliminary kitchen plans with them and they said they would send a quote to our e-mail on Monday. Glad we stopped here! read more

We stopped in this afternoon to check out the materials that are carried and to potentially select countertops and ceramic for our kitchen remodel and additional bathrooms were building. The 2 people who were working in the "showroom" were the most lazy salespeople I've ever met. We were wondering if they carry quartz products and the sales person we met as we came in said yes, they do carry quartz. When I mentioned we were interested in quartz countertop materials, the woman showed us where the different samples were located but didn't bother to describe the pros, cons or features of the different brands. She just said that we could take them outside, since the lighting wasn't very good in the showroom. The showroom was very dimly lit. Displays were pretty haphazard and not neatened like I'd expect. They do carry tile, granite and quartz. We didn't spend much time there as it was even difficult to get the names for the products we liked. God forbid give us a price/square foot!! We hired Granite Works to install granite countertops in our kitchen. We had multiple problems with the office staff, with the install teams and with upper management. When they first came with our granite it was in two pieces. We paid an extra $500 to have one seam. The install team told us our cupboards weren't leveled and that we'd have to hire a contractor to fix this before they could install. This was never mentioned during the template measurement day. When they returned with the granite in two pieces rather than three they told us there was one small scratch in the granite and promised it could be buffed out. Well, there was three scratches and one left a huge cloudy area on our black granite. We were told it was within industry standards. Then, the install team asked where we wanted the faucet hole drilled. We showed the team the box/picture that the faucet came in. We told them the faucet should be placed in the center of our 50/50 sink with the sprayer 6 inches to the right. They installed the sprayer 6 inches to the left of the faucet. The installers told management this is where I requested it to be placed! Not true! In our office area there was a 2 cm gap between the granite and cupboards. We were told this was within industry standards. We called our lawyer. After weeks of negotiations they did refund us 20% of our initial cost. Be careful consumers!!!! read more

At the moment, I am very disappointed with Granite Works. We have used them twice in the past and are ready for a third installation. Surprised to learn they want 100% payment prior to measuring. Concerns I have with that are: 1). An installation of people we know about 10 years ago resulted in the granite pieces not matching and was never resolved. 2.) Our second installation was "completed" without the cut out around the stove being ground and polished. In order to get a date for them to come back and finish the job correctly, I withheld payment until the day it was completed. 3.) Reading reviews on line indicate there are issues with customer satisfaction. 4.) They cannot guarantee the slab would be cut into one piece until they measure. They won't measure until we pay 100%. Called today, as we are ready to order and tried to negotiate with an office girl named Liz. Liz explained that they are not a bank and have to protect themselves from people who will look for any excuse not to pay. Conversely, I am not a bank either and don't believe I should finance their inventory along with taking the risk that if the job is not done per spec, I will be stuck with it. I offered to meet them halfway and pay 50% up front and 50% upon completion but that offer was refused. Bottom line is beware of a business that is out to protect their interests at the customer's expense. Unfortunately, I really liked the slab we picked, but cannot take a risk of poor workmanship. I left it that if they choose to accept my offer of 50/50, they can call me. Haven't heard a word. read more
