I've let this smolder for about a week but still can't let it go. I needed a car and ended up stopping at almost every lot up and down Fowler looking for "the one," this is the ONLY lot that left a bad taste in my mouth. I was very honest with what I was looking for (under $4k, tall ask in today's market, I know), and this is the only lot that push push pushed me to finance. The man that "helped" me pulled out all the stops "I wouldn't let my daughters drive a 4 thousand dollar car," "Oh, you want to pay cash? Your father can't help you? Nobody else to get on a loan?" Wow. My father? A young woman (30+ thank you very much) can't go to a car lot to buy a car without her DADDY helping her? NEWS FLASH! I have WAY more money than he does, and he could be dead for all you know, dude. Sometimes people want to pay CASH and own a car instead of being tied to people like you. "My managers don't quite like it when im trying to help a customer out and make a great deal." (Above is response I received from my sales person via text after I submitted an offer on a vehicle that Grant Motors had in stock) If you are looking for a dealership that helps customers out or makes great deals then it appears you have come to the wrong place! I submitted a well thought out offer to my sales person only to hear about that the average retail price of the car they are selling exceeds their "book value" asking price. That my sales person's "hands were tied" and that "his managers don't quite like it when [he] is trying to help a customer out and make a great deal" and that "[he] can't keep getting yelled at for trying to get a deal done." When I showed the sales person that their vehicle Was advertised on a different website for less then their counter offer and book value asking price I was told (in part) quote "Idk what picture you just sent me, I don't really understand it tbh but I'm sure its beyond my pay grade" So this place apparently makes no great deals, the managers don't like it when the sales people help the customer out, the managers yell at the sales people for trying to get a deal done, and a screenshot of the vehicle advertised on the internet at a lower price is above the sales persons pay grade. Contacted them online. Jack B. called me right away and asked me to apply for credit/financing. I asked if this was a soft or hard credit inquiry, and he answered it as a soft credit check. LIAR. I got TWO hard credit checks in my credit. Then he not only told me that I should buy something from him so my credit would not be affected negatively, but also that the car that was supposedly available was not available anymore. BUYER BEWARE! STAY AWAY WHILE YOU CAN! DISHONEST AND GREEDY AND JUNK INVENTORY! PLEASE READ MY STORY! The Vehicle I purchased was advertised in 'excellent like new' condition - which it was NOT! Over the past couple weeks of ownership I have spent almost $2,000 in repairs, and still finding several little things that are wrong and will eventually go wrong; such as needing new brakes all around, rear tires and shocks, a electronic issue, a new Module ($700), and in fact the Very Next Day after I bought the car I couldn't start it and it turned out to be the Starter/Alternator costing me $700 which of course the Dealer wouldn't honor. Moreover, Grant Motors never contacted me to inform me that my Plates had arrived as I had to find out for myself and make several calls in again to reach them as one that was placed on the Vehicle was only a temporary one that had a 30-day expiration date which because of their lack of contacting the Vehicle was being driving without my knowledge of expiration by a couple of weeks. Upon my test drive and for the initial time frame of ownership I heard a tick/tap noise coming from the front right wheel, which the salesman claimed to be the plastic in the wheel rim' being a little loose - turns out the very next day after I bought the car I noticed the tire going flat, I assumed it was just a little low but unfortunately it kept happening every couple of days it would go nearly flat. So I took it to a repair shop and they discovered the problem - there was a screw stuck in the tire. It was in such a location that the tire could not be repaired meaning that it had to be replaced, that said if you replace one you need to replace both - therefore costing me another $300. Another Safety concern is that after closer inspection All 4 wheels were missing one Lug Nut each as for higher-end cars the Fifth lug-nut is a locking one so it makes it harder to steal the wheels - naturally I had to replace them costing me another $50 and aggravation - but am emotionally upset as I believe my life and possibly others was in danger due to the unsafe nature of Not having all the Lug Nuts securely fastened. I am filling a Claim with the FL Department of Motor Vehicles Bureau of Field Operations. They will do an Investigation to verify their Legalities, and any fraudulent practices, as well as unsafe issues. NOTE: they will Not be able to assist for the Vehicle that was purchased that have mechanical problems especially if a "As Is" doc was signed. They can be reached at 9414174551. Purchased a Passat from the Fowler location before I picked it up told them the air conditioning was not working correctly along with a few other issues, I picked the car up nothing was fixed. Drove straight back,told them again to fix it. Picked car up next day, air worked ok. Came to find out the extras on the car ie: bluetooth,digital Mph were not equipped in the car!! It was the reason I purchased the car in the first place. Not helpful met me at the gate to give me the keys to my car,couldn't get rid of me fast enough. LIARS! I test drove a Baja that had undergone a 120 point inspection. Took it to a mechanic and he said it had a frozen brake caliper, the left motor mount was weak from being saturated from the ongoing oil leak, plus it needed 2 trailing arm bushings & something was wrong with the steering gear. I have been trying to get MY money back for ONE test drive (going on 5 months now) I had concerns about the vehicle so they said they would have a mechanic look at it. Prior to my next test drive I canceled the appointment. I was assured my money would "not be held hostage" They wanted $500 to take the next test drive (hold the car) but I could only afford $200.00. I called the associate that I took the original test drive with and he no longer works for the company. I have called, emailed and made two visits to this establishment to try and get my money back. I had originally gave Grant motors on Fowler in Ft Myers a 5 star review for a vehicle I purchased from them. The sales process was great. Unfortunately after only having the vehicle for 1 week the transmission went out. I tried multiple times to get information from a manager on resolving this. I was forwarded to his voice mail which was full multiple times. After several failed attempts I took it to a local shop. The shop determined that the transmission needed rebuilding. I contracted the shop to do the rebuild which came to $2200.00 While it was being rebuilt I finally was able to speak with the manager of the location I bought it from. He advised that he would have to speak with the general manager and get back with me later that afternoon. He never returned the call so I called him the next morning to get the same answer from him. Now going on the 3rd day I still had not heard from him so I called back and he acted surprised that I had not heard from the GM. He said he would address it and call back. It never received a call so I called and happened to get the GM. He told me that they would not cover any of the cost because it was taken to an outside shop. The only reason it was taken to an outside shop is I could not wait around any longer for return calls that never happen. I asked for a partial reimbursement and was denied such. My advice is if you plan on buying from Grant motors take the vehicle to your own mechanic first before buying. They will treat you like royalty to get the sale but once it's done if you have a problem they wash their hands of you. read more

I had a wonderful experience. The owner, Scott went out of his way to make sure I was happy with my purchase and followed up with me directly a few weeks later to make sure I was satisfied. This is a great place to go if you have credit problems. They were able to put me in a vehicle with a low payment and interest rate. I lost my job and the recession did a number to my credit. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GRANT MOTORS!!!!!! They are total rip offs. After having the vehicle and driving it, I noticed it was using a lot of coolant. I informed Charlie at Grant Motors that the vehicle was using coolant (about 3 gallons in 3 weeks) before their "30 day warranty". Charlie told me to drop it off and their mechanic would look at it. They kept it for 2 days and called and told me to come pick it up that they couldn't find a coolant leak. I informed Charlie from the beginning it was not leaking coolant but using coolant. By this time, the 30 day warranty had expired which means now my with them has expired. I had to take the vehicle to a mechanic and the cylinder head gaskets were leaking! Since they would no longer help, I had to pay for the repair. And my sunroof is leaking in several spots making the vehicle smell moldy and horrible. I now have to spend more money to have that fixed, which will not be cheap. DO NOT believe this Charlie character. He makes you think he cares and is doing you a favor, but after you buy the vehicle he forgets all about you. Does not answer or return your phone calls. The only thing this company is guaranteed to do is to lie to you and put you in a problematic vehicle and they do not even care. That's guaranteed! Please, anyone reading this, do not go to Grants Motors. If you can get financed through these rip offs, you can get financed anywhere. Go to a reputable place, unlike my decision.
