So this is probably the first restaurant that I've eaten at using Yelp as the deciding factor. After the first day in Barcelona and eating at the hotel we wanted to try some local fare. This place did not disappoint. The ambience, staff and food was on point. Give it a try and you are in for a great meal.

Ah, the fancy breakfast in the morning consisting of brunch items. I had the Goat Cheese sandwich because of the overdosing of Jamon Serrano I have been indulging in every single day in Spain. It was good, but not excellent. The vegetables were fresh and the cheese plenty. The open sandwich eggs benedict were good, love runny eggs and herbs with the smoked salmon underneath, but it was a bit too heavy for an early morning meal. Dishes are medium large, so you can share. The place is small, and it does get packed fast. They also have a variety of cold pressed juices excellent for detoxing before you keep abusing your liver later that day. Nice but slightly slow service.

First-round- seasonal fresh juice. Today's juice was made of an orange, watermelon, and raspberry.. we couldn't help ourselves... Pancakes with mango sauce and I went with the waiter's recommendation of the Açaí and chia pudding - both were great choices!

Laverne N. and I came by for lunch upon stumbling across this place on Yelp. The decor of the place was super cute with garage doors as walls and rustic tables. To start off, I ordered the austin juice, which included apple, orange, and carrot - YUM! I would definitely order this again. For an entree, I ordered the satay chicken, which was served in a curry + coconut milk sauce along with rice. I would pass on this dish and get something else. The service definitely could have been a little more attentive and more efficient. But overall, I could see this place being a nice place to study or hang out.

After eating so many potatoes, bread, and ham in Barcelona over the weekend, we were ready for something a little bit healthier and different than the traditional Spanish food. But maybe I should have stuck with traditional Spanish food because this was disappointing to me. Maybe I'm spoiled by having lived in San Francisco for too many years, and having had proper brunch food in SF, NY, LA, etc. but for the price and for what we got, I wasn't particularly impressed. This place seems pretty popular for weekend brunch, so be prepared to wait 15-20 min for a table. We had to catch a train and couldn't wait for a table, so we placed a to-go order and ate outside on a nearby bench which worked out quite well. I was happy they were able to do this. For those of you looking for WiFi, they don't have any free WiFi here. Huevos Rancheros - This had one flour tortilla, refried beans, melted cheddar cheese, salsa, and an egg. It was okay - for some reason the taste of the beans + cheese + flour tortilla reminded me of Taco Bell's burritos, which is not a terrible thing, but I guess I was expecting something different. I believe this was €10, which is not exactly cheap. The salsa was a bit on the sweet side (we've found this to be true in most of Europe) and not very spicy. This was okay, I didn't care for y poached egg with toast, so I actually preferred this dish over the one that I had ordered. Poached Egg with tomato jam, jamon on bread with a side salad - The bread threw me for a loop on this one - it was like a sweet hamburger bun that may have been like a milk-bread and toasted. It just didn't really go with the poached egg and savory flavors very well; I would have preferred a French bread or more like the traditional pan con tomate that is served in Barcelona. The egg was fine, it didn't particularly seem freshly poached to me, the ham was a bit salty, and the salad was just average - but I was happy to have some lettuce and tomatoes because it was the first salad I had had in days. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this dish. They have other items like waffles, eggs benedict, fresh juices, and other very traditional brunchy foods from the States If you're visiting from a metropolitan city in the States and eat a fair amount of brunch foods like this, just skip this place as you'll be disappointed. I'm sure for some people who aren't used to eating foods like this, it will be fine. I don't think I'll be back here again though -- I'd give this between 2 to 2.5 stars.

Simple breakfast done right. While we love trying new eateries while in vacation, sometimes you just want rags, toast, a good coffee and a healthy juice to start your long sightseeing days off right. Fresh juices (like the real thing made in house, not store bought) and quick service that will get you on your way while feeling good. Although, this place is quite charming, you'll probably want to stay for a bit after the check to look through the open windows/walls and soak in the local life of L'Eixample.

A trendy bohemian kind of brunch place in the center of Eixample. We came around 2pm on Saturday and had to wait around 30 minutes. It is not the worst wait since you can sit on the bench some meters away from the cafe in the shadows and enjoy watching people passing by. The cafe seems to be a mix match of locals, expats and wandering tourists which is a good thing because it gives it diversity. It is more on a pricey side for Barcelona but still a good option for a brunch in the area. My scrambled eggs with added mushrooms, Parmesan and salmon were seriously delicious. It is always like this with simple food- not that easy to get it right but if you do, it's top notch. The juices are good, they are more light than rich. The most I loved about the place is a decor, it seems so trendy, with this little magazines and comics lying around, big lamps hanging quite low and a big wood table to share. I would come back

We were on our way to Sagrada Família and came across this place. A well decorated and nice place for breakfast or lunch. We had to wait outside because it was packed. I had the fried eggs and it was good. I would recommend this place.

The Granja Petitbo is a lovely hangout with yummy food and a nice ambiance. The wooden tables laden with great magazines, the worn-in leather furniture and the warm staff all contribute to a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for a morning cortado and croissant. If you're looking for something a bit heartier I think it's pretty hard to go wrong; the burgers and sandwiches are delicious, salads fresh and the full breakfast/brunch menu is satisfying and well presented. A good spot to grab a table and read or socialize with friends, in my opinion the best time to do so is on a weekday morning or early afternoon when the place is much less busy than at Sunday brunch but equally enjoyable. Laid-back vibes, fresh food and excellent juices make for a reliable lunch or breakfast any day of the week. read more

I took myself out to brunch here one afternoon and the entire experience was a pleasant one. The restaurant was beautifully placed on the corner of a busy Barcelona street and the window view offered a beautiful perspective to watch people go about their daily lives while I took the time to take a nice break from mine. They have sweet and savory options for a price that won't break your bank. Coffee and fresh pressed juices too that are cheaper and tastier than some you'll find elsewhere. read more

Whatever city I'm in, I try out cafes until I find the one that clicks. Granja Petitbo is that - its a charming ambience (Including a map that I want to steal so badly), the baristas are friendly and make you feel like you're in their home, and... the coffee/juices/food are all great! Even the hamburger is delicious - which (in my experience) is difficult to find in Europe. I do schoolwork here a lot... and I'm going to miss it when I go home. Amazing! I'm a super harsh café critic, but this place has managed to be one of the best cafes I've ever been in. It is beautifully decorated, and has cool sofas lining one side while also big windows so you can look outside. There are communal tables and also more intimate tables for groups of all sizes, and a really lax atmosphere, while at the same time really classy. The waiters are really really nice in a way that I've never seen waiters be before. I was actually really surprised by how welcoming everyone was. The food. Oh my goodness. I ordered a delicious (maybe a little thin) hot chocolate and a piece of cake that was to die for. In Barcelona, I usually don't find great or good cake but here is an exception, and such a nice one. Wow, so much variety. They have delicious and interesting juices, some more lunchy options, and much more. As if it wasn't already a great place, this café is in a wonderful area. Usually pretty busy in my experience, and locals go there (always a good sign) although there is a lot of tourism. Pretty manageable price wise too, I have no complaints. Looks like a great spot to study, although I'll have to try that the next time I go... Because I'm definitely coming back. read more

Love the space, food was delicious, coffee was tasty, and staff were very nice. Great location too, not too crazy busy area, but still plugged in. Reasonable prices along with veggie and meat options, so my wife and I were happy here, would absolutely return and recommend ;) only complaint is the staff can sometimes be slow, forgetting coffee order and check when we were ready to leave, had to remind a few times which isn't ideal. read more

This is typical of the great new Barcelona brunch scene. Very cool decor and relaxed feel. We sat at the bar and watched all the amazing food and juices roll out. Benidict: good, but slightly undercooked. Juevos ranches: great. did not taste mushrooms. Spanish level of spicy. Juices were great. We will be back. read more

Good ambience, food is ok. Service is slow...but to be fair, service is consistent with all the other restos we've visited in Spain so maybe it is their culture to not "rush" you to order or pay. I loved my pancakes with mascarpone cheese and coulis but my hubby's waffle was dry. Coffee is beautiful read more

The juice is always fresh. I really enjoyed the carrot juice mixed with apples and pineapples. The pancakes are pretty small but fulfilling. Service was awesome and it felt like you were visiting a loved ones house. read more

Hands down, my favorite brunch in Barcelona (yes, I liked it even better than Federal Café, which is slightly overcrowded these days). They have got a wide selection of egg dishes, sandwiches, fresh juice, and also plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Everything is fresh, organic and just delicious! The ambiance is great, and that big window with the view on the busy Passeig de Sant Joan is a top spot! The service is also very nice, attentive and quick, even though the place gets busy really quick. I am definitely returning to this place when back in Barcelona. read more

I have to say, I'm extremely picky with restaurants and their ambiance and Granja Petitbo nails it on the spot. Most importantly, the food is amazing. I've tried two "menu del dia"s and each time amazed. They use quality ingredients fresh from local sources. I'm not scared to venture throughout the menu because I haven't been disappointed thus far. As for the service, all the workers are pretty friendly (a change from the normal service staff in Spain). Very attentive and always greeted with a smile. Granja Petitbo is a little gem. I always love going there to grab a bite to eat or even just to work on my laptop with a nice cup of coffee. Get's pretty busy during lunch hours but other than that, a pretty laxed vibe. Cute decor too. read more

Ambience: Quaint, rustic, cozy, plenty of space. Outlets near 3 or 4 tables (or the ones I could see) and WiFi!!!! Also, I like the big communal table. Service: Prompt and courteous. No complaints. Food: My friend got the patatas salvajes, (4 euros) which is pretty much patatas bravas, but I think the patatas are not fried. Rather, they're simply cooked in oil? Horrible description and guess haha. I liked the sauce. Cafe con leche was standard. Everyone around us was getting desserts, which severely tempted us. All in all, I will be back, perhaps to study or work on a project. Or just to eat haha. read more

This little gem was near our Airbnb so we decided to go check it out. It was excellent! They have a wide variety of pressed and natural juices. My boyfriend got the nana with pineapple and other tropical fruits--it was delicious and so refreshing! I had a classic natural orange juice which is always a winner in my books. For brunch, we both got the huevos rancheros and they did not disappoint! The tortilla and beans underneath the sunny side up eggs gave the dish a nice Mexican influence without being too overpowering. It was topped with arugula and salsa which gave it a nice fresh taste! Everything looked fantastic, I wish we would have had more time to stop back in and try some other items! It's a must visit if you are heading to la sagrada familia one morning! read more

After being curious about Granja for quite a while I finally made it through the door. The Halle smoothie was pleasing as it was made from fresh fruit. The plate I ordered was good (standard eggs with toast), however, it was served on an oversized plate, which made it seem that there should have been some garnish to compensate for all the empty space. On the downside, the service is exceptionally slow and highly inattentive. Be aware that if you pay this establishment a visit give yourself a generous time slot. Wish this place would get wifi and step up the service, the atmosphere is quaint and welcoming, and there's so much potential... but the service is a big letdown! Would have given this place 4 stars but the horrid service makes me knock off 2. read more

The juices are great and the food is very good. The only complaint I had is that they seem understaffed and the waiters/waitresses aren't always very kind. I go there every other day around 12-2:30pm (when it's the busiest) and it's sometimes very difficult to get a table. I've been passed up a couple of times for a native person who came in after I did. But otherwise, it is a cool café with an even cooler atmosphere. read more

Wonderful place for breakfast and brunch. Went there with kids because I see a lot of good reviews on their juices. We ordered a cup of Orange/carrot/lemon juice and a cup of apple/lemon juice for kids. I got a cup of cappuccino. Both juice are fresh squeezed and tastes yummy. The coffee is wonderful. We ordered scrambled egg with ham, pancakes with almonds, banana and chocolate sauce, and hummus dip with bread sticks. All of them are so yummy. This place is perfection. We walked in around 1:30p and it was about half-full. We were promptly shown a table by THE nicest server. There are cute corner nooks, a big communal table, and seats at the bar. It's airy and light and playing a fantastic 70s soul/funk playlist. We had been speaking enough broken Catalan that they didn't realize we were American -- until he caught us using google translate for the menu. Then he promptly brought us an English menu. I was in desperate need of caffeine so I ordered a cortado; reeeeally good espresso y'all. Boyfriend ordered a German beer that he really enjoyed. Boyfriend ordered nachos (what?) and they were surprisingly great. Then we split the quinoa salad and goat cheese sandwich. The sandwich was awesome (I have no idea what kind of bread it was on but it was so crusty and delicious) but THIS SALAD. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS SALAD. It was one of the best salads I've ever had. Lambs leaf lettuce, chopped fresh herbs (mint, basil, cilantro), oranges, golden raisins, chunks of feta, and quinoa, all with a citrusy vinaigrette. After the first bite I relegated the sandwich to my boyfriend so I could hog the salad, tirelessly singing its praises with every bite. It also came with bread but I didn't eat it because that would be a moment that I wasn't eating this salad. And the bill was a measly 23 euro for all that food. BONUS: my American credit card worked just fine. The juice menu looked amazing (and nearly everyone inside was drinking a juice. I fucked up. There was a line, but it moved quickly and was worth the wait. I had the scrambled eggs and homemade toast, and it was worth the extra money to add mushrooms and bacon. They added so much bacon! It was a wonderful breakfast! I highly recommend it. Oh, also get some of their fresh juice! It's v good and v healthy. read more

A very lovely location near Sagrada Familia. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good brunch or breakfast. If you ever have a tour or want a nice stroll through the streets of Barcelona near Sagrada Familia, definitely check this place out. A lovely view of the streets and the food is absolutely worth the visit. I highly recommend the egg dishes, specifically speaking of "The Turkish" and the selections of juices. I order the egg Benedict's and they were great, patatas a little to greasy for my taste but overall the plate was great.. Once finished I ordered my coffee and here was were the disappointment came! Went here for brunch yesterday based on Yelp reviews and can tell you it was our best breakfast we've had in 4 weeks of travelling throughout Europe. I had the eggs Benedict with spinach. Eggs were cooked perfectly and on a fresh muffin. My husband had the Rancheros which he throughly enjoyed and they had pancakes available which I haven't seen since we've been in Europe yet (so very typical Aussie brunch choices - we are from Perth).
