She is also an insanely talented cake decorator and pulls out all the stops to make sure her customers are happy. Would she have said that to a group of 5 adults walking in at 6:53... or did she have no issue turning them away because they were kids? If business hours end at 6:53pm, then the business should post that... Instead, this business clearly advertises closing at 7pm. We certainly won't patronize this business again. I would be furious if this was my business and my employee turned away customers who wanted to support my small business by putting a smile on a few kids' faces. City folks ought to temper their expectations. This is a small town bakery on a quaint main street, and inside, space is tight. There isn't any seating space, and if two or more groups of customers come in simultaneously, the rest of the queue has to wait outside the door. But things behind the counter are manned by a small, dedicated crew of folks who keep things moving. As with any bakery that makes things fresh, come as soon as the urges hit; when they're out, they're out.
