Essentially a one-woman operation, FEG is run by owner Jo. Her prices are very reasonable, but even better is her service. She is *fantastic* with animals, putting them at ease such that they will just stand there and let her groom them--unlike the local major Pet store, where the animals are leashed in place while they continually squirm and resist. I have had my dog get cut and bleed at a major store, but that has never happened with Jo. Is it any wonder we've been happy customers for years? If you love your pet, give Jo a try. Because she is a small operation, you may need to make an appointment well in advance--perhaps two months out, for example. Don't let that deter you. You and your pet will both be very glad you gave her a chance.

I have been taking my little yorkie to her for 2 years now and have been very happy UNTIL the past couple months. I have even referred many people to her over the past year and she has gained several clients from my referrals. I have never gotten a thank you. Today, I decided she will not be grooming my dog anymore. My dog struggled with ear infections this summer and it was the worst. Several rounds of medicine and several doctor visits. Jo had even talked to me about maybe changing his food because that had worked for her dog. So a couple months ago, I changed his food and it definitely was good advice for many other reasons. The problem is how her and her husband treat me. They are never friendly on the phone when I call to make an appointment. They act as though I'm truly bothering them and are in a hurry to get off the phone. I've always looked past it until today. Last time I took my dog was a couple months ago and Jo's husband checked my dog in. I told him about the ear infections and that he's doing better but to please put cotton in his ear during bath. When I went to pick my dog up, I asked Jo how he did with the cotton in his ears and she said "he did good but I didn't put cotton in his ears, but I always put alcohol in their ears". She told me her husband didn't tell her about me asking to put cotton in his ears. I told her the vet had told me not to put alcohol in his ears bc it can change the PH or something. He recommends against it. Little did I know that Jo took that VERY PERSONAL as though I was blaming her for something... She didn't say anything, she just said ok but I guess she's been stewing over it the past couple months because today, her and her husband verbally attacked me. Last week when i called to make my appointment she was kinda harsh and rude to me. I asked her several time "is this a bad time? I can call back." she said it was fine and just rushed to get off the phone with me. During this call, I told her that I was in no way blaming them for his ear infections at all and just asked if she would make sure to do cotton in his ears as extra precautions. When I hung up, I thought to myself that maybe she's just having a bad day and I decided not to take it personal. Well, today we had an appointment and when I gave them my little dog, Jo's husband started in on me out of no where about how they always put cotton in dogs ears and I'm the ONLY client who has ever complained of ear infections...he was talking defensively to me as though I had blamed them for his ear infections. Which I didn't.... then I said "woah, it seems like you are taking this personal but its not." Then Jo started in on me saying "I've been grooming for 30 years and no one has ever told me how to do my job before!" I felt attacked by these two and literally was uncomfortable to leave my dog with them for fear they might hurt him. Its really disappointing because I was so happy with her work but I didn't deserve to be treated that way for caring about my pet and his health. Jo and her husband obviously got defensive at me asking for cotton to be put in his ears as though I'm telling them how to do their job. I'll be looking for someone who can appreciate that I care about my pet and actually take initiative in his health.

Kelsey has been amazing with our two english springer spaniels. We couldn't do dog life without…read moreher. She has gone out of her way to make sure that our pups are well taken care of and to work with our schedules. She has also helped us to reform some of our dogs behaviors with her vast knowledge of dog training and behavior. She give us tools to work on while helping us understand why the dogs are doing what theyre doing. Her communication is great and I always know that the dogs are in great hands when they're with her.

Each of my pets present a unique and difficult situation for a dog handler, and Kelsey has been absolutely off the charts with her care, concern and training of both dogs. Luna is a senior border collie who is totally blind. Kelsey actually noticed some changes in Luna's behavior a few years ago which she brought to my attention. That's how I discovered Luna's sight issues. Upon confirmation of Luna's disability, I thought Luna might create a problem in her hiking group with Kelsey, so I asked Kels if Luna could still go with her hiking pack. Kelsey was absolute in her determination that Luna could still go and enjoy her walks without causing a problem. The results have been awesome! Kelsey has been amazing with her patience and her verbal cues she has taught Luna. My vet is in awe of how well Luna does in her life and how much confidence she has for a sight impaired dog. I give most of the credit to Kelsey and the trusting relationship she has created with Luna. People often don't believe that Luna is blind as she does so well off leash, with her pack and during her interactions with strangers. Kelsey's calming demeanor and genuine understanding of animals has helped my aging dog to have a tremendous life. These same great personality traits that Kelsey has, have worked wonders with my other dog that I share with my boyfriend Boris (the dogs name :). Boris is now about 8 yrs old and is a Poodle-Wheaton Terrier mix called a Whoodle....a smart, high energy, high strung breed with a mind of their own. Again, over the past few years, Kelsey has worked very hard with teaching Boris to listen, focus and pay attention. Kelsey cured him of his bad dominance habit of jumping onto the backs of other dogs. Now, when is called to come back, he is quick to respond and return. As playful and jumpy as Boris can be, Kelsey I able to gently get him to chill out and be sweet with small dogs and children. Kelsey has an innate way of getting dogs to settle down and be easy going. Boris has become a delight to be around, due to Kelsey's skills. All of these special traits that make Kelsey such a fabulous dog trainer, also flow over into her interactions with humans. I always enjoy chatting with Kelsey, as she exudes such a sweet, soothing aura that is so genuine and enjoyable. I believe Kelsey is a very bright woman with a positive attitude and the determination to take on any challenge and succeed. I would highly recommend you invite Kelsey to work with you. My little chihuahua, Theo, usually takes some time to warm up to people, but with Michelle, he warmed up to her in no time. He now looks forward to seeing her 3x a week and is always so excited to see her walk in the door! Michelle is also great with updates throughout her services. She will send pictures and let you know what happens on each service. She also gets to know your animal so well that when they are not feeling well, she will inform you (my dog was a little under the weather so she limited the walk and updated me as it was happening). We did a little bit of digging to see what other doodle owners prefer to take their pups. A neighbor of ours recommended Doggie Decadence so we gave them a try. When we walked in, everyone was so super friendly and a few other dogs were getting groomed so I could see what and how they groom. The facility was spacious and seemed to be clean. They told me the price before we started and how long it would take. Pretty fantastic, right? She also walked through the grooming with me and what I was wanting for our little guy. We picked him up within 15 mins of her estimated time, and I was so super pleased with the result! They did a fantastic job and my pup felt comfortable being there from what I could tell. I also loved the cologne they put on him. He smells sooooo good! They also have a pre-book system where you get $5 off your next visit. Pretty great! Can't wait to take him back
