Little did I know unannounced by two previous dentist, I had a serious infection, that left untreated could and would cause serious damage and possibly even death. Dr. Lo Cascio shook his head and told me I need 4 root canals and 4 new crown to get me healthy again. This Infection had been in my mouth for over a year and the damage would only get worse. I proceeded with what would end up taking three month to fix. Once Dr. LO Cascio and I agreed and started the long process I never felt uncertain or intimidated like I had been with the previous other two dentist, that By-the-way never mentioned I had an infection. Dr Lo Cascsio and his staff created an environment that put me at ease throughout the entire three month process. The entire office has an uncanny calm, I never dreaded having to go to my appointments. Dr. Lo Cascio and his staff shared a friendly banter. They always seemed happy to be there and were in great spirits, which was not the case at the other dentist offices. I really hope I have expressed my respect and gratitude sufficiently for this great establishment sufficiently. If I could give Dr. Lo Cascio and his staff 10 stars I would. I was given two different treatment plans with the first flowing into the second. The part of the first part was an all on five acrylic upper hybrid denture while the part of the 2nd part was the zirconia upgrade. Things proceeded through several appointments at which the last was the installation of the 'prototype' acrylic. I was pleased with the fit and function, however, this first prototype still had several issues to be corrected. An appointment was made to deliver the corrected denture and I was assured I was still in the treatment plan and owed no further for the part of the first part, the acrylic hybrid denture. Before the time for the 2nd appointment rolled around, I was called with some VERY confusing messaging about money. This call finally resorted to talking with the practitioner himself who said that the delivery of the corrected denture would require another payment around twice the amount of the original treatment plan. Or, three times the cost originally quoted. It felt VERY much like a used car salesman 'bait and switch' with the sole purpose being to get more money out of my pocket than was outlined in the original treatment plan. This practitioner needs to stand in front of a mirror and ask himself why there is such a booming business in dental tourism. If you have money to waste on a narcissistic ego, I am sure you will be just fine. If you are a senior retiree and AF veteran with a sole source of income being SSI, this guy is a SCAM ARTIST!!! I am now left with a less than optimal, first pass prototype with multiple issues that he apparently is too good to be bothered to correct or live up to his original treatment plan that he wrote. After Dr. Burgin took over the office, my wife had an appointment for a cleaning and exam maybe one month before I had an appointment for the same thing. She came home after her appointment and said she had bitewing x-rays taken because the hygienist told her she needed bitewing x-rays because the American Dental Association recommends they be taken every 12 months, and it had been over 12 months since the last time they were taken. My wife asked me if that was true and I told her I seriously doubted it. I told her it could be true if someone constantly had tooth decay because of terrible habits and very poor oral hygiene, but I think it had been over two decades since my wife had new decay in a tooth and her oral hygiene was exceptional. I told her I would contact the ADA to confirm my suspicions that Dr. Burgin's hygienist was not telling the truth. The ADA told me they do not recommend bitewing x-rays every 12 months. I had an appointment about one month later and she pulled the same false statement with me, and I called her on it. I even offered her money to use my smart phone and show me where the ADA recommends this. She refused the money and would not look it up on the internet. Instead, she left the room and went to get Dr. Burgin. When he walked in, we talked about this, and he told me there could only be one dentist in his office and we parted ways. I could be wrong, but I think my last bitewing x-rays were taken about 13 months previous to this appointment and included bitewings of teeth that had not shown any decay in over 60 years. I am very disappointed that Dr. Smart would sell his practice to someone who behaves this way. When a dental office recommends x-rays that are of no benefit except to increase their income that is one thing, and I think that is not uncommon. When they claim it is because the ADA recommends it, that I have not seen before. This in my opinion is fraud. What is your opinion?

The temporary denture was a poor fit, was half an inch thick and since I had over 20 years experience wearing dentures-I knew when something was just plain wrong. Had to wait 2 weeks for an adjustment, that didn't help. I paid $800+ for a temporary denture that was worthless. No offer to correct it or remake it or credit it to my account to apply to the permanent denture in the future. Told to just wait it out for the implants to heal & get the permanent denture, as if I didn't pay for a temporary that would fit? I decided that I could not rely on him to create a good permanent denture. I notice that over half of the 40 reviews are within the past month....I find that interesting but maybe things have improved in the past month. I won't go back and I don't recommend going there to anyone. It's a sizable investment to have teeth done by such specialists, when it starts out badly, it usually does not get better so better to cut losses and look elsewhere. I went somewhere else to finish the extensive work I had done and am quite happy I did.

To be more specific, in one instance, I was told that I needed a drilled filling in a couple of my front teeth, but Dr. Sisk did not initially say what the procedure would be, and only referred to it in vague terms like "it", and only after I explicitly had to ask what he was talking about did he give me any sort of clarity. As a patient, I expect to be given this bare minimum of important information without having to ask. After consulting with a second dentist, that dentist confirmed to me that I did not have any need for a filling. I feel that Dr. Sisk was trying to strong-arm me into a procedure that would make both his office and him a good amount of money. I will not be returning to this dentist.
