Firstly, I loved the dentist and dental hygienist at this office; therefore 3 stars. HOWEVER, if you plan on using dental insurance please be aware that they ONLY contract with Humana PPO. They will tell you they accept all insurance, but that only means they will send in 'courtesy' claims on behalf of the patient. They do not reduce their rates to what dental insurance companies allow other than Humana. Be prepared for an extravagant bill if you have a few fillings, cleaning, X-rays, and a crown done. We will be finding a reasonable dentist closer to home. read more

I'm torn on this. For my whole life, my "dentist"comes in after my cleaning basically to say hi & be personable, really just To touch base. He'll look at my teeth & say hi. This is the first & only time that I was told it would be an extra charge for MY supposed dentist to come in for 5 minutes. It was weird & off putting when the realization came that this practice was not just about dental health but also about maximizing profits vs. building relationships. After having the same hygienist for 20+ years & the same dentist for 10 (they both retired), it's a harsh reminder of how little my business & loyalty actually means in 2022. My hygienist was wonderful & I liked her very much. I look forward to seeing her again. Like my previous hygienist, I would follow her to another practice; I followed my last hygienist to 3 different practices. read more

I have been going to my family dentistry for years. I have always appreciated the way they made you feel welcomed. Dr Mullins is a polite, professional and caring dentist and I would give his staff high marks for the efficiency they have shown in the past. But a lot has changed since the move to the new building. First, I haven't seen Dr Mullins the past two times I've been there. I've seen Dr Owen and while he seems to be a very good dentist, I was not informed that Dr Mullins would not be continuing my care. I would have liked to have a choice. Second, good luck getting a plan for dental work made. I was informed that they were short four people in staff. I called them to find out if any progress had been made on my plan and was placed on hold for 15 minutes, after 15 minutes I hung up and called back. It is hard trying to find a new Dentist and start over after so many years. I wish Dr Mullins and Dr Owen good luck in their future endeavors, read more

I drove extra miles to have my dental work done at My Family Dentistry, because Dr. Mullins was highly recommended by a friend. I needed extensive work done and I wanted it done correctly. Dr. Mullins exceeded my expectations. I was super impressed with the technology of his office and the efficient manor in which the office ran....a well oiled machine. I am one happy client. I came to My Family Dentistry for the first time recently and I couldn't have been more impressed. I've never had a dentist take more care to check everything or explain to me what they were doing and why. As I was lying in the chair with my hands dipped in paraffin (a free service!) and aromatherapy mist wafting around, they found bonding cement on my teeth from braces that I had 15 years ago that no one else had ever seen. I'd thought for all of that time that I had a weirdly-shaped tooth, but it turns out that it was just a huge lump of cement that the orthodontist had left on! I can't say enough. They really are the best in Knoxville. read more

I recently found myself needing 2 crowns and other work to be done on my teeth. I have Humana insurance, but many dentists do not accept it, apparently. I live in Powell, and happened to notice My Family Dentistry sign, went in and found they do accept it. Set up appointment, and got the two new crowns. They look great. That was about 4 months ago. Today, I went in and got some bonding done to my lower front teeth that had lost a lot of the enamel. I really did not know how important it was to do this to keep the teeth from really giving trouble. The work took a couple of hours to finish, and I dozed off in the chair. Apologized to Dr. and said sorry to be so rude. He said that's just fine, shows its not hurting you. I too look forward to more dental care. Really appreciate the care and concern that Dr, Mullins and his entire staff give. read more

She was very informative and patient with me. I have sensitive teeth, especially cold sensations on the left side from a crown that I had put on me about a year ago in Farragut. Dr. Solly came in to inspect my teeth and cleaning afterwards, and was especially helpful, when he asked me questions about my sensitivity. He found out that I have not been able to chew on my left side of mouth due to a bad installation of a crown from a different office in Farragut, to which they tried to adjust it 3 different times, charging me for the adjustments along the way. Dr. Solly adjusted it, I went to a restaurant about 1 hour later, and VOILA! I could finally eat on the left side without any problem! I finally found the ONE DENTIST who is a GOD SEND! Also, Dr. Solly and his staff are very helpful regarding my boyfriends issues finding a dentist who is in his insurance network that has integrity. To date, he is still struggling finding a dentist who has integrity and my boyfriend is leaning towards asking to join Dr. Solly's office as a patient, because we both know that he is a SAINT! They seem friendly in the most sincere way & were responsive to my questions & concerns. I was struck by how thorough my initial exam was & appreciated having a forthright convo about my teeth & future preventative care. Their "whole person" perspective of dentistry is appreciated because most people don't realize how much your teeth effect your entire life until you start having issues. No complaints on hygienists or any of the ladies up front. Dr. Eades was awful! He told me I needed work done and when I asked follow-up questions he walked out while I was talking. I asked the hygienist to please have him come back in to which I was told he doesn't like to have to come back in. He was even ruder the second time. I wanted to know which two teeth needed the fillings as he was giving letters and numbers. When I asked what those meant he told me "they're letters!" He continued to talk down to me (the nerve makes the tooth hurt, so you even know how a tooth works!) and left again when he was done talking. The sweet hygienist explained everything to me and answered any questions she could. Will never see him again!

Terrible Terrible experience. The partial they had teeth that were half the size they should be…read more You could not see my teeth when i smiled. The dentist didn't realize i had them in. They did return them for correction however, they heightened the teeth into the gums so the result were the same. They did not honor correcting them correctly and said i would have to pay for new ones. The dental assistant was the one who measured incorrectly and apparently did not know what she was doing. They marked on my face witj permanent marker then laughed about it. I have all evidence supporting everything I am saying, even a tape of a rude conversation with the incompetent dental assistant. I suspect they send their dental work overseas due to the inordinate amout of time it took to get impression plates, over a month. Beware Beware

They knew that if they told me that, I would've went somewhere else, which I should've. She followed with "if you have a problem, you should talk to your insurance." I talked to my insurance and the were shocked that this dentist would keep that information from me. UPDATE: I went to a new dentist and I had no teeth that needed fixing, when Lynnwood told me I had 1 cavity and 2 other teeth that were bad enough to have to come in for. My new dentist said "I tried very hard to find that cavity and I couldn't see anything" and he said the other two were not nearly as bad as they said they were and they didn't need fixing either.

This place is one to beware of. Like buying a new car and they want to sell you extended warranty, etc, etc. Was told needed sleep apnea study which they do. A dental office. Wanted to remove crowned teeth and stated they were infected. Went there with no tooth pain but cleaning and sone filler on two front teeth. The sales pitch started right away! Sleep Apnea Study, need two extractions, need a btidge! Just interested in the fillings on two front teeth but told wont do that unless I do all the other stuff. Scheduled me for a power point presentation! Come from family of MD's and they have never heard of a dental office doing sleep studies. I've been a patient of Dr. Mullins at My Family Dentistry for well over 10 years. From fillings to implants and even a tissue graft, I have not ever had a bad experience. Dr. Mullins and his staff are warm and encouraging, and I always leave feeling so well taken care of. They are passionate about what they do, and it's just a fantastic place. I never thought I'd feel that way about a dentist office. He also treated my kids exceptionally well - we switched to him instead of our pediatric dentist and my kids preferred him hands down. The kids are grown and gone but still think Dr Mullins is the best. Can't say enough good things, and I'm always so happy to get to recommend him and his fabulous dental assistants and hygienists. I've been a patient here for almost 8 years. It truly is a little family. Everyone there is welcoming and warm. I have the best dental hygienist, Julie! She takes awesome care of my teeth, she is always giving me great tips to better care for my oral health, she is very knowledgeable and on top of that she always remembers my family and conversations we've had 6 months prior. She takes time to really know her patients and their needs. I always look forward to my teeth cleaning! Dr. Mullins has been my dentist since I was young. He has always been thorough and professional, yet always cared about providing a pain-free experience. He and his staff have always been friends to me and my family. He's provided amazing treatment for life events such as my teeth chipping after a scooter fall (4th grade), straightening through Invisalign (high school), and teeth whitening for my wedding day. He truly wants to take care of his patients. In fact, we still drive three hours to see them after we moved to NC! We love My Family Dentistry! read more

Five stars is not enough! Dr. Mullins and his team are incredible! He is very thorough and is always learning new things to make his practice better. He goes the extra mile to make sure patients are comfortable, going as far as letting you play your own music or put on Netflix. The hygienists are very friendly, personable and willing to help you in any way they can. Everyone, from the scheduling staff to Dr. Mullins himself, is exceptional at what they do and also are just great people, in general. Kate, the assistant, was very professional and tentative. I hope she finds a good man, she deserves him. Taylor the hygienist was very hot. The front office girls Acacia and Jordan were helpful and not on Tictok like most millennials these days. Dr. Mullins offered the steadiest hands during needling and Botox.
