Has these guys out in July during the hottest week of the year. The team was here all day and worked the entire time. They had their own plumber and it was truly a one stop shop. Bev in the office helped us with coupons and we feel like we got a great deal and a company that's standing behind their work. They did the fall service and were efficient and kind in the second visit. We'll continue to use them for our irrigation needs! read more

Grasshopper Irrigation first came to open my irrigation system in May, all seemed fine, due to a wet season, I didn't run my sprinklers until July. At that time we found several heads broken or flooding, that should've been taken care of in May. But we understand that some things can be missed when not run long, so we called, they sent someone out right away. He was great, fixed everything. I never received a bill, just an invoice through email stating completed work, no charge. A few months later, I saw on bank statement they charged me automatically. When I inquired about it the receptionist was accusing me because how dare I wait 7 wks to turn on sprinklers... when I asked to speak to owner he was beyond rude, telling me he has plenty of customers who pay and wouldn't it be nice if the truck dealership he just went to gave him free service. I wasn't looking for free service, I had paid a few hundred dollars to have it turned on and checked out. If they had done it properly, they would've seen the issues. They told us they sent us 3 invoices, we NEVER received one!! They just charged me without notice for a service that should've been done right the first time. When we called to talk it over, again, they were EXTREMELY rude! Wouldn't even have an intelligent discussion with us. read more

Positive experience start to finish! I called for an estimate and they came out quickly. This process generated a bunch of questions and Bev took care of all of my questions. She was responsive and timely. On installation day all expectations were met. The crew was on time, ready to go and stuck to the plan. The system works. We were scammed. Called Grasshopper to check on a sprinkler system in a home we just moved in to. Was told it would be $85 for the service call plus any needed repairs to turn on our system. They came out and identified a problem, quoting me $175 for the repair. I asked VERY specifically, and then asked for clarification again, that I would be billed for exactly $85 + $175. He confirmed this verbally THREE times. I should have asked for it in writing, because surprise surprise, we got a bill for over $400. I'm no math wiz, but that didn't look right. Turns out they charged for an extra hour for the repair at $85, in addition to the $175 for the repair, plus $25 for a part. When I called and explained to the office that I had been very specifically told this wouldn't happen, she didn't seem to care. We will be going elsewhere to update our sprinkler system, and Grasshopper will have lost a sale of probably 2 grand over less than 200 bucks. Not smart. read more

I very clearly did not have the same experience is other reviewers here. Grasshopper was very professional from quote through installation. They came out to the property, quickly provided a quote via email, and then followed up with a packet of information and the quote via mail shortly thereafter. They showed up on the scheduled day, at the scheduled time and even finished the work a day earlier than anticipated. We had a brand new system installed which consisted of 12 zones and 62 sprinkler heads and they completed the project in a day with shockingly little damage to the yard. All of the workers were polite and worked hard all day to get it done for us - they even did a couple of extra things for us that we were not charged for. Overall, an excellent experience and we plan to use Grasshopper to expand our scope of work in the future. read more

These bad reviews on Yelp don't fit with the experience I just had with an irrigation system install at my house in Melrose. They were super efficient installing the system and clearly knew what they were doing and then didn't complain or charge me for two last minute requests that required them to come back to my house separately. They were a class act from my perspective with customer service! read more

I set up an appointment with Grasshopper Irrigation on Apr 14th and they told me that today (May 3rd) was the only day they can come to my place and that too between 3-6 PM. I planned to take half day off to make sure that I am at home when they arrive. I waited 3 weeks for this appointment and then took half day off from work to be at home for the technician. Someone showed up around noon at my place but my wife told them that she was not comfortable letting them in and asked them to come back at agreed time (between 3-6) when I'm at home. I got a call from grasshopper at 2 PM and I told them at that I was on my way to home and they can come at 2:30. I was at home by 2:30 and at 3:50 I got a voice mail saying that no one is going to come to our place today and they would be happy to reschedule the appointment to a later date. I don't think I will be rescheduling the appointment! read more

It is not often that I take the time to review a company. However given the circumstances of my experience with Dennis the Owner of Grasshopper Irrigation, I felt compelled to write one. I have been a customer in good standing for approximately five years. I have never experienced a problem with their service, but have never had a problem of any magnitude with my irrigation system. This past year, I was receiving leak reports from the City of Medford that there was a problem and I was continually leaking water. By walking the route of my system I discovered the swamp like area near the box of my system. I then turned off my water at the shut off in my house. I called Grasshopper and they sent out a technician. He dug up the area and immediately discovered a puncture in the main. He told me there was about a 4 foot length of the main that was sitting on a lot of ledge under the ground. He fixed the puncture and then back filled the whole. Since it was early in the season I was not yet using irrigation on my lawn. A couple of weeks later I turned on the system to water my lawn. Two days later I got another leak report from the City. I called back Grasshopper and they sent the same technician back. He saw immediately that the problem was in the exact same area as the lawn was soaked. As he put it "it was like pudding under the grass". He then found another puncture on that same length of pipe. He fixed that one and filled the hole again. A few days later, the same thing. Another leak report. I called Grasshopper again and they told me they could not send anyone out for four weeks. I was having to manually turn on and off the water at the shut off each day in the basement in order to water my lawn. When the day finally arrived that they were to come for service, I sent an email in the morning to confirm my appointment and the time they would be coming. They told me between 1-4pm. They did not arrive, and did not call me to inform me they either were not coming, or would be late. At 4:34pm I then sent a terse email to the office and copied Dennis the owner stating my grievance and my frustration level. Not one apology. Approximately 4:50pm the technician arrived. He was not the same one so I had to explain the entire problem to him as he said he did not have any notes. He dug up the same area, to find not one, but two more holes. At this point I had already paid twice to have this same section of pipe fixed and really thought that they would not dare charge me for this third visit to yet again fix the same pipe. I was WRONG. I received an invoice today for another $182.50. I sent Dennis the owner an email telling him that I did not think it fair to be billed again for fixing the same 4 foot length of pipe three times. He was arrogant, rude and nasty in his responses. He asked me if I went to get my car washed and then it got dirty, would I have to pay to get is washed again or should it be free???? WTF?? Great customer service huh? I responded that if I went through a car wash and my car still was dirty, the car wash would send me through again for no charge. He sent me a couple of more of his arrogant and rude responses. At that point I told him I was not paying the bill and that our business relationship was terminated. He told me he would see me in court. All as I can say is I am looking forward to it Dennis. You have no business running a business and you have zero customer service skills. My advice to anyone looking for an irrigation company would be to look elsewhere!! read more

I am not sure as to how or why the other posters had such a horrible experience because our experience could not have gone better! Dennis showed up for an estimate the day after I called and left me with an estimate in hand, and it was followed up by an email copy later the same day. The estimate was nearly a third off of the other two I had already gotten from other vendors, and in additioan I was offered features the others were charging more for. When it came to scheduling Bev could not have tried harder to meet our requst for an install date becuse I had already lined up a landscaper for other services. They did meet my request and showed up on the date and exact time they said they would. After the install was completed I was thoroughly walked through the install and function of the entire system. After a week of running the system I observed some of the heads needed either replacement or adjustments and I was scheduled for the repair work, and as before I was met with a great guy and he could not have been more thorough, at the end of his day! I hired Grasshopper Irrigation to install sprinklers throughout the front n back of my yard this past summer. They showed up the day they were suppose to and went right to work considering that it was quite a big job. There were 2 spanish workers doing the work and they were moving right along and were done quite quickly. In the fall as I was raking leaves I noticed there were plastic pipes pertruding from the Lawn and this caused me to investigate. I found more of the piping sticking out at 10ft lenghts in the back of the sheds and I was short 2 sprinkler heads. read more
