While ordering, I asked for a panini but just with cheese (for someone else), and she corrected me for a grilled cheese. Two separate things. There is an obvious difference between the two. She could have said "no we cant do that" but no, she denied me that and made me feel like an idiot all in the same sentence . The food was so mid, the lack of cheese in this panini was a fatal mistake. The meat inside was alright, but the weird thing was that it was extremely crispy, in a bad way. The cheese was barely melted and it was warm at most, no, room temp. All in all, it was a squished sandwich. The drinks were pretty good but I've had better. The creamsicle? Great no notes. The italian cream soda? Watery, not creamy, and in lack of flavour. Sure you could ask for more syrup but still, meh. And on top of all of that, they didn't even give me napkins. read more

First time visit here travell through Quenel. Busy place for a Monday morning. Great outdoor dining area, lots of spaces inside fir seating also. Had the Montreal Smoked meat with hot Dijon and Soanish Omelet with fashions. Both were delicious. Perfect place for a breakfast or brunch stop with lots of choices and friendly service. read more

Once again Yelp steered us in the right direction. We were making pretty good time on our trek to Alaska, but needed a break and a good meal. Granville's was the ticket. Having never heard of a German mocha, I tried it and have to admit it was a nice treat. It goes well with their home-built cheesecake. I also give high marks on the chili con carne and the Caesar salad. Not to mention the fish and chips which is beer battered and never overcooked. Ted (maybe the owner?) says that's the secret. It also comes with a decent coleslaw and hometoast. Something worth mentioning, they "peel the apples and roll the pastry" to create their Dutch apple pie. Upon hearing this we had to at least split a piece. Wow! The people here are a bit different, but likable. The shoppe runs like a top. There's an energized little bunny named Mary that cruises around keeping the store in order! It's the kind of place you'd like to re-visit over and over. Crazy small world. The lines are long and slow moving. Customers stand in line for 5 minutes and then have no clue what they want to order. Skill testing questions are asked like: how do you want your eggs? Do you want coffee? The same people act surprised when they are given their total to pay. Lots of screaming children on the weekends. Great place to loiter, 20 minutes for eggs and toast. Edit: months later its still 20 minutes for eggs, toast and coffee. Ask me how I can tell when the boss is away on holidays. More pics available. This morning was 32 minutes from the time I stood in line until my eggs and toast arrived. I returned it to the sever and explained I don't have time to eat it. While on a Northern BC road trip, I saw a couple of billboard advertisements for this place. After reading a couple of other reviews, I decided to stop and give it a try. From the old memorabilia, to the modern decor, this place hits a 5 out of 5. It is everything a "mom n pop" shop is. Locals greeted by first name and out of towners, or passerbys, treated no differently and with a smile. Prices are great, food was delicious, and coffee was very tasty. Highly recommend pulling over and trying this place out. read more

Busy place on a Saturday AM. No ability to socially distance inside but thankfully some outdoor seating was available. Very good coffees (Americans, cappuccino), eggs black stone were fresh, but the hollandaise was so-so. The butter pecan tart (advertised as world's best) might just have been that. I really like this place. It's a hip coffee place that offers many options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a nice decor with antique gas pumps, neon signs, an antique bicycle and tile decorated tables. I've been working in quesnel for the past week and have stopped here many times for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, I've had their breakfast English muffin (cheese, ham, egg, muffin) which is nothing special but it does the job. For lunch, I've had a roast beef sandwiche (made with homemade bread with a pickle on the side) and a reubin panini. Both were very good. This place also offers smoothies, baked goods, cheesecake, lasagne among other things. The vibe here is very family oriented and laid back and the place seems to always be busy especially during lunch and breakfast. It is a good change from my usual experience at corporate Starbucks or Timmy Service is a bit slow so don't come here if you're in a hurry. I'd recommend checking this place out if you are ever in town. I'm sure there will be something here for you. read more

Middle of nowhere there's a small town, Quesnel. And in it, there's a coffee shop with a character. I got the Apple Pie with Americano. Apple pie kind of sucked but the Americano wasn't bad. Service was super friendly. And everything else on the menu looked pretty bomb. If I lived near by, I'd go often. Also it was 2.25 for an Americano. Super cheap. read more

Little lost vegan in small town British Columbia. This place has been here since I was a kid. I appreciate it so much more now as an adult because they make really great oatmeal and coffee! Ok I am local and 9 times out of 10 I come here the one young girl is sick. She is constantly coughing everywhere and when she handles the packaging, the plates or even the credit card machine it is disgusting. Washrooms are always clean. My kids love going there as the staff always talk to them and ask what they want! This is huge in my books! Amazing! Fantastic coffee! Gorgeous little spot full of character. My grandparents lived in Quesnel for almost 50 years, and when we came back to have my grandmas memorial after she passed, Granville's provided coffee, tea and baked goods all for no charge. We were in town for a wedding and decided to search for a breakfast location, we were happy to find this warm and welcoming Coffee house. We got more than we bargained for with a full hot breakfast which was fantastic!!! Fresh home made bread put a smile on my face. We left on our way to the wedding and days later I realized I forgot one on of my favorite scarfs at the table. I called and spoke with the staff who assured me they found my scarf and asked for my contact details to mail it to me. They refused to let me pay for shipping and instead Thanked me for coming in for breakfast. Customer service was AMAZING!!, which is very hard to find these day.
