A Cheese Affair is a French-style gourmet cheese shop filled with fromage from across the globe. The artisanal cheeses are so delicious. Nice to sample a few of the cheesemomger's favorites. They also have beautiful cheeseboards or make your own. They have a wide selection of crackers, jams and even French wines. Will definitely be back. Would make a great place for a Yelp event. You walk in and you get cases of cheese on one side, some meats on the back end, and some crackers and jams on the other! If you like Swiss, or Brie, or some 1000-day aged Gouda, or some pungent blue, there is something for everyone and so much to choose from! Have your pick and you can have a taste, if you so choose! Some cheeses are sold by weight, others by the wheel.. mix and match and make a board of it! The service is spot on! The lady that helped us was super friendly, even close to closing! My son was begging for more and she gave him more to taste! The cheese was so good he wanted to eat it as soon as we got home, luckily we are close by! The owner was there as well and the shop is super duper clean, bright, and modern! Love the sign by the counter that reads, "Say Fromage"!! Can't wait to try more and hope they create some kind of tasting so we can explore new cheeses each week! Welcome to the neighborhood, A Cheese Affair!!

We ended up leaving with the Salva Cremasco (my BF's pick) while I chose a random interesting-looking cheese called Screamer--because sometimes the mystery pick just calls to you. Half the fun here is getting to try cheeses you'd probably never think to bring home otherwise. The Salva Cremasco was surprisingly easy to love. Mild, buttery, and savory in a way that felt approachable rather than intimidating, with a smooth semi-firm texture that got creamier as you ate it. At first, it tasted very clean and milky with a light nuttiness, but the finish had this subtle earthy, almost mushroomy/vegetal note that kept things interesting without ever becoming funky or sharp. It felt like the kind of cheese you accidentally keep cutting "one more slice" of until suddenly... half of it is gone. We were also sold on trying the FLUFF Bake Bar cookies made with goat milk, which honestly felt very on-brand for the whole experience. Dangerous place for impulse purchases--but in the best possible way. What really keeps making this place memorable, though, is the people. I love the knowledgeable and warm welcome we always get from the staff. Even on a visit that barely lasted 15 minutes, they somehow still made the experience feel memorable--like you stopped by to chat with people who genuinely love what they do and want to share it with you.

A small, discreet shop with a backyard-like parking lot, it's unassuming on the outside but full of character on the inside. Upon entering, you're welcomed with samples of the five cheeses of the week, generally going from soft to firmer and stronger. Their cheeses are displayed in a small fridge, but you can always request varietals ahead of time if you've got something in mind. We bought blue cheese they had on sample (the "Ewe Calf to be Kidding" from Wisconsin, a triple-milk (sheep, cow, and goat)) and the last of their Capricorn Goat Blue cheeses for about $10/piece. Since they rotate out their cheeses weekly, it may become a regular stop on our weekend grocery trips (they mention that many people do that). They also mentioned that their wines rotate out and they have a good relationship with local distributors to understand what pairs well with their cheeses. They also let you start an account so that you can keep a history of all the cheese you buy. You better bet that I signed up. They're celebrating their 20 year anniversary in Houston. I wish I had come earlier to experience some of those years. It's got to be a cornerstone of Houston cheese and probably the among the best cheesemongers in Houston.

I was immediately intrigued, especially since they're located in Pearland. It took a few months after HRW before I was finally able to try them out. Take Out: I've done take out a few times. The first time, I ordered at the restaurant. It took about 20-30 minutes for the food to be prepared. Miranda was so nice and offered me water while I waited. She was very friendly and personable. The next two times, I ordered online. My order was ready when I arrived both times, however the second time I arrived, service was extremely slow. I was in a hurry and didn't feel well so I left a little annoyed. Food: Cucumber Shooters - Really tasty! I enjoyed the walnuts and cream cheese. Deviled Eggs - The flavor changes monthly. The first time I had it, the flavor was olive and I didn't care for it. Nutella Board - I ordered a catering size for a party and it was a hit with the party goers. Smoked Salmon - I loved it! It came with an everything bagel, cream cheese, and an assortment of veggies. I had enough food for three days. Dine In: We were the only patrons in the restaurant. It's not a large place, but it was a little awkward because our server could hear our entire conversation. There was a music playlist going, but the volume was low. Our server Cassundra was very nice. She made great suggestions on food and wine and assured us that the amount of food we ordered would be plenty. Wine: We ordered a bottle of Pratello Catulliano. This was our first time trying Lugana wine. You could taste the lime and apple, and it was on the drier side. Cassundra told us that they did a wine and Girl Scout cookie pairing and the Pratello Catulliano paired nicely with the Shortbread cookie. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying a bottle to go. We also had a glass of the house white wine which we enjoyed. Food: Butter Board - This was extremely tasty! It's whipped butter with hot honey, garlic cloves, rosemary, and sea salt. The contrast of sweet, salty, and savory was excellent and I loved the flavor of the rosemary! It came with focaccia bread. Deviled Eggs - The flavor this month is dill pickle. They were much better than the olive ones I had a few months prior and I would definitely order this flavor again! The Pearland - This charcuterie board is one of their most popular. There was a nice assortment of meat, cheese, crackers, and fruit. I actually liked the beet crackers with the salami and sharp cheddar. TBTBTCBM never seems to be busy when I visit. It is hidden in the same shopping strip as the discount movie theater. Part of me likes that it's sort of a secret, but I want this business to do well. It's nice to have a wine bar in town and not have to drive to Friendswood, Houston, or Missouri City.
