Save your money. JT is a rude, condescending and has poor communication skills. After a day of very marginal fishing, he had the audacity to ask for a gratuity. Boat is tiny, uncomfortable and you can't access your things. He's inpatient, along with being cheap on bait and tackle. We missed the bite, for the sport fish, as he stated. Maybe if you had the rods ready b4 we left we could have dropped in sooner. Never once felt like he cared if we catch fish or enjoyed ourselves. read more

We went out December 19th and Captain JT was awesome. He put us on a great array of fish of the best quality I have ever caught. I highly recommend booking a trip. Only having my good friends on the boat and not having to fight crossing lines was the best fishing experience. I was able to catch a great sized Sand Dab and can't wait to cook it up. We had a great time! John was a great instructor and had us midwestern novices reeling the fish in in no time. We caught lingcod, red snapper, mackerel, sanddab, and boccaccio. He provided tackle, live bait, and all the instructions and equipment we needed. He even cleaned the fish for us. We did a full day trip with captain JT. Between the 4 of us we caught about 10 fish of varied species. JT seemed very knowledgeable about the area and fishing but was extremely stand-offish. I tried several times to start conversations with him and he was condescending and just really rude. He kept complaining about us doing things wrong but didn't offer great feedback on how to improve. We had two kids(10&12) and two adults with minimal fishing experience. JT was noticeably frustrated for most of the trip and really not friendly at all. Made for a very uncomfortable trip. He advertises as beginner friendly but that was not my experience. Catching 10 fish would have been a great trip if the captain was positive and fun but unfortunately JT was neither of those. read more

JT was a great fishing guide. He knew all the good spots and taught us new techniques. We fished with live bait and caught Halibut, a Bat Ray, Baracuda, and Calico Bass. We caught Whitefish, Rockfish, and Calico Bass while rock fishing. JT was patient with myself and three boys. It was a lot of fun! I also felt safe riding in his boat, even when the waves got pretty big in the channel. He knows what he is doing and is an experienced captain. I would go again.
