They are so great. I love taking my dog there because I know he'll be in good hands, and they always do their best to cut his hair the way I want it. Their prices are very reasonable for a full trim, bath, nails, and everything else, plus I usually grab some treats. It was about $80 for my miniature schnauzer. Other places have charged me anywhere from $100 to $150 without question, and places cheaper than DNW have done some pretty poor work on him. Ever had something go a little bit sideways? That's when a business truly shows who they are and what they stand for. Our pup was wounded during a trim, some skin snagged with the shears, and though it was superficial, she started bleeding a good bit. They cared for her like she was their own. We were informed about it immediately, the bleeding treated, and she was dressed with some ointment to help stave off infection. The owner told me to call them if she ended up having any more bleeding, needed any veterinary care, or it otherwise became infected. If you have ever tried grooming a dog with clippers, you can understand how easy it might be to accidentally clip something you shouldn't. However, they still held themselves accountable and wanted to take care of us all. We've been back twice since then for grooming. Now I say this -- 10 years we've seen them for haircuts, and only the one minor incident. They are confident experts and guarantee their work. read more

Our family has been using Dawgs N Whiskers for 5 years now, after a recommendation from our vet's office. The groomers at Dawgs N Whiskers always do an amazing job, despite having to deal with our two Australian Shepherds who tend to be skittish around strangers and other dogs. Our pups are not easy to groom, as they have a lot of undercoat that has to be brushed out and multiple areas that have to be trimmed. Even so, the groomers at Dawgs N Whiskers get it right every time. The girls come back looking (and smelling) like a million bucks, with silky soft fur. We've been loyal customers at Dawgs N Whiskers for nearly a decade, bringing our toy Yorkie in regularly and always leaving happy. That makes our most recent visit all the more heartbreaking. The groom was shockingly bad -- uncut lines, an uneven coat, and patches of random lengths all over. There's no polite way to put it: it looked like a child cut his hair. For a Yorkie, where coat precision is everything, this level of work is simply inexcusable. To make matters worse, this was his spring cut. That means we can't just go somewhere else and fix it -- we have to wait for it to grow out. In the meantime, we had a family gathering where we brought him along, as we always do, and it was genuinely embarrassing. Our dog looked neglected, which couldn't be further from the truth. We paid over $100 with tip for results I honestly believe I could have matched with zero experience. After ten years of trust, we won't be coming back. I hope whatever has changed there gets addressed -- for the sake of the other pets and the longtime clients who deserve better. read more

Highly recommend! Took my St. Bernard here and he had some matting because he loves the water so much that we couldn't keep up on. And they were able to remove all mats and blend in his fur so well he looks amazing!! His paw was also bothering him recently and they took great consideration of him being uncomfortable. So plenty of breaks to rest in between. They handled everything with great care of very professional. We will definitely be going back and want everyone to have the great experience we did. read more

Used to be my only spot to take my dogs too and I used to love it. Got a groom on my little yorkie just last week and the groomer completely messed it up. I sent her a picture and explained what I wanted and 4 hours later I got him back and she completely shaved everything on him, his early legs-everything is the shortest I believe you can possibly do with a razor. Now he's freezing in the winter and looks terrible too. Staff was completely different than I remember as well and I was not impressed with customer service by them. We recently brought our cat in for a bath and the groomer cut nearly every nail WAYYY too short!!! (See attached photos) When we came to pick her up, our poor girl was bleeding from every paw and clearly distressed in the kennel. When showing the groomer she offered me blood clotting powder, but my baby was too distressed to let her do it. She offered to pack it up and upon further inspection at home I realized how horrible it was. We took her to the vet shortly afterwards where we counted TEN nails cut too short. She was given some painkillers and anti inflammatory medication w/ a cone. I get that mistakes happen, but I struggle to understand how nearly every nail was butchered this badly. I would highly advise against having your animals nails trimmed here. My baby is traumatized read more

After being told that my girls were too dangerous to be groomed at a big chain pet store (no details, just that it was unsafe to groom them). I called to see about getting my girls in here. After talking with the groomer we decide to book an appointment. The groomer has experience with big, fluffy, shy dogs. I drop off my dogs and everything goes great. At pick up I ask how things went and the groomer cannot believe that anyone would call my girls too dangerous to groom. We have been going back ever since. Do my girls love it there? NO! But they also don't like it when I brush them and give them baths at home. I know they can be stubborn and difficult at times. read more

First let me say that I think Dawgs and Whiskers did a fantastic job of grooming both my Lhasa and mini poodle. They were super careful with my Lhasa's dewclaws too (not an easy task when their hair is long). The staff is warm and courteous and I like that the dogs weren't kenneled to dry off. I'm a typical over-protective dog mom and searched for months to find a good groomer for my dogs. We used to go to the Utah School of Pet Grooming but the last time they did such an awful job on my Lhasa's coat and only took them almost at closing time (even though I'd taken them as it opened for their appointments.) So I was looking for a new groomer and after calls to dozens of places I settled on Dawgs and Whiskers, both because of the great reviews and because of their decent pricing. So why the 4 stars? Because they accidentally cut my dog's ear and couldn't stop the bleeding. They handled this entire fiasco SO well and the only thing I wish they'd done differently is to have called me as it happened. However, when I went to pick them up, the owner took full responsibility, apprised me of the situation and told me they would cover all vet bills. She also refunded me the Lhasa's haircut. I rushed him to the vet and as promised the owner covered the bill. The vet didn't have to stitch up the wound as a clot had finally formed but they warned me that if it broke I was to bring him in immediately for stitches. The owner of Dawgs and Whiskers was so kind and told me they'd cover any other vet bills pertaining to his ear. Thankfully, after 2 weeks of antibiotics and pain meds, he was fine. The owner even texted me a day or two later to check up on him! In a day and age where people shirk responsibility and pass blame I am so impressed at how this was handled. I love supporting small businesses and we will definitely be returning to Dawgs and Whiskers for future grooming appointments. read more

My puppy is 6 months old and can't stand getting his nails trimmed. In fact, last time I took him somewhere, I had to pay for anesthesia. However, he went here, no problem! The employees were very kind and considerate of his attention span. This is my favorite place to get pet supplies. The two owners are the sweetest ladies- they always greet you and are so very friendly. They always carry my dog food out to my car, even when I tell them I can do it myself! I originally came here because they were the only shop in the area that sold a particular dog food that I was looking for, but I've since tried several other foods, and keep coming back because they have a great selection. They offer tons of dog supplies (dry food, wet food, raw food, toys, treats, shampoo, vitamins, leashes, harnesses, etc), as well as a smaller selection of cat supplies, and some reptiles in the very back of the store. They also offer grooming, and I've never used that service, but most times I have been in one of their grooming customers has been there and they seem very satisfied. Their prices are also totally reasonable, and regarding the food, pound for pound it is often less than the poor quality foods sold at a traditional pet store. They also offer a rewards program. I believe it is $5 off every $100 you spend, which adds up pretty quickly when you have a great dane! :) If you are looking for a natural pet store this is the place to go! read more

I was happy with this place the first time, as you can see in my previous review. The second time was pretty upsetting. I called in for scheduling instead of booking online, and i was given a different groomer than my first time. I took my dog in for the bath and tidy service. i asked for her paws, ears, chin, and sanitary area to be cut short. my dog came back super scared, whining, they had a blanket over the kennel and she didnt like that so she was crying when i came to pick her up. Everything i asked for to be cut were cut, but they also trimmed on top of her nose when i didnt mention the nose to be cut. Ever since then she has two EXTREMELY uneven "money piece" on her nose and i hate it SO much. You can see the empty area in the picture, and i cannot stress enough how UNEVEN the amount of black hair thats left are. You can see the "bald" areas where she cut the black hair off, and the two pieces left are visibly uneven (pic with red bandana was taken on the same day as the second appointment- it's blurry but you can see the uneven amount of nose hair) I shouldve left a review then, but i just thought it was bc i had a different groomer and since i didnt specifically say to NOT touch her nose, i didnt want to make it a big deal. I went for the third time few days ago (bc id rather support local shops than big box companies) and since this was a different groomer than second time i thought it would be better. However, this time i asked for her whiskers to not be cut, bc she did that the first time and i didnt like it, so i made sure to mention it. Overall was way better than the second time, but the whiskers (except for few around her nose) were cut super short. Really disappointed, bc i really like supporting local shops, small businesses, but my needs for my dog are not being met. Their prices are great and so are their timing but it's just not working for me. read more

My sister recommended this place to my husband and I since we are new dog owners. But I have to say we are very disappointed with the grooming of our mini golden doodle. My husband and I both specified multiple times that we did not want them to buzz or cut his hair at all except to TRIM around his eyes to see and also trim around his potty areas. We even specified if any part of him was matted to where they would normally cut it, to call us right away and we would pick him up with no further grooming. We did not receive any calls telling us he was matted. When we went to pick him up they assured us that they did not cut his hair and he was not matted at all just a shampoo and clippers of the nails and trimmed around eyes and potty areas was done. They didn't even charge us for a buzz or hair cut to make it seem like they did as promised. Take a look at the before and after photos...does that look like a little trim to you? His nose is completely buzzed. He doesn't even look like himself. Granted he is still adorable, because he's our fur baby, but he looks like a girl poodle. When we took him into another dog groomer place to get their opinion, they laughed a little saying that Dawgs N Whiskers didn't use scissors to trim around his eyes like they should have but you can tell they buzzed and did a heart shape on his face which "isn't the cut to give golden doodles at all." Hopefully his hair will grow back to himself. We unfortunately will not return to this place. (Before picture is 2 hours before grooming, the after picture is 30 minutes after.) As you can see with the before pic, there are hairs coming into his sight line that could have used trimming with small scissors, they did not need to shave the whole top of his nose and around his eyes! It's a great store with good customer service, very nice and accommodating at the store, and the lady at the front desk is so nice! But the groomer, Tiger Lily, did not listen to what we needed and wanted! If something was done by mistake we wish they would have been upfront and honest about it instead of playing it off like we don't know a buzz cut when we see one. read more
