DJ Tom Delisa was the absolute best and we are so thankful for his lead as the Master of the Ceremony, following the schedule and keeping everything on track, working with the other vendors so effortlessly. Upon the first time chatting with Tom over the phone, it was evident the amazing person and incredibly talented individual that he is. So passionate about what he does and cares that both the couple and guests have a blast. He made a great mix out of songs that we'd asked during our phone call to incorporate. The transitions from song to song were smooth and natural. Tom knew exactly how long to let each special dance go. (I once saw Calvin Harris at Jingle Ball in Tampa years ago and Tom reminded me of him, again Tom is SO incredible at what he does!!) Tom played our ceremony music in the chapel and had the reception speakers ready to go for when everyone moved - the lighting was beautiful, and it was lovely to switch colors for dinner and dancing. When we started researching DJs in Tampa for our wedding, it became clear pretty quickly that Grant Hemond was the way to go. They've been in business for decades and have thousands of 5-star reviews on Google, The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc. -- and with good reason! Music was incredibly important to me, so I was convinced I was going to be that annoying bride, but they were absolutely fantastic to work with for our wedding. After reading through pages and pages of reviews, I noticed the same names of DJs keep popping up, so even though they say your DJ isn't assigned until the week before your event, I asked if I could request a particular person. They said we absolutely could request specific DJs, so I gave four names. Two were already spoken for (a year out!), but Jaime wrote into our contract that we were guaranteed to have one of the other two assigned to our wedding. We booked them to play music for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and to provide uplighting for the reception as well. Over the next year, my husband and I compiled playlists of music we wanted to have played during cocktail hour or dinner (in other words, songs that we really liked but that you couldn't really dance to), songs we wanted for the reception, as well as a "do not play" list. A little over a week before our wedding, Craig Hemond reached out to us, introducing himself as our DJ. He sent over a questionnaire and set up a time for us to talk on the phone. I sent back the questionnaire along with our spreadsheets (yes, plural) of playlists, and we proceeded to have a two-hour (!) chat on the phone about how the music would go for the ceremony, cocktail hour, wedding party intros and reception. He was incredibly thorough and just the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. Craig totally understood what I wanted for my reception -- I told him I needed this to be a throwback to the late 90s/early 2000s. He knew how to get people on that dance floor, and everyone had such a fun time! And he made our reception look amazing as well with the uplighting, which we asked to be a dark teal color. He also had the ability to change the colors throughout the night, and to have them change along with the beat of the music. For financial reasons, we were on the fence about hiring a DJ and were planning to create our own Spotify playlist. A little over a month before the wedding, we decided hiring a DJ would be much less stressful than handling the music ourselves - and it was so worth it! We were honest about our budget when we reached out, and they were able to work with us without a problem. We were assigned to Jody as our DJ - he was great! We didn't do any first dances and didn't want any big announcements, and he did a great job of sharing pertinent information without interrupting the flow of the night. First of all, they are very reasonable with their prices and were willing to work with me to create the reception of my dreams. I liked that the company matches you with a DJ based on your needs. Onto the DJ, Gary Craddick. He highly exceeded our expectations. My husband and I are extremely laid back and just wanted a "fun" reception. It was definitely fun. Ben was our DJ for our wedding that took place at the Sandbar on Anna Maria Island. He was amazing! His personality is large, full of smiles and kindness. Just got married on July 1 and I had Ben Daniele as my DJ. Can you say amazing?! I was worried about the right music since my husbands side is Puerto rican and I am American so didn't know how he was going to do the music but I had nothing to worry about. I told him how I wanted my party to go and he was just great. People are still raving about how good my DJ was. He engaged with my guests and got everyone up and dancing, some people were dancing that NEVER ever dances so this was awesome. I provided glow sticks and I handed them to him and didn't have to worry about anything after that. He knew the exact way and time to distribute them. He was so nice and came right on time. He also made sure I was okay with all the music people were requesting throughout the night. Which I was perfectly fine with! Our experience with Grant Hemond and Associates was first class all the way, and we were EXTREMELY happy with the work of DJ Adam Hensleigh! Adam was a true professional throughout the process- and he took great care to make sure every detail was exactly right. Everyone who attended the wedding LOVED Adam's music! He knew how to get our guests excited and on the dance floor, and the way he mixed and mashed songs was phenomenal. Adam took care of every special request we asked him for, and his choice of music for every part of the night was spot on. Adam also did an excellent job as our emcee for the evening. We went with Grant Hemond for DJ services for our wedding in June 2018 and were assigned Ben Daniele. We could not have been happier with his services! He contacted us prior to the wedding with a worksheet to fill out to give him some details about our needs and expectations and checked in with us again the week of the wedding to make sure we didn't need anything else. He was extremely accommodating prior to the event, but not intrusive as he seemed mindful that we had a ton of things to worry about that week. On the day of our wedding, Ben was perfect. He played everything we asked of him and rolled with the punches as we made some alterations to the order of some of the 'events' (garter toss, anniversary dance, etc.). He always put requests from the bridal party at the top of the list and had our event had the exact right feel throughout - at one point my wife thought he was reading our mind. Louis from Grant Hemond was the perfect DJ for us. Leading up to the wedding we were really nervous as most people are about little details, especially the music for some reason. But from the moment we talked to Louis on the phone we felt a weight lifted off of our shoulders. Louis made us feel comfortable and put us at ease. We knew everything would be great and it was. Pricing was very reasonable, front office staff was always very responsive, and our assigned DJ contacted us right on schedule (even though he was traveling abroad). Our DJ was Eric Harding and he was phenomenal. We weren't too picky with what was played as long as it was high energy. He kept the party going, checked with us frequently throughout the night to make sure we were happy with the music and even gave us time checks. As one of our guests stated "this wedding was epic!" He also provided the lighting and it was perfect. If all of their DJ's are like Eric, I can confidently recommend Grant Hemond without reservations. read more

This was right down the middle of the road for me. The front office was prompt, helpful, attentive, flexible and professional. Our DJ seemed the same until the day of, but I expected this turn from reviews on The Knot. Because of those reviews, I painstakingly spent a year putting together a pre-ceremony playlist, a ceremony playlist, cocktail hour, first dances, dinner hour and beyond... I didn't hear at least 20 of the songs I requested, and I had the playlists timed pretty well. I put in special requests for must-plays and didn't hear those. I didn't hear songs that were rare and special to us. I know the mics went during the ceremony -- during my husband's vows that he had written... I had my MOH request a Britney song because the DJ insisted on 2.5 straight hours off the slow oldies portion of our playlist, and he picked a Britney song out of the air -- not off our playlist. We were bored, and we told him not to play oldies all up front because we knew we would be. If I wasn't so busy hauling my heavy dress around, I would have monitored him myself, but it was my wedding and I didn't want to spend it telling people what to do -- I was tired of doing that. I hired him, so I trusted him. I am still pretty bummed. On the flipside, he totally led the opening of the reception and got Jews and non-Jews alike up to do the Hora as we requested. We were a pretty unwieldy group, but he was versatile and responded to the crowd with this one. I was pretty impressed. He did save our last two dance requests for the end -- he totally remembered talking to us about that. And that was awesome. It sealed the night perfectly for me, so he ended on a high note. His equipment was good too, save the clip-on mic that died in the ceremony. That's important when you're picking a DJ -- good volume, crisp and clear sound, no feedback and bass control. All in all, music was the most important part of our day and I still have regrets about waiting until the last hour or hour-and-a-half to really get the party started. I know this is a popular DJ company and they can't get them all right, but these are common complaints about this DJ and it's worth it to see if they can be addressed. read more

Our DJ was Cory. He was absolutely amazing. We are a gay couple and wanted to work with vendors who were comfortable with working with gay weddings. Grant Hemond and our DJ Cory both assured us they were comfortable. We talked with Cory about ways to make our wedding really nice. We added premium uplighting that changed color after dinner but stayed one color throughout dinner. We also upgraded the photobooth to the plexiglass photobooth that went really well with our setting. The hotels prices on projector/screen were extremely high...Cory was able to provide one for MUCH less! We had an initial phone consultation and then spoke the week before our wedding. We had some different music ideas for different parts of the ceremony like the cake cutting and the introductions and he helped tailor it to EXACTLY what we wanted. He checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we knew what was coming up next and even made sure the people toasting had drinks before he transitioned into that part. When it came to the parent dances, he got with our parents beforehand to let them know it was coming up. At the end, we had all the guests exit the ballroom and we had our last dance alone to take in the night. He was absolutely amazing. We were just married and used Grand Hemond and Associates DJ services. To start, Michelle was very professional and a pleasure to work with. Jason was our DJ and I can't say enough great things about him!! He was there for us from the first time we spoke. He assured us that he was at our beckon call. He played two "walking" songs at the ceremony, and both were right on queue. Many guest commented on the quality of the sound during the ceremony. Stating that they have been to many beach weddings and all they could hear was the wind blowing, except, our wedding. The sound quality was perfect. We worked together on songs; he had a lot of good suggestions and really got to know what WE liked. He got everyone up dancing, which is a major thing at a wedding. So many people asked who the DJ was, and commented how great he was. He worked very well with our other vendors, everything went so smooth.
