Legacy had a sale at a neighboring house and they lacked complete consideration. The most egregious issue is that neighbors were not notified of this event in advance. This was an incredibly inconsiderate given it was both Valentine's Day and a holiday weekend. While I understand the goal of a successful sale, the high volume of attendees--estimated at 800-900 people--created a level of disruption that was unmanageable for our neighborhood. Because our streets do not have sidewalks, the lack of traffic control and oversight created a genuine safety hazard for residents and pedestrians! The following concerns were particularly problematic: Traffic & Parking: Without a designated parking plan or staff to direct cars, congestion from speeding vehicles and illegal turns made it difficult for residents to navigate their own neighborhood safely. As a matter of fact, our neighbors had planned to have a party; because their street was overtaken with shoppers' cars, they had to postpone! Property Disturbance: Attendees left trash in neighboring yards, parked in front of fire hydrants and unabashedly approached neighboring properties. Due to a lack of clear signage, people approached our front door and walked brazenly up our driveway both during the day and late into the evening (after 6p). Inadequate Staffing: The single 'security guard' on-site was insufficient for the crowd size. There was no clear communication to buyers regarding neighborhood etiquette or respect for private property. In the future, I ask that Legacy do better and provide advanced notice to the immediate neighbors and hire additional staff to manage parking and crowd control. A more proactive approach would ensure the safety of the community while still allowing your clients to have a successful event.

I didn't get to use her expertise as our estate sales agent, but she gave us some great valuable information on putting on our own estate sales. I used the estate sales links she suggested and they brought in people from great distances. Our signage brought a great crowd too. BUT!!! I highly recommend --- DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!!!! I was pressed to remove the contents of my mother's home much sooner than a professional sales would complete a sale. Yet, I will never let this time pressure control the issue again! Penny's expertise expands all levels! She advertises. Completes signage. Provides adequate pricing. And knows about crowd management, which we came short handed at one point. She's knowledgable in antiques, vintage, jewelry, and coin. Through this personal experience, trying to dispose of my mother's estate, I confirmed Penny's estimates (which seemed low) on what to sell my mother's very high quality items, and yet I still didn't get that value. So, don't be disappointed that your loved ones antiques and such don't sell at your high expectations. People just aren't buying it!!! Penny also passed my impression as a good honest person. Who else would help out in so many ways? Hiring an estate sales person is worth the cost all the way!! So why not hire someone like Penny and Pig Estate Sales? HIRE PENNY!!!

I've been going to Succor Estate Sales sales for years now, and they are definitely the best! The…read morequality of the items available always depends on the home, but Melissa, Stacy and their team always seem to choose houses full of treasures -- from art to furniture and, my personal favorite, books! Melissa, the owner, is a joy to talk to and always brings such a light to the experience. She keeps the sales highly-organized so that you can enjoy yourself versus having to scramble or fight with people over items. Big purses are not allowed in the sale, but the kind people who work there will hold onto your bag for you. Otherwise, leave it in the car. :) These are not NOT garage sales, but prices are always very fair (and hot tip -- *sometimes* they go down over the course of the sale!). I've looked up many of the items I've purchased and found that Succor's prices were lower than compatibles on a site like EBay and way less than a speciality shop. Also, if you are looking to have a sale, you can trust Succor with your home. When you ask for a price they may tell you is something it isn't so they can up their prices (know what you are selling as the seller and protect yourself as a buyer). I overheard him talking to another customer when they asked the price of an item and he said $20. The person said "oh wow ok I won't get it." He replied, "Well we have to start somewhere." He has used this line on me before as well. When the person said they have attended other estate sales and the item they were looking to purchase is usually around $5, he replied that they are one of the cheapest companies out there. NOT TRUE AT ALL! They are one of the most EXPENSIVE, and in a nutshell, bad customer service. And before you (Veteran's Estate Sales) reply to this and thank me for your 1 star review, for serving in the military, I appreciate your service and protecting our country....
