We had 13 lines out, and caught eight beautiful king salmon in a torrential downpour over about five hours. Afterwards the fish were completely cleaned, skinned, and de-boned for us afterwards. Our freezer looks wonderful right now! Would definitely return. Good value for the money. The lodge was a little pricy-- 40 dollars per person seemed cheap, but when there were six of us and we paid $240 dollars for one night, it seems a little steep. Don't hesitate to give them a call and schedule your next charter! :)

Refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, table and chairs in the room. Our room faced the river. Awesome view. Kept our boat at the hotel docks. Convenience room had ice, coffee, silverware, plates etc. Couldn't ask for better than this, was perfect! Fishing charters located right outside the hotel at docks. They have a fish cleaning station and freezers to keep your fish until you leave. Love that the location is centrally located downtown with great shopping and restaurants all in walking distance. Beautifully landscaped. A bush had so many butterflies I had to take some pictures! Fantastic variety of shops. Loved that we could walk the Riverwalk all the way to Lake Michigan! Very peaceful and scenic with boats going by. We stayed 3 nights and sad to leave. Would definitely recommend this hotel!! Loved our experience here!!!!

Except that equipment and so on takes time and Zayne pointed out that if you stop at 10 outside we would lose a lot of people to the lull. Instead, he was able to rent additional equipment for us, made some good calls on when the timing was right, and made it so smooth our guests transitioned with ease and he definitely kept the dancing going. I would also strongly suggest you let him do his job. We had a mix of Alabama cowboy meets professional woman (in our mid 40s) and everything from pre-teens to 70 somethings and he kept that floor going. Trust him on music, set up and lights. He knows what he's doing. He actually did a better job coordinating timing on everything and can read a room better than the staff did. Highly Highly recommend him!

I happened to stay right after the summer rush ended, so I was one of only a few guests staying at the motel. Check-in was fairly simple, and I was shocked at how they still do most of their business without computers. Computers or not, they were friendly and very efficient. The location is absolutely perfect, as its right at lighthouse park at the mouth of the Manistee river at Lake Michigan - beaches galore at your fingertips...toe-tips My room was small, and had a queen bed. All was clean and absent of any sort of bad odors and stains. Everything was outdated, but in a delicious, kitschy way. The view out of my room was amazing, and there were plenty of chairs and tables available for enjoying the view from your front porch. They provided free Wi-Fi, and firewood for a bonfire we had one of our nights there. We were provided with minimal toiletries, so definitely bring your own. You'll also find barbecues and pretty much anything you need to enjoy a vacation on the beach. I highly recommend this place if you're on a budget, or if you're low-maintenance and value a beautiful view over luxurious accommodations.

When we asked to move rooms, we were given a tiny apple cider container to "catch" the fruitflies and told we can't move because we'd used the room. We were also told the flies were bad in general. If they knew though, I'm not sure why they didn't give a warning up front. It definitely hadn't been dusted in a while with dust caked on the lampshades. The bathroom light only half worked - but would flip on if you hit the wall next to it. The bedspreads looked dirty with at least one pillowcase having what appeared to be a blood stain. The bathroom had small spots on the ceiling in multiple places that was not apparent if they were tiny bugs or dirt... Honestly, we questioned whether they had bedbugs b/c there were bites on our legs after the first night of sleeping. We had stayed here before and don't remember these types of issues. We're not opposed to old properties, but it clearly hasn't been kept up and it felt really unclean. Honestly, was surprised to see so many recent positive reviews.
