They under bid the job because of poor estimating on their part and then wanted me to "do the right thing" and pay the roughly $ 4,000 extra. They said that's about how much they came out of pocket to do the job. I agreed to pay for the additional concrete and did even though we had a signed contract (should never have done that). Also, the 5 days turned into over 6 months and they never came back to finish the filling and grading around the new slabs. Very disappointed and would not recommend them to even my worst enemy. Terrible contractor. Hired for job in October and he said it would be done within a week. Started…read moreright away removing old driveway, but did not come bock for months. Weekly promised to be out, but had every excuse under the sun. Finally came back again mid-January and poured concrete(I had to pay mix company directly) only leveled half the drive way and literally just poured huge clumps and piles with the rest. Wasting the concrete and completely blocking the driveway. No finishing or leveling skills with actual footprints still visible. He dumped concrete on plants and damaged stone wall at entrance. Left unplaced lumps of concrete on bottom half of driveway preventing me from access. Never installed any expansion joints. Kept promising to make it right. Total scam artist and definitely not capable of concrete install or being honest. I paid half of job when hired and had to pay OVER the other half the day concrete was ordered directly to Ready Mix. Been without access to my garage or driveway for 5 months. Have to hire someone else to remove what he placed and redo the work. John Collins with Concrete Mafia is a ripoff and scam. When I told John Collins I was hiring another contractor to finish the job and wanted to settle without going to court, he threatens me over text "If the contractor steals my forms Or my stops we won't have to worry about court." Guy really thinks he is in the mafia, I guess. Total crook!
