We have used these guys since we bought our current house. Full disclosure, our lawn was in pretty good shape, so the desire was to just maintain what we had. I chose them because their plan is not based on a per treatment cost, but rather includes unlimited visits to maintain your lawn. If you see a problem, just call and they will come out between routine visits to put down more chemicals or whatever is needed. I have utilized this feature a few times and am happy with their response. I also like the detailed and personalized email reports they give you after treating your lawn. The salesman used every pressure tactic in the book to try and get me to sign up. I declined because their services are more expensive even though they provide similar services to competitors. When I told them I wasnt interested, they still added me to their weekly newsletter and email list even though I never asked to sign up. I hired Grass Roots Turf to help me eliminate the weeds in my yard. Unfortunately, the chemical that they use to treat weeds, are very ineffective. I also learned after signing up, that they don't treat weeds in pine straw...which is basically 50 percent of my back yard. I have been with GrassRoots for over a year now and they still have not been able to eliminate my weeds. I may even have more now then when I started with them. They are happy to keep coming out and retreating the lawn, but that does no good if they don't have anything strong enough to treat it! They keep givinge the same BS that it will take multiple treatments, but I have one of the worst looking lawns in my neighborhood and they can see that every time they come out but don't seem to care. Here is a more current review, not like most of these reviews that are 1+ years old at a minimum. I responded to a mailer postcard from Grassroots, 50% OFF First Treatment. I called and spoke with Mike, he did a great job and I bought, he even upsold me at the end of the call. 2 months later I have to fire Grassroots - I was charged immediately after agreeing to start service initiated with Mike and that phone call - that was the end of May, then I was charged again 2 weeks later, mid-June for a second payment equal to the first - why every two weeks? why NO 50% OFF the First Treatment? I called them from the postcard. They serviced me once, the mosquito treatment was effective for one week, I texted the service mgr and he said he's take care of me. 5 days later I emailed a service request for the retreatment of the mosquitos. I was advised a technician was notified and I would be put on the schedule. A week passed and nothing - so that is 11 days since I originally texted the mgr. I emailed them to STOP ALL CHARGES AGAINST MY CREDIT CARD and REFUND me money that was overcharged. Rude reception, they did not even ask why I was firing them. CONCLUSION: They DID NOT live up to their postcard solicitation for 50%OFF First Treatment. They DID NOT live up to the STATED GOAL to make me happy and to RETURN AS OFTEN AS NEEDED to take care of ANY service related issue. They showed NO INTEREST in me as a "customer" and they FAILED at EXECUTING THEIR BUSINESS PLAN - AVOID the mistake of hiring Grassroots in Atlanta metro. read more

My husband always thought that he could handle weed control by himself. I mean we're very handy people we've flipped lots of homes but one day when I was reading the bottles he used he was not applying them correctly or in the quantity that they should've been applied. So when we did the math this service was more cost-effective than doing it ourselves and buying the junk at Home Depot that doesn't work! By using this service we have cut down the amount of times we have to mow the lawn too because the weeds always grow faster than the lawn. We've had one of the most beautiful yards in the neighborhood thanks to them. Their customer service is fantastic they are very responsive to emails whenever we feel like we need an extra treatment because we see weeds they always get someone out right away! We have referred several of our neighbors to this company and they all love the service so much! Also most importantly whatever they use has never gotten anyone in our family sick including our pets. read more

Great service and care. Using Grass Roots over two years. During prior applications the technician identified a wet area thought to be poor drainage. I thought the same until one sunny day I walked across the lawn and noticed a wet area that shouldn't be because of on rain in several days. I had my gardener take a look. Turned out my lawn irrigation system was seeping at the connection to the main house feed. He repaired it -- now no issues. Really appreciative for the observation by the Grass Roots Technician. read more

I reached out to this company and spoke to one agent. I was given a price an asked for a deal. The CEO accepted the deal and the agent disagreed and then asked for proof of the email from the CEO. Still no response from anyone. Apparently customers are not at the top of the list. I am an educator so I am busy all day long without access to my phone. I spent much too much time to end up with nothing but having to start up again. I am not sure if it is a lack of communication or what happened but I'm disappointed and back at square one. read more

i have been with grass roots for years. for some reason lately they have gone downhill!! they have raised their prices and lowered their service. example 1. in june 2022, i have always had them treat my yard for fleas and ticks, in june i found a tick on my dog. i contacted gr. they told me it is now a seperate service and fee. although the other normal fee did not change. so, i had it added. i asked that they come to the door and notify me when they get here so i know not to let my dog on the lawn for 2 hours following treatment. i have an email verifying that conversation. they charged me for a flea and tick treatment in june byt did not come out in june. they came out late one afternoon on the 14th of july after charging me for july's flea and tic treatment. they failed to come to the door. withing 10 minutes of their visit, my lawn care guys came and cut the grass. thus taking away all of july's treatment. i called. it will be 3 weeks before they can come back out. well that's when it's due for another treatment! 2. weeds in oir backyard. notified them. again no notification of treatment. yard care people cyt the grass. so treament no good. will be another 3 weeks. they charge me monthly for this service. yet i have weeds and fleas. what's wrong with this picture? i am looking for another company that is comparable to them that will fog the yard. grass roots claim they will come back out, but it's on their schedule, which is usually at your next due treatment. so that statement is misleading. use to this company stood by their word. i guess like most, they have outgrown their britches. can't keep up. so you're just a pain to them. until things change, i do not recommend them. update: i spoke with a manager named mark. he was very nice and took time to understand my situation. he is having someone out sooner than the girl (who acted like she could have care less about me) has promised. we will see. hopefully they will notify me when they are treating my yard so i will know not to take my dog out or let them cut the grass for 2 hours like they tell you to. so if you want something done talk with a manager. read more

Chris came out and sprayed my yard for mosquitoes for the first time. He is kind and extremely professional. Before the treatment he went over what I needed to do after the treatment. Afterwords I received a comprehensive email of what he did and his recommendations. Additionally, I can contact Grassroots in between treatments if I need them to come out before my next treatment is due which is awesome! it's hard to get this level of customer service!! I've been meaning to leave a review for a while now! These guys ROCK! I used to use a company that had King in their name(you figure it out). I felt like they were doing a "good" job, but not as good as they could have. When I saw a yard sign at the front of my neighborhood, I decided to yelp them. After seeing the great reviews, I made the switch. Really glad I did, because this company TRULY cares about their customers. Every time I have to call for a re-spray(due to rain and bad weather, nothing they did), I always get great service. Everyone compliments my yard and how green and beautiful it is. We just went under contract on our house and I firmly believe the gorgeous lawn had a part in it. I will be using GR at our next home NO DOUBT! Horrible Horrible Horrible. They are sure fast at taking out payment the first of every month. They owe us a credit for June and we still haven't received it. The tech came out first part of June and told us it wouldn't do any good to keep servicing our yard. He said it would be best to wait for fall and then start services back. The next day a guy called from the office and went over what would be done in the fall and said we would receive a credit for June.Two weeks went by and no credit so I called and spoke with a lady and she read the notes and said we should receive the credit in a few days. Instead of a credit they sent out a different tech and he serviced the yard after I had already spoken to three people about not having service until the fall. So I called and cancelled the entire service and the mosquito service. Still no credit for June. I would not recommend Grassroots horrible customer service. read more

Great customer Service! I found error in billing, called the office, and Kimberly took care of it immediately. I quit prior company after 2 months for same issue because I had to "beg" for promotions they promised. The first time they came out, we had concrete workers present; they came back two days later and technician let me know he couldn't treat the portion of back yard with new sod. Every time they serviced our lawn they would say "dog in back yard - will come back later". That is totally understandable, but they would never come back or call before coming to see if we could put the dog inside. Our backyard is now full of weeds and front yard isn't much better. Called to let them know and they said they'd be out on April 20th to service - never came out, so my husband called - they said they'd be there on 23rd. Still no one - called again on Friday and the person that handles our account was unavailable. I've been trying to cancel for over 2 weeks now, but I can't bc I've already paid for April and don't want to lose my money. read more

First time using this company and they killed all of our grass in the side and back yard because they thought it was all Bermuda. How can you call yourself a grass company when you don't even know the difference between Fescue and Bermuda??? And to add insult to injury, they want us to pay them $1700 in the fall to fix THEIR MISTAKE!!! They expect us to go all summer with a dirt yard. These guys are a complete train wreck with service. I hired them to treat my kitchen for german roaches WITHOUT toxins which is what they promised me. From there, they sprayed pesticides anyway. I came in my house and it smelled like a can of Raid. They apologized, I requested a refund for that service...never received it. Never received response to my e-mail. My bug guy came out without telling me and treated the outside of my house only (I hired them for the kitchen!). I went back and forth with several people in their office and it was all smoke and mirrors. All in all, these people are all very nice to talk to but DO NOT carry through with their promises. Most importantly, if pesticides are a serious issue to your health and you need a non-toxic treatment, do not trust this company!!! read more

Wow, as I logged in to write this review I saw that I've had the exact same experience as the previous review posted two weeks ago by Sharon N. Service was good for the first 4 or 5 years, then about 2, maybe 3 years ago things changed 180 degrees. I've been nice, pleaded for help, I've done everything they told me to do to solve "MY" problem from watering schedule to constant blade sharping on my lawnmower, etc. They always treated me like the spots and weeds and dead areas were "MY" problem, never their problem. It had to be something I was doing wrong...couldn't be their service. They completely refused to take any ownership over the issues. Today I did what I should have done 2 years ago and canceled my service contract. The attitude of the person who I spoke with when cancelling made it crystal clear I was making the right decision. I signed up today with a competitor who coincidentally treats all the yards in our neighborrhood who actually have green grass. read more
